I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 142
Chapter 142
His unfinished words faded as his soul dissipated, leaving behind only an empty shell.
“Mistress, are you alright?” Kiris supported me as I stumbled, my strength depleted. I clung to consciousness, wanting to witness this moment, the end of it all.
“Yes. It’s over.”
“Yes, Mistress. You saved the Empire.” Kiris’s affirmation brought a wave of exhaustion crashing down on me. I lost consciousness in his arms.

The Sestronia Empire, once shrouded in darkness, was revitalized. The war against the Demon King, which had seemed destined to be a long and arduous conflict, ended swiftly, and peace returned.
Aria Eckart, the Emperor’s illegitimate daughter, adopted into the Duke Eckart’s family, received unanimous support from the remaining nobles and ascended to the throne, succeeding Cedric.
“The Imperial family values the harmony between the Temple and the Magic Tower.”
She moved quickly to dismantle the power structure that had allowed her predecessor to summon the Demon King and to establish a new balance of power. First, with Pope Noctis at the helm, she purged the corruption within the Temple and fostered devout followers.
“Summoning an Demon King is forbidden. We will work with the Magic Tower to prohibit demonic magic, all forms of dark magic.” The Magic Tower pledged to uphold the balance of power and banned dark magic.
Damian, Cedric’s advisor, was captured while attempting to flee, his magical traces betraying him. He was executed, serving as an example to other dark magic practitioners.
“Countess Rosette Harkien! You’ve arrived!”
“Oh, Louis. Please, just call me Rosette.”
“But you’ll be co-leading the Magic Tower with me! It’s good to start flattering you early, isn’t it?”
“Call me whatever you like…” I chuckled softly, glancing around at the mages.
As the Saint chosen by the God Moreus and the hero who vanquished the Demon King, I had been granted the title of Countess by Empress Aria.
I was given the surname Harkien, establishing a new noble lineage.
‘How embarrassing.’
The nobles hailed me as the savior of the Empire.
[You deserve it, Mistress! You should know it’s all thanks to me.]
“Snow, it was thanks to everyone I love who helped me.” I stroked Snow’s fur, smiling.
Snow, who had vanished after exhausting his energy, reappeared as soon as I recovered. He claimed the God Moreus, taking pity on me, had ordered him to stay by my side until my death.
‘Well, I’m not complaining.’
We had grown close over time, and I was overjoyed to have him back. Plus, he had healing powers!
I touched the flowers placed in my room at the Magic Tower, a gift from Terrion and Ailt.
Tomorrow was my engagement day with Kiris. Terrion and Aria were pursuing their own budding romance, while Ailt, having accepted that his feelings for me were unrequited, was focusing on his family’s affairs.
‘I really had no idea he liked me.’
He confessed his feelings to me privately… Ailt had helped me immensely, and I was sure he would find someone special. I had prayed to the God Moreus for him.
“Helena, are your injuries healed?”
“Yes, Lady Rosette. Thanks to Snow, I wasn’t seriously injured. How are you feeling?”
“With my divine power, I healed quickly. I’m perfectly fine!” Helena smiled gently at me.
“Mistress.”
Kiris, dressed impeccably, entered and addressed me affectionately.
“Well, we have some business to attend to…” Helena, dragging a beaming Louis by the arm, led him out of the room, tactfully giving us some privacy. I smiled at Helena, who winked at me as she left.
“I missed you.”
Kiris’s eyes crinkled at the corners. He smiled and extended his hand to me.
“You know tomorrow’s our engagement, right?”
“Of course. How could I forget? I’ve been looking forward to it every single day.”
“Haha. How can you be so lovely?” Kiris chuckled softly and pulled me into an embrace. I could feel his joy in the way he held me. Basking in his warmth, I wished this moment could last forever. It had been such a difficult journey.
“Do you remember?”
“Hmm?” I leaned against Kiris’s shoulder, reminiscing.
“When we first met. You came to me with no memory.”
“Yes. I wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for you, Mistress.”
“Don’t think like that. I saved you, and that became our destiny.”
“Yes, Mistress.” Kiris kissed my cheek softly and continued. “I haven’t forgotten my promise to serve you for the rest of my life.”
“Can’t you just call me Rosette? We’re getting engaged tomorrow.”
“Since you’re a Countess now, should I call you Countess?”
“What? That’s ridiculous!”
“Mistress.” Kiris scooped me up and gently placed me on the bed, his eyes sparkling with playful desire.
“May I love you forever?” After a brief, sweet kiss, I smiled and gave a slight nod.
“I love you.” Kiris gazed at me lovingly as I shyly confessed my feelings. The days I had longed for were finally within reach, and the realization brought tears of joy to my eyes. Now, we begin again.
The end.
