Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 300
Chapter 300
“I sent you on vacation only to have you return so soon?”
Vincent approached, baffled, as the carriage made its way back.
“Seems like you just took the carriage back and forth. Is that your idea of a vacation? Fun?”
Vincent, who had been looking forward to playing with his niece, voiced his disappointment in a mocking tone. He had plans to monopolize Elaina for the next ten days, and here they are, already back.
“Ella doesn’t care for her Uncle when her parents are around.”
With Vincent’s complaint, Aria couldn’t help but ask.
“Did you paint your face with pictures?”
When he ran out, Vincent had forgotten to wipe off the colorful paint Elaina had put on his face during their playtime.
“Of course not! Ella wanted to add flowers to my already flowery face, so I simply gave my face…”
Vincent was shocked before he finished. His gaze met the Grand Duke’s, who had the look of a madman without a tomorrow.
Like a hiker had stumbled upon a wild beast, Vincent slowly began to retreat.
He snuggled up next to Aria and whispered.
“Brother’s eyes are turned over.”
Vincent knew that look all too well. Such madness was reserved for those about to be killed. It wasn’t just some deadly sin.
Perhaps someone who had gravely wronged Aria.
“Did something in Garcia trigger this? Perhaps encountering that muscle gorilla named after an angel…”
Vincent was piecing together a theory.
“But he wouldn’t show that look in front of Sister-in-law, right?”
“…..”
“Who is this man?”
Vincent’s suspicion grew, wondering if the person before them was actually Lloyd or some imposter.
“Since when does Lloyd look like that?”
“Based on my analysis, Brother’s madness can be categorized into five stages.”
Vincent began to explain.
For Aria, this was new information.
“Very light madness, slight madness, moderate madness, extreme madness, and then ultimate madness.”
“…..”
“And currently, we’re witnessing a level beyond ultimate madness, which I’d call celestial madness.”
“Five stages?”
Why was there an additional one now?
“It’s so rare to see him in this state, indicating his madness has reached the skies. It seems like the world is about to end.”
Vincent said with utmost seriousness.
Caught off guard by his statement, Aria quickly dragged him out from behind her.
“Kyak!”
Vincent shrieked in a faint scream and trembled visibly. It seemed the talk of celestial madness had genuinely frightened him.
“This is not Lloyd. It’s Grand Duke Valentine.”
“What? Right. Sister-in-law is not Aria but Grand Duchess Valentine.”
That’s not what she meant.
Aria lowered her voice further, whispering as if sharing a secret.
“This is Lloyd from another dimension. Precisely, a soul from a destroyed world has possessed Lloyd’s body.”
“…..”
Hearing the mention of ‘another dimension’ and ‘possession’, Vincent looked as though he had much to say as a scholar. But considering the circumstances, he seemed to let it slide for now.
The important thing was Lloyd’s condition was worse than usual.
And oddly enough.
‘Why is he so calm even though we just spoke about his madness right in front of him?’
Although Aria was whispering, Lloyd, known for his sharp hearing, would have caught their entire conversation.
Yet, he merely stared blankly from afar, even with Vincent clinging to Aria’s side. It should have been time for some veiled threats…
‘Could it be true?’
Vincent was skeptical but decided to go along with Aria’s seemingly absurd claim for now.
“So, Brother? Have you finally destroyed the world?”
“…..”
The Grand Duke responded with silence.
“It’s not an accusation. I saw it coming. To be honest, we’ve been on edge in this world too, feeling like it was just a matter of time”
“…..”
Aria couldn’t tell if Vincent was scared or mocking with his acting.
“Are you provoking him on purpose?”
“No, I’m just speaking the truth.”
Vincent responded with a puzzled expression. He was seemingly unaware of what the issue was with stating facts as they were.
“It might be best for our Vincent to keep quiet.”
Just try to open your mouth. Aria suggested with a gentle smile, patting his shoulder.
At that moment, Grand Duke Valentine, who had been quietly listening to their conversation, finally reacted. He crossed his arms and tilting his head slightly, he pointed his finger at Vincent.
Even without speaking a word, the pressure he emitted was incomparable to any other.
“Me, me? You’re asking me to come over?”
Vincent trembled as if he’d been summoned by a reaper itself. Despite his madness, Lloyd was still Lloyd.
Knowing the Grand Duke wouldn’t harm his family, Aria nudged Vincent towards him.
“Why are you doing thi… oohh.”
Vincent made an odd noise. The Grand Duke had grabbed his chin firmly and examined his face closely by turning it side to side without hesitation.
He spoke with a frown.
“Brother, my jaw feels like it’s about to break.”
“Was the eye level always this low?”
“Are you dissatisfied with my height?”
Vincent suddenly snapped back, perhaps sensitive about his height. Considering he was not short by average standards but felt small among the Valentines, it seemed to be a bit of a complex for him.
Moreover, it seemed more shocking coming from the significantly larger Lloyd.
“It’s the same.”
“My height?”
Vincent narrowed his eyes, pressing for an answer persistently.
