I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 141
Chapter 141
Blood splattered and corpses littered the ground, a scene reminiscent of a battlefield.
No, for humans, it was more accurately described as hell. Countless demons enslaved humans, ruthlessly stealing their souls. In this hopeless place stood Kiris.
“Where… where am I?”
Kiris had been confronting Cedric, possessed by the Demon King, when he suddenly lost consciousness. He awoke to find himself in the heart of this hellish landscape.
His sharp, analytical mind, honed by years of magical study, quickly deduced that this was an illusion.
‘Not even the greatest magic could conjure something this vivid. What is this?’
Kiris could confidently say he had never witnessed such a realistic illusion. It wasn’t magic; it was something else entirely. As this thought crossed his mind, a rustling sound reached his ears, and he instantly went on high alert.
‘A demon.’
A creaking sound echoed. The demon possessed immense magical power, enough to make Kiris’s veins bulge.
It was the same Demon King-level power he had sensed from Cedric. Reacting instantly, Kiris unleashed a spell. It shot towards its target with blinding speed.
In that split second, Kiris felt a flicker of familiarity emanating from the demon before him.
‘What?’
Demons were the source of evil, meant to be eradicated. But this demon, cloaked in a robe, exuded a familiar aura.
The thought caused Kiris’s magic to go slightly astray. The demon twisted its body, dodging the attack, but made no hostile move toward Kiris.
‘How dare it.’
Kiris cast another spell, but it too missed, this time grazing his own arm. Seeing the blood flow freely from the wound, a sharp pain tore through his heart.
‘Why am I doing this?’
Consumed by the need to destroy the demon, Kiris finally regained his senses.
‘I have to get out of here.’
Lost memories began to resurface. Memories he had forgotten the moment he entered this place.
Rosette. It was clear that Rosette, the woman he loved, was in danger. Helena was guarding her, but she couldn’t withstand Cedric’s immense power. He had to get back to her. Fighting this demon was pointless.
Just as he reached this conclusion, the robe fell away, revealing the demon’s form. Kiris’s eyes widened in shock.
“Mistress?”
The repulsive demon he had been attacking was none other than Rosette. In that moment, Kiris’s world began to crack.
As he realized this world was a demonic creation, the illusion shattered. He desperately reached for Rosette. But with each step he took, she drifted further away.
Consumed by loss and self-reproach, Kiris could only stare as the world dissolved around him. Light flared, and the world crumbled.

“Kiris…?”
I cautiously opened my eyes, roused by the receding sense of danger. Kiris stared back at me, his movements frozen mid-spell, as if he had returned to his former self.
“Do you recognize me?”
At my words, Kiris opened his eyes. “Mistress…”
His pupils, blackened by the Demon King’s influence, returned to their natural crimson. He wore an expression of utter shock.
“I… I…” His gaze fell to my injured arm. His face, etched with self-blame and despair, looked as if it might crumble.
“Kiris, it’s just a scratch. Don’t worry.”
“No. I attacked you, Mistress. I was under an illusion.”
“It wasn’t your fault.” I pulled the trembling Kiris into a hug, forcing a smile.
“So many were lost. Helena has fallen, and Snow is gone, injured protecting me…”
“Mistress…”
I brushed away the tears that had escaped without my permission and spoke brightly.
“If we defeat the Demon King, everyone can be happy. I’ll stop him.”
I glanced sideways at Cedric, who was still absorbing souls. He stopped mid-absorption and stared at Kiris in disbelief.
“How…!”
I released Kiris and turned to face Cedric. A smirk played on my lips as I spoke. “It’s over. Your Majesty, or rather, Cedric.”
With those words, I gathered all my divine power. Despite absorbing souls, Cedric was weakened from the previous battle. This was the perfect opportunity to destroy him.
‘Snow. Helena. And everyone I love.’
Faces of those I cherished flashed before my eyes. They all deserved happiness. And I would make sure they got it.
A brilliant light burst forth.
[You can do it.]
It felt as though the God Moreus himself had descended, lending me his strength. I poured all my energy into the attack, a wave of divine power engulfing the Demon King.
“No!” Cedric writhed and screamed, but the divine light showed no sign of fading.
“Mistress, I’ll cover you.” Kiris, in a final act of defiance, used his magic to deflect the incoming shards of demonic energy.
“Argh!” Cedric thrashed wildly, but it was no use. His power waned, consumed by the divine light, until he finally vanished.
“…I… I just wanted to save my sister…” Cedric’s body, with its empty eyes and blood-stained face, collapsed.
