I Became the Villain's Master - Chapter 103
Chapter 103
* * *
After a brief moment of weightlessness, then I opened my eyes. I found myself in a strange place, far from home. I had been kidnapped in the blink of an eye!
“Where am I? Who am I?”
“We’ve arrived, Mistress.”
A sweet voice drew my attention to a towering spire that seemed to pierce the heavens.
“Wh… where is this?”
“The Magic Tower. The place you longed to visit, Mistress.”
Did I long to visit this place? Wasn’t this where Kiris wanted to bring me?
I wanted to correct him, but I feared he might send me somewhere even worse if I did. Instead, a small voice of protest escaped my lips.
“But why did you teleport me here so suddenly?”
“I thought you might not want to follow otherwise.”
He knew! It seemed Kiris had recently discovered the ability to read my mind.
He smiled at my startled expression and offered me his hand like an escort. “Take my hand, Mistress.”
As I cautiously placed my hand on his, Kiris smiled brightly and activated his magic.
Clang! The magnificent door slid open, revealing the interior in all its splendor. Chandeliers, brighter than Kiris’s face, illuminated the room.
“Welcome to the Magic Tower.”
Escorted by Kiris, I stepped into the Magic Tower and my jaw dropped at the sight before me. ‘The Magic Tower is like this?’
No wonder. The interior was a harmonious blend of endless ceilings and chandeliers, resembling a noble mansion’s version of a temple. ‘I thought it would only have materials for experiments.’
Reading novels, I often pictured days spent conducting magical experiments inside, skipping meals. But it didn’t take long to realize my preconceived notions were wrong.
“Sir Kiris! You’ve arrived!”
A deafeningly loud voice echoed. Simultaneously, a red carpet unfurled, and robed mages appeared. From a mage with a long white beard to one with hair so long it obscured their face, they were a diverse group. Strangely, they all looked at me with awe.
“Kiris…?” I whispered.
Kiris smiled with satisfaction. “What do you think?”
“I didn’t know the Magic Tower was like this. And the mages are all so kind…”
But why are they looking at me like that? Anyone would think I’m the master of the Magic Tower.
As I trailed off, Kiris gestured somewhere.
“As practiced!”
The mages moved in unison, forming an orderly line on both sides.
“…?”
I tilted my head, wondering what was going on.
‘What in the world is happening?’
My perception of mages was redefined. They were people who loved magic but also enjoyed hosting guests. Or maybe there was no other way to explain this.
“Oh…! Who is the lady?!”
The green-haired mage at the front of the line had sparkling eyes.
“I am…”
“Wait.”
As I slowly opened my mouth, Kiris raised his hand to stop me. Then, with a gentle smile, he activated his magic.
“I have something to show you, Mistress.”
“…?”
Clack! As Kiris gave me a heart-stopping smile and snapped his fingers, a gust of wind blew, and something fell from the sky.
I looked up to see flower petals slowly descending, carried by the wind.
“Flowers?”
“You like them, don’t you? I prepared them.”
But the amount of petals was considerable. It was enough to fill an entire garden if all the flowers were plucked.
I wondered if I would be buried in petals and become a flower myself.
I expected to be bombarded with petals, but strangely, they disappeared before touching my body.
“Magic?”
“Yes. Isn’t it beautiful?”
“Yes…”
When Kiris replied with a surprised tone, I once again marveled at the greatness of magic.
I want to learn magic too!
Thinking of the twenty-five things I wanted to do if I learned magic, I jumped for joy.
“Mistress. A gift.”
Then Kiris placed a single yellow freesia flower on my hand.
“Is this magic too?”
“No. I picked it myself.”
At Kiris’s words, I felt my lips curl into a smile.
“Ahem. Ahem.”
I don’t know why he’s doing this, but I almost burst into laughter.
Mayday! Mayday! I should be used to this by now, but apparently not.
His face was too attractive.
I cleared my throat and looked away, inhaling the fragrance of the freesia flower. It was so fragrant that it reminded me of the flowers I smelled in Amoni’s garden.
“It smells good…”
Okay. I need to add this to my treasure list. Treasure number 47!
“Thank you.”
As I smiled brightly, Kiris’s red eyes flickered.
Well, it’s nice to feel good.
Honestly, who wouldn’t feel good receiving a gift!
“Mistress.”
As the petals fell, they obscured Kiris’s face, and his reddening lips twitched.
“Are you only going to thank me with words?”
“Hmm?”
