I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 117
Chapter 117
“Ugh…”
As awareness returned, I saw Dekir’s face, his eyes closed as he held me tightly.
“Dekir?”
His face, devoid of color, his eyes still closed, made him look like he was dead. My heart plummeted. I quickly brought my fingers to the space beneath his nose. A regular breath touched my skin.
Thank goodness.
Relieved he was alive, I sat up and looked around. Metal fragments were scattered everywhere—remnants of the elevator I’d been in moments before.
If the elevator is in that state…
I checked my status window.
[Heyna Blaise – ○○○ Player] ♥
Health: 100/100
Mental Strength: 85/200
Just as I feared. The life I’d barely regained was almost gone, and my mental strength was down to double digits.
A complete mess.
For the first time, I regretted my choice. If I’d known this would happen, I would have listened to Dekir. Why did I always insist on making things difficult for myself?
As I lamented my needless meddling, Dekir suddenly sat up.
“Heyna!”
Just as I had, the first thing he did upon opening his eyes was check on me.
“Are you alright?”
“Yes, I’m fine. You, Dekir?”
“I’m alright too. More importantly, where are we…?”
Following his gaze, I took in our surroundings.
“It looks like… a corridor.”
With a wall blocking the way behind us, there was only one direction we could go.
“Shall we go forward?”
“Yes, let’s.”
Holding Dekir’s hand, I slowly walked down the corridor. My clothes, torn in places from the fall, snagged at my feet with each step. One of my shoes was missing, leaving one foot bare. Thankfully, the corridor floor was clean, so there was little risk of injury.
What a state we were in. Dekir looked as disheveled as I felt. His usually neat hair was tousled, and several buttons on his shirt were missing, revealing glimpses of his chest as he moved.
…Surprisingly, it’s not a bad look.
How could someone look so perfect even when disheveled? Perhaps it was simply his inherent attractiveness.
“Heyna?” Dekir turned his head, seemingly aware of my gaze.
“Huh? What?”
“Is there something on my face?”
“What? No.”
“Really? You kept looking, so I thought I had something on my face.”
“Uh, what? When was I staring?”
Dekir chuckled as I vehemently shook my head.
“Really? I must have been mistaken.”
I thought I’d managed to deflect his attention, but…
“Heyna.” He called out to me again.
“Wait a moment. Stand still.”
“Huh?”
Dekir leaned down in front of me, his large hand gently cupping my chin.
“…Dekir?”
He pulled me closer by my waist, his voice low.
“Stay still.”
His face drew nearer. Reflected in his clear, glass-like eyes, I saw my own bewildered expression.
Why is he doing this all of a sudden?!
As his slightly parted lips approached, I instinctively squeezed my eyes shut. Something touched my tightly closed lips. Soft and smooth, yet firmer than lips…
A finger?
Dekir’s thumb slowly traced the outline of my lips.
“You have a cut here.”
As he spoke, I felt a sting where his finger touched, confirming the presence of a cut.
“I-It’s fine. It doesn’t even hurt!”
I stumbled backward, my heart pounding in my chest.
How embarrassing. Just now, Dekir looked like he was…
…Like what! It’s not like I thought he was going to kiss me or anything!
I was just startled by the sudden proximity of his face. My racing heart was simply a reaction to the surprise.
As I took deep breaths to calm myself, a faint figure appeared far down the corridor. A dim light, its source unknown, barely illuminated the dark passage. At the end, a flash of red hair and a red dress shimmered.
“Rose…?”
As I spoke her name, the red hair swayed.
She’s wearing a mask.
She turned, revealing a white mask. The distance and the mask made it impossible to see her face clearly.
“Rose? Is that you?”
She turned away without answering.
“Dekir, let’s follow her!”
Together, we ran after her.
She’s incredibly fast!
Even though she seemed to be walking leisurely, no matter how fast we ran, we couldn’t close the distance. If anything, she seemed to be moving further away.
