“I can’t take off the bracelet.”
“Can’t take it off?”
Ezio furrowed his brow and shrugged indifferently. He grabbed Armilla’s wrist and pulled on the bracelet with force, but it didn’t budge. Frustrated, he exclaimed,
“Damn it, it’s enchanted, isn’t it?”
The grumbling Ezio sighed heavily and said again.
“Why don’t you just settle down here and live as a mistress? It’s better than begging on the streets.”
“Easy for you to say. Would you have said the same if I claimed to be the Knight Commander’s younger sibling?”
“Why are you bringing up my sibling here? You’re not my family!”
Ezio snapped irritably. He had been calmly conversing a moment ago but suddenly lost his temper.
Armilla touched her forehead, frustrated by Ezio’s unpredictable behavior. Convincing someone with such a fiery personality, possibly due to his mercenary background, was challenging.
However, she needed Ezio’s help.
Since Ricardo had ordered Ezio to repent, he wouldn’t accompany Ricardo to the imperial palace. Moreover, being a Knight Commander, he could be discreetly moving. There was no better candidate for the task.
Armilla took a deep breath and spoke patiently.
“If I were the Knight Commander’s family, you definitely wouldn’t recommend this choice, would you? I’m someone’s family too. I want to leave this place and go to my family.”
“Hmm…”
Ezio looked at Armilla that was filled with sincerity with a softened expression. But soon, his eyes filled with suspicion as he asked.
“What about the Master? You like him.”
“To like a man who wants to make me his mistress?”
Armilla chuckled ruefully and continued bitterly,
“If I liked him, I wouldn’t have tried to escape. I wouldn’t have tried to run away again.”
“Do you know where your family is?”
Armilla slowly shook her head. She smiled sadly and replied.
“I’ll try to find them after leaving this place.”
“Considering everything I’ve seen in life, you’re quite amazing.”
Ezio crossed his arms and spoke slowly. There was a hint of sympathy in his gaze as he looked at Armilla.
“So, what can I do to help?”
With Ezio’s question, Armilla finally felt that things were starting to fall into place. She looked at him directly and began to explain.

At night, when everyone was fast asleep.
Armilla couldn’t sleep, even as dawn approached.
Unusually, the side of her bed was empty.
It was because Ricardo had to handle the piled-up tasks before he left for the imperial palace.
Until now, he had never taken his watchful eyes off her for a moment, but his duties as a lord couldn’t be ignored.
Armilla thought of Ricardo who was working in his office and took a deep breath. She had to calm the constant trembling in her heart.
After this night, Ricardo would depart for the imperial palace, and Armilla would escape with Ezio’s help.
‘I must succeed this time.’
Armila put her hand on her chest. Her heart was pounding because of nervousness.
Escaping from Ricardo would not be easy.
Since her previous escape and capture, Ricardo had become increasingly obsessed with her. He made sure she couldn’t take a single step outside her room and stationed knights to guard her door day and night.
It seemed impossible to escape this situation, but Armilla knew she had to. She carefully went over the plan she had discussed with Ezio during the day.
Once Ricardo left the mansion, Ezio, using his status as the Knight Commander, would send the guarding knights away. Ezio had even agreed to assist Armilla in leaving the mansion.
After that, Armilla would need to navigate the snowy mountains. Once she got past the mountains, she planned to hide in a convent near the border with Segolinde.
Ezio had mentioned that there was a convent in that area.
Armilla intended to wait in the convent until the cold weather subsided before crossing into Segolinde. She hoped to make a living as a tutor there.
Most likely, she would have to give birth in the convent or Segolinde.
Regardless of the location, Armilla was determined to not give birth in Renato’s Black Castle. She wanted to bring her child into the world in a safe place without any threats to its life.
‘It will be alright, baby.’
Armilla smiled gently. The thought of protecting her child filled her with newfound strength.
Unlike before, when she had been weak and lethargic due to the drugs she had been given, she now felt like she could easily climb the snowy mountains.
Bang.
Suddenly, her hopeful heart was interrupted by the loud sound of the door being opened. Ricardo’s heavy, looming shadow cast over Armilla’s bed as he barged into the room.
“….Armilla.”
Armilla closed her eyes at the low voice. As the door slammed shut behind Ricardo, the rustling of clothes filled the room.
