His face, turned towards the night sky, was filled with excitement as if welcoming the spring that brought good news.
“When my Krug is healed, Father will finally allow me to go to the capital, right?”
Startled by the sudden question, Izeline and Michael turned to him. A wind of change was blowing through their peaceful lives in Souvri, but she was still uneasy.
Recalling Robert’s incurable Krug from the original story, she spoke cautiously.
“Master said it’ll take a little longer.”
However, she couldn’t be too forceful. It was agonizing to dampen his spirits when he was so happy. As expected, he didn’t seem to mind her words much.
“I’ve waited ten years; waiting a little longer is nothing.”
However, the closer it seemed, the harder it was to wait. He curled his lips into a smile, feeling a sense of relief. His right hand touched the uneven scar beneath his shirt.
