Among all the people Hyperion knew, Gemma and Tamil were the most loving couple. They even had five children together.
Though Gemma had said they wouldn’t have any more children out of concern for her health, both she and all five of her children were perfectly healthy.
So Hyperion had written a letter to them, who said they’d come to the capital slowly.
[ I need your advice. So come quickly. ]
Because of that message, the two had rushed to the capital.
That day was today.
They had been unpacking, thinking they would greet Hyperion the next day, but then Hyperion had come running like a madman to find them, bringing them straight into the central palace.
Gemma kept hitting her husband’s arm as she looked at the unusually downcast Hyperion.
“Do you think His Majesty wanted to make Her Majesty faint? Don’t you remember how His Majesty would get subtly excited every time she was mentioned? How long must he have waited for today?”
“I mean… that’s true, but…”
“You were a mess the first time too! His Majesty may be good at everything, but he’s allowed to be clumsy at one thing!”
Thanks to Gemma’s relentless scolding, now two men sat slumped and defeated.

At Gemma’s reassurance that Laniakea was physically unharmed, Hyperion finally let out a breath of relief.

When he turned his head, he saw that her position had shifted slightly.
‘Is she coming to?’
Hyperion hurried to her side.
Up close, her face had regained a bit of color. But to Hyperion, she still looked pale.
He lowered his gaze. Though she was under the blanket, he could clearly see her slender frame.
Compared to him, she was far too small. And yet, he had insisted on entering her body…
As the memory returned, Hyperion pressed his flushed nape with the back of his hand.
To recall that moment in this situation made him feel like the most repulsive beast on earth.
And yet, the image kept flashing before his eyes. Laniakea, sitting before him with a body even more delicate and beautiful than he had imagined.
The thing he had looked forward to most after his coronation was being able to finally be with her.
But that had been a huge misjudgment.
He had assumed, as emperor and empress, being together would be natural. But in reality, there had been more days when they didn’t see each other at all.
Hyperion often thought back to the former emperor and empress, who were always together when he returned to the palace.
He hadn’t thought much of it back then, but now, in hindsight, they must have loved each other in their own way. Otherwise, they couldn’t have stayed together like that all the time.
Either way, the moment he saw Laniakea today, he realized the dam holding back his emotions was starting to break.
Of course it would. It had been three years since they married.
He had pushed himself to the limit, slaughtering enemies just to free up time, heading to the palace without even washing properly—just to have a single meal with his wife.
His wife, who then stood before him, bare.
And in that moment, Hyperion found himself acting just like the lust-crazed men he had once mocked.
He wanted to hold her more.
He wanted to feel more.
So, even knowing she was struggling, he had buried himself deeper inside her.
And in that moment, he too had felt pain.
His overly sensitive body could feel every bit of the tight heat and pressure inside her.
But including the pain, every sensation had felt insanely good.
So good, he understood why other men became obsessed with the act.
And so, Hyperion had tried to go even deeper.
But just as he thrust his hips in and sank further in, Laniakea’s body had shuddered and gone limp.
She had fainted from the shock.
He felt guilty.
But he also felt a little resentful.
If it was that painful, she should’ve said something. Why hold back until she fainted…?
At that moment, Laniakea’s eyebrows twitched slightly.
Then, she slowly opened her eyes and blinked. Looking at Hyperion, she murmured,
“…Is this a dream?”
A dream? Did she see him as a nightmare?
Even as that worry crossed his mind, the words he’d been holding back in frustration suddenly burst out.
“Why didn’t you tell me to stop?”
He hadn’t meant to raise his voice, but it came out louder than he intended.
Laniakea’s dazed eyes widened. She realized this wasn’t a dream, and that he was speaking to her.
“If you’d just said something, it wouldn’t have come to this…!”
Hyperion stopped mid-sentence, startled.
Tears had begun to well up in Laniakea’s wide, round eyes.
“No, I…”
Flustered, Hyperion fumbled for words, not knowing what to say.
Behind him, Gemma and Tamil clicked their tongues with sympathetic expressions.
For some reason… it seemed the path ahead for the imperial couple would be anything but smooth.
