My Dear Grand Duke on a Leash - Chapter 84
Chapter 42.2 — Honeymoon Night (24)
“….”
With her eyes still tightly closed, Riette slowly pulled the blanket up to under her nose before a small whisper slowly escaped from her lips.
“Um… could you indulge me for just ten more seconds?”
“….”
“I still need a little more time to prepare myself…”
She swallowed dryly. Just enough time to calm her face, which was as red as a burning coal. It was exactly just what she needed.
Instead of a response, the sound of cloth rustling returned. After a brief rustle, the sound of a chain of metal falling was heard, followed by the clicking sound as if opening the lid of an iron object.
It sounded like opening a pocket watch…
Click.
The sound of him closing the pocket watch lid was heard again.
“Did you sleep comfortably, Princess?”
It seemed he had indeed counted those exact ten seconds.
Riette, who was furrowing her brows, finally opened her eyes slowly. It was only then that the blue and green eyes finally met in mid-air.
As expected, his face was handsome and how neat his appearance was… It was almost irritating.
A rigid dignity flowed through his proper posture. Neatly combed hair and a tidy, sharp face. An upright posture and indifferent blue eyes that seemed to carve an ice barrier. From the lounge suit tailored to fit his body perfectly to the silver pocket watch chain hanging from his vest pocket, everything was exactly the same as when they first met a week ago, as if he had been swapped out and replaced.
A very clean hue emanated from his face as he faced the afternoon sunlight. It almost seemed as if he had just returned from a vacation, with his complexion so fresh.
‘Seems like I’m the only one making a fuss.’
Riette glanced at him as he slipped the pocket watch into his vest pocket.
“Grand Duke. About yesterday…”
Her mouth snapped shut of its own accord. It was because recalling those ghastly scenes flashed before her eyes like a beacon.
She muttered, curling up on her toes under the covers.
“We did it, right?”
“If you’re talking about s*x, then yes.”
“That—! Ah, uh… Yeah. Ung.”
She was startled by the conventional word that came out of his prim lips. Even a single word made her ears burn hot.
She turned away from him, her forehead flushed bright red.
“It just… didn’t feel real, so I asked.”
“Are you saying that when you’re lying down and unable to get up due to the aftereffects?”
Indeed, there wasn’t a single part of her body that didn’t ache. Perhaps the unusual posture at the end was decisive, especially since the lower half of her body was tingling and throbbing so much that she didn’t dare to move her lower limbs.
“You’re right, but I’m the only one lying here, and the Grand Duke is so nonchalant. It’s not like I did it with another man…”
His nonchalant attitude, as if nothing had happened, was irritating and a little disappointing.
She knew she shouldn’t feel this way, but weren’t emotions always irrational and beyond rational judgment? What could she do? She was always a sensitive person by nature. If there were any fault, it would be the fault of her mother, who gave birth to her.
Hmph.
All of a sudden, a large shadow fell across her face as if a cloud had covered the sun. Riette realized a beat later that it was the trace of him cowering his body. And then…
“Uup!”
Her lips were immediately sealed.
He pinned his fingers to her hand and pressed his lips down.
Today, he emitted a fragrant and gentle soap scent. It seemed he hadn’t showered long ago.
A kiss followed, as smooth and soft as the foam that washed over her body, persistent and tenacious as if meticulously cleaning every corner of her mouth. The soft and warm sensation of the blanket, still bearing the sun’s warmth. His fingers gripped tightly between hers, careful yet firm, as if determined never to let go.
Last night…
It was a kiss that evoked memories of a wedding car in front of a dark river breeze. His tender flesh plunged so deeply, almost suffocating her, as she clung to his shirt in agony before he withdrew and guided himself inside her.
It seemed as though he was trying to let him know who she was kissing. It was a deep and strange kiss that explored thoroughly, enticing him to follow suit.
The damp sound of lips intertwining and the breathing lingered in the quiet bedroom for a while.
Her chest fluttered in the stifling heat. As the heat gathered below, she subconsciously twisted her legs and let out a whimper.
It was only when Riette gasped for breath as she clutched his shirt that he slowly released her.
“Haah…”
Cain rose from the bed. With his usual upright posture, he straightened his waist and tilted his head slightly to look down at her. His cold and expressionless face matched his intense facial features perfectly.
“The Princess is a very, very bad woman.”
Riette tilted her head in confusion. It was a term she had never heard before. A bad woman? Rather, wasn’t that a word that didn’t match her?
He must have read the question in her expression because he spoke in a lower tone than usual.
“You said it as if it were just a one-night plaything to the man who will soon be your husband.”
