I Don't Need the Grand Duke's Regret - Chapter 28
Chapter 28

Bianca flinched at the unexpected attack and retorted.
“Do you think His Grace would give such great authority to someone like you?”
“Well? What do you think?”
Armilla answered as leisurely as possible. She shouldn’t let Bianca doubt it.
Bianca is right. Ricardo will not delegate authority to Armilla. Because what he wants is a wife who will just keep quiet.
But Bianca doesn’t know that. So wouldn’t it be okay to show off a little bit?
“I wonder what I will do first when I become Grand Duchess tomorrow. Bi.an.ca?”
Armilla deliberately pronounced Bianca’s name slowly, one syllable at a time. As if she were chewing to remember her name.
“Hng! Luce, you. Just know I’ll talk about it at the dorm!”
Bianca rolled her eyes and then made a threat to the maid behind Armilla. And before Armilla could say anything, Bianca was quickly out of the back of the warehouse.
Armilla stood there until Bianca disappeared, but when Bianca was completely gone, she sat down. Her legs became weak and she found it difficult to stand.
“Hah, uhh, huuuh.”
Armilla turned her eyes to the sobbing coming from beside her. The maid who had been crying earlier was shedding tears without getting tired.
Armilla chuckled as she saw the tears welling up on the white chin and the snot running down her nose.
“Was your name Luce?”
“Yes, yes…….”
Armilla, who was listening to Luce’s answer, gathered her eyebrows together. The way she cried looked like a child, and the way she spoke was just like a child.
Due to that feeling of disparity, it was difficult to guess Luce’s age. Armilla, who was observing Luce, asked cautiously.
“Hey, how old is Luce?”
“Luce is six, six years old, huuh, mooom…….”
Luce stuttered out an answer and cried again. Armilla had a blank look as she looked at the woman whose size was no different from hers.
Armilla slowly understood the situation.
Although Luce looked like an adult on the outside, she was still a child on the inside. That’s probably why Bianca bullied Luce without hesitation.
Armilla, who was looking at the crying Luce, saw firewood scattered on the floor.
‘I guess she got caught by Bianca trying to give this to me.’
Armilla gathered up all the firewood she had left. Then Luce, who had been crying, began to sob and help.
“This, huh, give. Luce’s work.”
Armilla handed Luce the firewood and gave her a sweet smile. After understanding the situation, a strange sense of camaraderie arose along with gratitude towards Luce.
Because Luce was also hated here.
Like Armilla.
Armilla asked quietly, in her most caring voice, so as not to startle Luce.
“I see. What is Luce’s work?”
“Clean main building. Make stairs sparkle.”
“And?”
“White room, hiccup, firewood.”
Luce hugged the firewood tightly like it was something precious. Armilla said with her eyes focused on the firewood in Luce’s arms.
“I heard Bianca told you not to do that. No one ordered it.”
“St, still. Have to do it.”
“Why?”
“It, it’s so cold today. Lady Armira is cold too. If it’s cold, she catch a cold. Sick.”
Armilla was moved to tears by Luce’s words. While listening to Luce’s slow explanation, her eyes heated up.
In a world where no one cared about Armilla, there was someone who cared about her.
Armilla reached out her hand to Luce and hugged her. She held her as warmly as her gentle heart.
“Oh……?”
Luce, who was being held without knowing why, struggled and tried to push Armilla away.
“Don’t hit, Luce hurts….”
“Yes, Luce. I’m not hitting you. I’m thanking you.”
“Thank? Why?”
Hearing Armilla’s answer, Luce sniffed her nose and asked. Armilla said, stroking her brown hair.
“Because Luce is a good person.”
“Luce good?”
“Yes, Luce is very good.”
“Hehe.”
Luce smiled brightly at Armilla’s kind praise. A smile spread across Armilla’s face as Luce smiled happily with teardrops in her eyes.
“Luce, let’s go now. Would you like to bring the firewood to the White Room with me?”
Armilla pulled up her sleeve and wiped Luce’s nose. Luce blinked her round eyes as Armilla wiped her runny nose.
“Together? Why?”
“I’m staying in that room.”
Luce’s eyes widened at Armilla’s answer. Luce stared at Armilla and blinked her eyes rapidly.
“Then Sister is Armira?”
“Not Armira, Armilla.”
“Armira.”
Luce rubbed her lips and spoke after Armilla. Armilla, who was helping Luce up, laughed at Luce’s slurred pronunciation.
“Yes, I am Armira.”
“Wow!”
Luce opened her mouth wide like a child discovering a strange toy. Armilla burst into laughter as she watched Luce stomp her feet, hugging the bundle of firewood.
“Ahaha!”
“Lady Armira, why are you laughing? Tell Luce too!”
Luce asked the brightly laughing Armilla with an innocent face. The more Luce spoke, the louder Armilla’s laughter became.
