Despite Being an Extra, I'm the Villain's Childhood Friend - Chapter 56.2
Chapter 56.2
They had known each other long enough to uncover each other’s most embarrassing secrets. They were at the dangerous stage of potentially dropping bombshells on each other’s families at their wedding. Robert sighed in relief as he saw Izeline sulk.
Her earlier question had caught him off guard.
She’d asked what he had been doing last night, and he couldn’t possibly tell her he’d fallen asleep gazing at her face.
“Aren’t you studying today?”
Robert asked, surprised to see her sleeping in.
Izeline’s shoulders slumped at his question. Had he touched a nerve? With her lack of free time and the added pressure of magic lessons, she was understandably overwhelmed.
He was hesitating, wondering how to comfort her, when…
“It’s okay,” Izeline suddenly said, standing up resolutely.
“I’ll do what I can, and if I can’t, then so be it.”
Looking at the mountain of books in the room, her words seemed impossible. However, if it turned out today that she had no magical aptitude, not even a speck of mana, then all this studying would be pointless anyway.
“Izel? What’s with the sudden confidence?”
“Ah—what a refreshing morning.”
“Aren’t you going to get scolded by Master Gerald?”
He shook his head, and just then, a knock startled both Izeline and Robert. It wasn’t from the door. It was from the window.
Turning their heads, they saw Gerald floating outside.
“Master!” Izeline opened the window with wide eyes. She had seen it once before, but she still hadn’t gotten used to the levitation magic.
A flying man! But there was no time for admiration.
“Let’s go.”
“…Huh?”
Izeline, stunned by the sudden turn of events, didn’t register what was happening.
Robert, however, jumped up.
“What do you think you’re doing?! You crazy mage…!”
Izeline, finally understanding the situation, started screaming in terror. Gerald was pulling her arm, trying to drag her out the window.
From this dangerous height.
“Ahh! We’re on the second floor!”
“Don’t make a fuss! Just come quietly!”
“I’m going to fall! I’m going to die! Robert!”
To make matters worse, her feet caught on the windowsill, leaving her dangling horizontally in mid-air. Even without a fear of heights, it was a terrifying situation.
Izeline flailed, her arms wrapping around Gerald’s neck like a lifeline.
Robert’s face crumpled at the sight.
How dare he cling to Izeline!
She was the one clinging, but that was how it appeared to him. As he charged forward like a rhinoceros, Gerald’s face paled.
“Y-You crazy idiot, wait…”
“What’s going on?!”
Just then, Michael, alerted by the screams, burst into the room from the third floor.
His lime-green eyes widened in shock at the chaotic scene. Gerald floating in mid-air, Izeline dangling horizontally out the window, and Robert charging towards them.
Thwack!
“Uwaak!”
“Ahh!”
As Robert launched himself out the window…
Bang! Crash!
They all fell.
Michael, momentarily stunned by the loud noise, snapped out of it and rushed to the window. Leaning out and looking down, he was speechless.
“….”
Oh, dear. That obsessively clingy bastard.
Gerald, kicked by Robert, was groaning, clutching his side. Fortunately, Izeline seemed unharmed, cushioned by Robert’s body.
“Bwahahaha!”
A burst of laughter from above made Michael look up. Oren, leaning against the window frame on the third floor, was clutching his stomach, finding the whole situation hilarious.
