Chapter 375

Noah, as expected, didn’t respond, nor did he even glance at the man.

Just then, a voice abruptly shouted from behind, breaking the silence.

“You rude fool! Do you know who this is? This is the Prince of this kingdom!”

‘…Prince?’

Why on earth is a prince being captured by such a shabby group of bandits?

Before Maya could even process the question, the prince spoke again.

“Stop causing a scene. Ignorance is no crime.”

“…”

Maya stared at the prince, who was stopping his aide with a cold look.

“Is your ear blocked? Did His Royal Highness not speak?”

“…”

“This fool! Should I punish him before he finally opens his mouth?”

“Aide, enough. Are you the prince?”

“What?”

The officer, who had been yelling at Noah, was now taken aback, bowing so low his head almost touched the ground.

“Of course not! It’s just… he’s been so rude!”

“I’ll be the one to judge.”

“Of, of course.”

The prince, who had looked like he might chop the officer’s head off, immediately changed his expression and smiled warmly.

“So, how about it? I would like to invite you to the palace. Please, don’t refuse. If you don’t want to make me look like a shameless fool who doesn’t know how to appreciate you.”

She was in a hurry to get things done, but this nonsense was delaying everything.

Elaina, who had moved to stand across from the prince, stared him down. She was already thinking to read his thoughts and get rid of him.

But,

‘Perfect timing. We can use him.’

‘He looks perfect on the outside. If we frame him as the hero who saved the princess from the evil lair, it’ll look good.’

‘The hero, after hearing of the princess trapped in the labyrinth, bravely threw himself into danger, but tragically lost his life.’

‘That’s a good story.’

“…!”

The princess in the labyrinth?

The story of the hero Noah’s first adventure was about to begin without anyone even trying.

‘Saving the princess trapped by the evil forces in the labyrinth!’

They hadn’t even thought about going to find the princess yet, but fate had already brought the problem to their doorstep.

Elaina looked over at Ugo.

He nodded slightly in response.

Thanks to the information about the man being a prince, they had more or less grasped the situation.

“By the way, you really don’t talk much.”

The prince smiled kindly, thinking to himself.

‘He’s not mute, is he? That would be troublesome.’

‘Unlike those born with superior blood, commoners are all so unimpressive. Most look like they’ve never eaten a proper meal.’

‘I almost made the bandit leader the hero. His face was so unkempt, I couldn’t figure out where to start fixing it.’

‘But now, here’s this man, looking like a hero out of a painting. Truly, the gods are always on my side.’

‘Now, the people won’t bother me with their complaints about the princess.’

‘Ugh, these pigs. Always so oblivious. Did the princess get into that situation because of me? Is it my fault?’

Elaina had to endure the prince’s incessant rambling thoughts.

‘My ears, my ears are going to rot…’

If commoners are said to be as thin as they are because they haven’t even had enough to eat, it means there are many starving people among the citizens.

How could a prince, who is supposed to lead the nation, feel no sense of responsibility?

Moreover, he wasn’t even worried about the princess. He just came out looking for someone to use and discard, trying to appear noble to the people….

It was beyond pitiful.

‘Is following this prince really the best?’

It seemed like, given the flow of the story, there was no other choice.

While Elaina shuddered, the atmosphere between Noah and the prince had grown so bad it’s getting underground.

“Have I been talking to a wall this whole time?”

“…”

Has his patience finally reached its limit?

With what seemed like the last of his kindness drained, the prince grew frustrated, a vein bulging on his forehead.

“If you can’t speak, at least nod. That’s not too difficult, is it?”

“…”

“Are you trying to test me? You’d better not overstep. I don’t want to treat a benefactor roughly.”

The prince’s tone shifted, with a bit of his true nature beginning to seep through.

As his voice grew lower, almost like a threat, Noah’s gaze briefly flickered towards the prince.

It seemed like he had finally ‘acknowledged’ him.

‘Wow, he’s looking at him like he just found a bug crawling around the house.’

For the first time, Maya read Noah’s gaze.

It was that obvious.

Does a person need a reason to kill a bug? No.

Would they feel guilty? Probably not.

Similarly, Maya quickly stepped in before this inadequate prince became the target of God’s retribution.

“Your Highness, I’m deeply grateful for your kindness, but these children’s loved ones are in danger, and this is an urgent matter. Please allow us to take our leave.”

The prince was the heir to a kingdom.

Maya used every polite expression she could muster within her limits.

But the response she received was cold.

“What is this, a woman?”

Had he not noticed because she was wearing a black hood?

The prince raised his voice in anger as soon as he heard Maya’s words.

“Who do you think you are, interrupting me!”

The bug is buzzing irritably. Noah nonchalantly flicked his finger, as if painting a picture in the air.

At that, a bright white flash shot across the sky, tracing the constellation of his fingertip, and it streaked rapidly through the clouds.

Kwah!

A thunderstrike in a clear sky.

Having done her best to stop this situation, Maya gave a hollow laugh with cloudy eyes.

At this point, she no longer knew what was going on.

“A, a lightning strike out of nowhere!”

“A monster, a monster!”

“A witch! An evil witch!”

“Damn it, run!”

The prince’s attendants immediately abandoned him and fled.
