Confined Together with the Horror Game’s Male Lead - Chapter 194
Chapter 194
Translator: Yonnee
—
The lord ultimately refused to tell Dietrich what had happened to Emily, but uncovering the truth wasn’t difficult for Dietrich.
He gathered reports about Emily from his subordinates.
Her origins were unclear, with no ties to any place. Her only known presence was in Hyden for the past three years.
This only made her more suspicious.
She seemed like someone who had suddenly materialized into existence.
“Regarding Miss Emily—apparently, she brutally killed a maid about two years ago.”
“What?”
Selek and Aubert continued their report.
Emily had killed a maid, and the lord had covered it up.
Dietrich recalled how Emily had suddenly attacked him at the church, attempting to strangle him.
Could this have been one of her episodes of madness?
He remembered the unsettling scene of her butchering the cow.
Behind her sweet facade, there was a dark side.
“Commander, we’ve followed your orders and have tracked the three primary criminals we identified as likely next targets.”
Selek spread out a map on the table, placing pieces to represent each person.
“The black chess pieces are the three criminals, and the white ones are our main suspects. Their movements will now be tracked on this map!”
“We’ve also spread rumors that these criminals are lurking here. The news should provoke a response soon.”
“We’re also keeping close watch on the main suspects.”
Everything was prepared.
The bait was set, and they just needed to catch the target.
Though the full truth behind the crimes was still unclear, capturing the perpetrator could also lead them to Emily.
As night fell, one of the black pieces moved toward the lord’s castle.
Dietrich watched its path closely. The piece was moving toward an old, remote castle on the edge of a deep forest.
Something was happening there.
Dietrich immediately set off to the location marked on the map.
The dark forest echoed with the cries of wild animals as he approached.
Upon arrival, he frowned; although the map detailed the layout, the small building wasn’t shown on it.
‘It’s as if they wanted to keep it hidden…’
He tried the door handle, but it was locked, as expected. Dietrich broke down the door without hesitation.
The inside was empty, filled only with dusty, worn furniture.
But he felt a draft from below, quickly realizing there must be a basement.
Finding the entrance wasn’t difficult.
With practiced ease, he tapped around the floor and soon located the hidden door.
Stealthily, he descended into the dark basement.
As he went deeper, he began hearing strange sounds.
Muttering, as if someone was chanting cryptic phrases.
An odd sense of foreboding made Dietrich grip his sword.
“Now, bring forth the sacrifice! Quickly!”
Sacrifice?
Reaching the bottom of the stairs, he saw a wide passageway. It was a deep underground chamber.
Light was coming from a room at the end of the hall.
“Hurry up!”
“Bring the woman!”
Woman?
Feeling something was terribly wrong, Dietrich quickened his pace.
Entering the dimly lit passageway, he was met with a shocking scene.
At the center of the room lay an altar, with a woman stretched upon it.
Emily.
Standing above her, holding a sword, was the lord himself, surrounded by dozens of people.
“Sir… Sir Dietrich?!”
The lord shouted in surprise upon recognizing him.
Finally, Dietrich began to piece together the situation.
“…So, it was you, Your Lordship, kidnapping criminals and committing these murders?”
“……”
“And now, even Miss Emily…”
This went beyond mere shock; it was infuriating. Rage flooded his mind.
Madness had taken root in the estate.
“D-Don’t come any closer!”
The lord, panicked, shouted as he raised his sword to complete the ritual and strike down Emily.
Dietrich drew his own sword, his face cold.
In one swift motion, the lord was struck down, collapsing in a heap. Dietrich immediately approached the altar to tend to Emily.
“Miss Emily.”
He gently lifted her in his arms.
As he did, she leaned in close, her lips brushing against his ear.
“You still fall into my traps so easily.”
In an instant, Dietrich’s vision wavered.

As Dietrich collapsed, I lowered him onto the altar and picked up an axe.
Clever as he was, he always fell for my traps.
I had endured life in the Hyden estate’s castle for this day alone.
I had spread rumors throughout the estate, waiting for Dietrich to come.
“Thank you for loving me.”
I picked up the axe, which I had carefully set aside.
“Thanks to you, I’ll finally be free.”
Without hesitation, I swung the axe down at the man now under my curse.
A stomach-lurching thud echoed, blood splattering everywhere.
