I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 107
Chapter 107
The ornate exterior, gilded with intricate designs, belied the mundane interior.
“Tommy, would you mind checking inside? Just to make sure there’s nothing strange.”
“What? Why me…?”
“If you’re scared, I can go. But then you’ll have to hold this button down.”
“…Who said I was scared?!”
Tommy stomped inside, scrutinized the space, and returned.
“So?”
“So, what? It’s just an elevator. Although, there’s no button for the fourth floor.”
“What?”
“It only goes up to the third.”
“Are you sure you checked properly?”
“Yeah. If you don’t believe me, go look yourself.”
No button?
“I’ll go check.”
I stepped inside and examined the elevator buttons. At the bottom was the button for the first floor, followed by the second and third. And then….
“Hey, there’s a fourth floor button.”
“Huh? That’s impossible.”
A bewildered Tommy approached. He checked the buttons again, then scoffed.
“Are you blind? Where’s the four?”
Then I understood why Tommy hadn’t seen it.
“Here, this ‘F’ is for the fourth floor.”
“Huh? How is that the fourth floor?”
Before Tommy could finish grumbling, Zion chuckled and explained.
“You might not know this, Tommy, but the number four is considered unlucky. So, in buildings frequented by the upper class, or in hospitals, the fourth floor is often marked with an ‘F’.”
“….”
Tommy’s face flushed crimson.
“So, what do we do now?” I quickly changed the subject to spare Tommy further embarrassment.
“I don’t see any other option… Shall we just get on?”
Zion casually stepped inside the elevator.
At that moment, a familiar window appeared before my eyes.
[Chapter 3 – A Strange and Pleasant Rest]
[Mission] Take the elevator to the fourth floor.
(Reward)
“Looks like we’re supposed to take the elevator,” Zion observed.
“Yeah, and the reward is probably another useless ‘memory fragment’ or whatever.”
Tommy and Zion must have also received the mission window.
Wait a minute….
‘Why don’t I have a reward?’
Whenever others received a mission with a memory fragment as a reward, mine was always ‘distortion.’ But this time, the reward space was empty.
‘I need that distortion….’
The first and second memory fragments had confirmed my fears. The moment anyone saw them, I’d be branded the villain.
“The save function is active. We should save before anything happens.”
While Zion and Tommy saved, I discreetly checked the system window.
[New Game]
[Load Game]
[Collection]
[Exit]
As expected, the save function wasn’t activated for me.
It’s not even worth checking anymore. I guess I’m living on one life until I can get out of this game.
Instead of saving, I opened the collection tab, now marked with a red notification.
【Collection】 4/20
1. Distorted First Memory Fragment
2. Distorted Second Memory Fragment

11. Severed Wrist Seeking Its Owner
12. Anna
13.
14. Napolitan
Two memory fragments and three ghosts. A total of four items in my collection.
‘The memory fragments are one thing, but why are ghosts being added to my collection?’
After a cursory check, I opened the status window.
[Heyna Blanche – ○○○ Player] ♥x2
HP: 100/100
Mental: 110/200
After a few days of rest, my health was back to normal.
‘My mental state is already almost halved. What happens when it reaches zero?’
My anxiety was momentarily interrupted by a strange detail. The heart symbols next to my name….
In most games, hearts represent the player’s lives. Two hearts would mean two lives.
‘But when did I get an extra life?’
I don’t recall receiving a life as a mission reward….
Or did I?
‘Maybe it was a simple mission, offering an extra life as an incentive to survive. How condescending.’
‘Do they think I’d just accept it without a second thought?’
‘They seem to know me quite well―’
‘They do!’
