Summary
I became a maid in a horror game.
And, here in this mansion, I was confined together with the male lead, who’s trying to escape. My role here was to guide him around the mansion and to give him penalties once in a while.
I just need to fulfill my NPC duties until the male lead’s playthrough is over.
“Once I get out, I’ll have you locked up the same way.”
This male lead was kicking up quite the racket though.
So I decided to help him escape as soon as possible.
“Let’s eat, Dietrich.”
“That’s a potion. It’ll get you healed up right away.”
“The escape hint is right over there…”
I stuffed him well enough so he had enough energy for the next part of the game.
I gave him a potion to use in case he got hurt.
I also gave him some hints to solve the problem.
Then, we can get out now, right?
However.
“Not sure. I don’t know the answer.”

Yes! I actually wanted mc to stop caring about Dietrich, even if for a little while. It’s much more satisfying to see mc level headed and not unnecessarily entwined with Dietrich for a bit. Especially when Dietrich himself didnt want mc to do so. It would have been so annoying to see mc harming herself, pleading and begging to help Dietrich like some sort of holy mother, while ignoring the hurtful things Dietrich said and did. Even though Dietrich doesn’t know that mc is not at fault, but the constant blaming, mood swings and threats when mc simply wants to help him (for her own sake, but still) is simply exasperating to see.

How will Dietrich interpret Charlotte’s next seemingly arbitrary flight of fancy, or the red-eyed Charlotte’s bout of malicious caprice? How will the transmigrator’s changes to the narrative alter the trajectory of Dietrich’s madness? Where and what is Kyung? Who is the mysterious child? Was it a young and vengeful inner darkness of Dietrich’s? The ghost of an ancestor? The administrator of the second floor? Why is this house so damn haunted? I’m looking forward to finding out!
I’m also heartened that Charlotte is actually testing the limits of the system and accepting penalties every once in a while, instead of always blindly accepting missions after seeing how complying with her assignments is hurting Dietrich.

I figured out who Charlotte is. Skip this comment if you want to be surprised later.
In chapter 32, the little girl’s step brother who destroyed her bear is named Johannes.
In the previous chapter, the artist tells the girl “Master Johannes said so.“
The Johannes in this scenario is the same Johannes who destroyed the little girl’s teddy bear, and it makes sense to conclude that the little girl grew up to be the girl talking to the painter. So I believe this is the mansion the little girl grew up in and we are following her story through each level as she grows up.
I am convinced Charlotte is that girl because the painter recognizes her.
I don’t know yet if MC was Charlotte before and doesn’t remember. Maybe she lived as Charlotte, died, lived as Mc, and now she is Charlotte again but with no memory of it. That, or her soul matched Charlotte’s or something because they led similar lives, as we see in chapter 30 when MC mentioned having a stepmother and step siblings and talked about her dad throwing out her drawings. These situations are exactly the same as Charlotte’s so far.

Honestly, whatever happened to the mansion that turned it into whatever it is now seems to have happened quite a while ago considering the fact that Charlotte was alone in the mansion for a long time. My guess is that S is probably long dead by this point. Perhaps Charlotte is the lady, and whatever she found in those books ended up confining her to the mansion and turning it into a reflection of her memories? If anything, the different bosses and floors seem to be walking us through the stages of the lady's life. The first floor was about her troubled childhood, culminating in something with the bear (it's been so long since I read that part I forgot lol). The second floor was about her teenage years, focusing on her first love, and finally ending with Valek's death. Now, we're seeing the portion of her life related to her being forced into marriage and perhaps descending into madness (that's just my theory due to the goofy stuff with the cave). I wonder what the fourth and fifth floors will be about, perhaps it just continues with her life with the fifth floor finally answering the question of "How did we get here?".

Huh, I didn't expect Johannes to be the lady's lover. Maybe Dietrich was "that guy," but that makes it unclear why Dietrich would've not recognized Charlotte at first then. Perhaps the magic that cursed the mansion that maybe came from the cave mentioned in the earlier diary entry also cursed Dietrich to forget about Charlotte? Also, considering the fact that Emily died, perhaps "S" was also killed after either trying to or maybe succeeding in reporting the truth, which is why this is the end of her diary.
