I clenched my fists tightly, holding back tears as I thought about the effort I had put in over the past few days to avoid Albert. I really had tried so hard not to run into him.

Now, everything was ready.

It was time to talk to Albert about the plan I had prepared.

‘Some parts of it were a bit impulsive.’

After talking with Mercy, I had even added a ribbon, which wasn’t part of the original plan when I stopped by the tower.

‘I also made sure to clean the tower thoroughly.’

I had changed the atmosphere inside as well. I covered the bed with a calm green sheet (I did it myself because I was worried a maid might let it slip to Albert) and replaced the bedding with fresh, clean ones. The bed was now the largest size, an extra king size.

It wasn’t difficult now that I could comfortably use magic.

Doing the things I had been putting off for a while felt refreshing. I also placed a potted plant on Albert’s desk and prepared all the ingredients in the kitchen where I used to cook.

The brown desk, the calm green bed, and the potted plants and picture frames scattered around created a cozy atmosphere that was different yet familiar. It was nice to have a space that preserved memories while being suitably redecorated.

I was looking forward to spending a vacation here with Albert.

After briefly stopping by Joos’s bedroom, I welcomed Alexander, who arrived with the news that Albert had returned to the bedroom.

“I brought snacks this time! The sweets here are just the right amount of sweet,” Alexander said, waving energetically and dropping snacks from both hands.

The snacks included my favorite Korean treats like Bxnch, Chxco Pie and Oh Yxs. I had wondered what he would bring this time, and it turned out to be Korean snacks.

“It’s been a while,” I greeted him.

“Yeah, congratulations on your second child!”

Alexander beamed at Joos.

“He’s cute. He doesn’t have magic, but he looks smart. I bet he’ll be as clever as I am,” he added confidently.

I tilted my head, amused.

“Are you smart, Alexander?”

“Of course I am!”

As he declared this, he hesitated for a moment before feigning indignation.

“I’m regretting coming here to babysit.”

Alexander grumbled, though his beaming smile as he held Joos suggested otherwise.

“Oh, it’s Alexander!”

Adela and Blanc greeted him, Adela carrying a pillow, suggesting she planned to sleep with Joos.

“Mom, I’m planning to sleep beside Joos today. It starts at midnight, so technically, it begins tomorrow.”

My daughter is so meticulous.

“What’s this?”

Adela asked, noticing the snacks.

“I brought these. Want to share?”

“Um, but it’s late…”

Adela trailed off, glancing at me hesitantly.

She’s so predictable.

“It’s okay as long as you don’t eat next to Joos. Be sure to clean up after you’re done, alright?”

I relented with a smile, allowing the late-night snack.

“Mom, you’re the best!”

Adela exclaimed, tearing open the snacks, with Blanc sitting beside her.

Watching the two of them meticulously open the snack wrappers, I couldn’t help but laugh at the seriousness of the scene.

“Hello, Joos, I’m your uncle.”

Alexander was busy making faces at Joos. The warm, lively atmosphere was truly heartwarming. I watched everyone contentedly before stepping out of the room.

It was about time to go back and talk to Albert.

When I entered the room, the bed was empty. The sound of water running from the connected bathroom indicated that Albert was still showering.

‘I should shower too.’

I quickly showered in the second bathroom connected to the room, worried Albert might fall asleep. I changed into my nightgown.

Even though it was only two days, Albert likely knew I had been avoiding him on purpose.

He must have realized I had been evading him for a few days now.

‘Is he angry?’

But once he understands what I had been preparing, he would surely forgive me.

Taking a deep breath, I opened the bathroom door.

Peeking out, I saw Albert.

Sitting on the bed, he was dressed in only a robe.
