When the situation from back then resurfaced along with a brief recollection, memories brought back the pain as I felt a strange sensation, almost as if my throat was being burned. As I did my best to suppress those memories while studying Heron’s face, Vuien, who observed me looking at Heron, playfully suggested with a mischievous expression.

Heron’s face wrinkled in a flash at Vien’s suggestion. Despite the formidable energy emanating from Heron’s gray eyes, he smiled as if he were having fun.

Heron remained firm, even in the face of Vien’s deft response.

I also felt that something was wrong as I observed his demeanor. While it was true that he took pride in being an Aidelis, it didn’t seem like he was trying to shield my presence, which was like a blemish to Aidelis, to prevent Vien from pointing out his shortcomings or flaws.
