I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 21
Chapter 21
His damp and moist tongue inadvertently brushed against the back of my hand.
“Ahh!”
[Decreasing mental state by 10.]
Reflexively, I grabbed the watering can I was holding and…
Splash!
I flipped it over and covered the head of the seeker with it. The water spilled out, soaking the seeker’s clothes.
“Let’s run!”
I grabbed Dekir’s hand, and we ran like crazy.
“What kind of game is this?”
Was it because his head was inside the watering can? The seeker’s voice echoed as if coming from a cave.
<Covering my eyes like this…>
With noisy laughter, a sharp sound cutting through the air approached.
<It’s not that I can’t find you.>
“It’s dangerous, Heyna!”
Swiftly, Dekir cut off the long tongue that leaped towards the back of my head with garden shears. The detached piece of tongue wriggled on the ground like a fish.
‘I almost died…!’
Without realizing it, I turned my head. The bloody tongue, poking out of the watering can hole where the water should have come out, was stretched and wriggling like a hose.
<Wow! You reacted faster than the other guy earlier, brother!>
The seeker shouted with an excited voice and clapped, using the back of his hand instead of his palm. I had a vague memory of seeing this somewhere before. They say ghosts clap with the back of their hands, not their palms.
When I heard that story, I didn’t think much of it and just brushed it off. I never imagined that I would witness a scene where someone claps with the back of their hand.
‘I don’t want to do this anymore!’
I should keep running, but my legs are sapped of their strength, so I ended up sitting there. I didn’t have the confidence to survive against such a monster for the remaining time.
‘If I die, maybe I can leave the game?’
If I die, the game might end… Perhaps I could escape from this horrifying nightmare. But if the game doesn’t end…
“Heyna!”
Dekir’s voice interrupted my half-hearted thoughts.
Meanwhile, the seeker’s head, which had come out of the watering can, elongated like a snake and approached me. The seeker’s mouth widened, about to swallow my head…
“Run away!”
Dekir pushed me away and swung the scissors he was holding. As expected, the seeker lightly moved his neck back, avoiding the scissors.
<It’s fun! So much fun! Brother, sister, play with me a little longer!>
The seeker laughed gleefully and reached out his hand. His fingers, sharpened like claws, extended towards Dekir. He narrowly avoided the attack. The pursuer’s claws got caught in the rose vines behind Dekir.
<How annoying.>
Thud.
With a flick of his hand, the rose vine was uprooted. The vine flew like a piece of paper and landed at the edge of the garden.
‘Insane. What absurd power…’
Dekir swallowed dryly as he watched the vine fly off into the distance.
“Heyna, you’re going to get us both killed if you keep this up, so you should run, and I’ll try to stall for time here.”
My heart, which hadn’t been doing its job because of exhaustion, thumped as soon as I heard Dekir’s words.
“What are you talking about? Leaving you behind and running away?”
“It’s okay. I saved earlier. So even if I die, I can come back to life like a game character, right?”
That’s right, they had done that before. I was the only one with a single life here. And I…
‘I have to survive somehow.’
I might experience even more horrifying things in the future. Even if I don’t understand why I ended up in this game or how I became Heyna.
‘I don’t want to die in a place like this.’
“…Sorry, Dekir.”
No matter how much he told me to run away, can I really escape? It can’t be helped. I can’t start over, so I have to survive for now.
<Huh? Sister, where are you?>
“Kid, you should play with your brother.”
Dekir swung the scissors towards the seeker, who was trying to catch him.
<Are you going to play with me?”
The ear-piercing sound of friction resounded repeatedly, but I didn’t look back and ran away.
‘The remaining time…!’
[00:20]
There’s only 20 seconds left. Since Dekir was buying me time, I decided to run as far away as possible during that time. I desperately hoped that Dekir would hold onto him for at least 10 seconds. But my wish didn’t come true.
With a terrifying force, I ran out of the door and into the corridor.
Bam!
Instead, I hit the door as it was closed again.
<Where are you going, sister?>
Suddenly, the seeker who had caught up to me whispered in my ear. His snake-like neck extended long and wrapped around my body without any resistance.
