Chapter 247

Helios slowly went closer to Sera.
Despite deciding to do so, she was overcome with embarrassment again. Startled, she released her grip on his clothing.
“It… It might be good to go up now!”
Such a blatantly obvious excuse. Did she know what kind of expression she was making?
Helios thought that Sera, with her entire body blushing like a cute rabbit, was so adorable it was driving him crazy.
“Didn’t you say you needed more time earlier?”
“Ah, no! On second thought, I think I’m okay. I really want to see the stars quickly!”
Sera shook her head repeatedly, unable to meet his gaze.
She herself seemed to know that it was a ridiculous excuse.
“I thought you felt the same…”
Helios took another step closer to her.
He hadn’t intended to corner her against the wall, but Sera, startled, tried to back away.
To prevent her head from hitting the wall, he quickly slid his hand between her head and the wall.
“Heli… Wait, I…”
Sera placed her hand on his chest. If it was meant to slow him down, it had the opposite effect.
Every time she sweetly called his name while holding onto him, it felt like pouring oil on the fire blazing within him.
It felt like being besieged without any defenses.
He enjoyed the sound of his name when she called it.
He emphasized many times that she should call him by his nickname, a bit familiar but still difficult for her, for that very reason.
“If it feels that we’re going too fast…”
Helios, longing to touch her as soon as possible, spoke while holding back.
“You can tell me. I think I can stop if you say it now.”
Even though he knew he shouldn’t look, Helios’s eyes kept sliding from her blue irises, down her small nose, to her rosy lips.
He wanted to push forward just a little, but doing so might frighten Sera.
With that thought, Helios restrained himself.
“I…”
Sera’s small lips parted. She nervously bit her lip and then continued cautiously.
“I’m ready… I’m prepared.”
Like someone bracing themselves, Sera tightly closed her eyes. Her long eyelashes fluttered.
The small hand that had risen to his chest was now gripping his shirt tightly.
Helios gently pulled one of her hands away.
Then, he softly kissed the back of her hand, like a subject moved by his queen’s permission.
Taken by surprise by the soft touch of his lips, Sera’s eyes cautiously opened.
Realizing his face was right before her, she immediately closed her eyes again, but it was after she had already met Helios’s gaze.
Helios, finding even this scene adorable, laughed silently.
He slowly cradled Sera’s face, his head naturally tilting to the right.
Slowly, he closed his eyes.
And just as he was about to gently place his lips upon hers, a voice—that should not have been heard in this place—rang out.
“Hyung, you’re gonna kiss Sera?”
Both Sera and Helios’s hearts dropped with a thud.
Helios’s movement halted abruptly. Both of them snapped their eyes open simultaneously.
They slowly turned their heads, searching for the source of the voice.
“Y…Your Highness Ferre?”
“Rosé?”
The twins, hand in hand, were looking up at them from the stairs below.
Especially Ferre, who looked as if he might drool any moment with his mouth wide open.
Why were the children here? There were supposed to be knights standing guard at the entrance below.
Confused and frozen, Helios and Sera froze, staring down at the twins.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in the Star Palace?”
“You both were surely asleep…”
“How did you even get here…”
“We never mentioned this place…”
Sera and Helios were speechless, their faces a picture of shock.
“Were you in the middle of kissing?”
Ignoring Sera and Helios’s questions, Ferre continued to ask with a bright, innocent expression.
Standing next to him, Rosé nudged Ferre’s shoulder with her own.
“Hey, that’s not something you ask. It’s embarrassing.”
But Rosé’s words and her eyes told a different story.
Far from scolding her clueless brother, her gaze was filled with anticipation and excitement.
Her sparkling green eyes shone beautifully, filled with eager and heightened expectation.
“Pretend we aren’t hereeeeee. Continue what you were doing, it’s okaaaay.”
Rosé said in a teasing tone, giggling cheekily.
Her cheeks flushed pink as she blinked adorably.
Sera and Helios, daunted by Rosé’s daring tone, looked at each other, avoiding her gaze.
Only then did they realize the pose they had been in until now and were shockingly startled.
One of Helios’s hands was cradling Sera’s cheek, and the other was intensely clasped with hers.
How close their faces were, lips almost touching.
“It’s all a misunderstanding!”
Signaled by Sera’s high-pitched voice, they quickly pulled away from each other.
Along with the embarrassment, Sera’s excuse echoed within the tower, ‘It’s a misunderstanding. It’s a misunderstanding. It’s a misunderstanding!’
The more it was repeated, the less believable it seemed.
