Becoming the Villain’s Family - Chapter 260
Chapter 260
While Vincent approached, shaking droplets of water from his head.
“I’ll sell this dragon as meat today and be done with it…”
Suddenly, he had a shocked face, staring intently behind Aria.
“Ah?”
Adjusting his glasses as if not believing what he saw, he soon turned pale.
“No, you, you said he wasn’t here.”
Aria turned around to see Lloyd standing within arm’s reach.
It made her pause momentarily.
Suppressing a gasp, she bit her lip hard.
‘I definitely didn’t sense anything.’
Even if he had moved stealthily, there should have been at least the sound of his clothes brushing. However, Aria heard nothing.
“You said you’d better be hit?”
Lloyd muttered under his breath.
“You should have said earlier. If that’s what you wished for, I wouldn’t have denied you.”
“What? What did I just say?”
Vincent quickly stepped back, claiming short-term memory loss and creating distance between them.
“Why… are you here?”
Before she could gather her thoughts, the words that pushed him away went out first.
Lloyd reached out toward Aria. Without realizing it, she took a step back, much like Vincent had done.
It wasn’t intentional.
Lloyd froze for a moment. Then stepped closer as if nothing had happened. His helpless, shaking gaze momentarily hidden behind his fluttering eyelids.
His black pupils reappeared, burning even more intensely as he stared at her relentlessly.
“You’re hurt.”
Lloyd gently brushed her lips that had been bitten tightly together.
Each time Lloyd’s rough fingertips grazed her tender lips, Aria couldn’t help but shudder.
‘Perhaps I know what Vincent meant by that gaze.’
Of course, it wasn’t the kind of gaze that would tear her apart.
However, unlike his expressionless face, the gaze directed at Aria was seething with a strong heat. Making it difficult to stand still.
‘What’s with the timing…’
Is he some kind of ghost?
At that moment, Aria suddenly recalled that she had the same thought not long ago.
There had been an incident where the knight who had spoken to her disappeared in an instant in the middle of their conversation.
‘Come to think of it, since Lloyd accepted both God’s goodwill and malice, he has been using his abilities at an omnipotent level…’
She had forgotten that Lloyd hadn’t used his powers in front of her since the incident with the Emperor’s murder.
Could it be that Tristan had said something strange earlier because he knew Lloyd was nearby?
“Did you follow me?”
“Not exactly follow…”
“Is Lloyd the one who beat up the knight?”
“Just for some training…”
“I heard you were beating them for no reason.”
Aria glanced back briefly.
Vincent and Luca were nowhere to be seen, as if they had hurriedly left.
“Like the time the knight suddenly vanished, did Lloyd do something?”
He didn’t answer.
He just stared at her with eyes that were either blindly devoted or relentlessly intense, as if he wanted to burn her.
“Then are you going to scold me?”
It seemed like he had heard her.
Aria had a sheepish look when she thought of what she had said to the dragon.
“Now, do you feel like swearing, cursing, and hating?”
“Huh? No, why would I go that far…”
“I wish you had.”
“…..”
“As I said last time.”
Lloyd murmured weakly.
Then, he took Aria’s hand and placed it on his cheek, looking down at her.
The intense black gaze that had been enveloping her had disappeared in an instant.
He stared at her with his eyes framed by his long-lashes.
“I have something to show you.”
It was an inexplicable moment where his figure looked pitiful and delicate.
“….Alright.”
Aria brushed off her worries about how to deal with him and simply followed Lloyd.
Wherever he leads.
And finally, they arrived at a place with a white door adorned with a golden frame.
“Where is this place?”
She knew every room in the palace, but this was a door she had never seen before.
“Is it newly built?”
Instead of answering, Lloyd opened the door.
The first thing that caught her eye was a lovely cradle adorned with white cloth and delicate lace.
So, this was… a room for the baby.
He had prepared it so meticulously during the room’s redecoration that she couldn’t help but wonder why she hadn’t noticed before.
‘So, the reason the servants avoided me wasn’t just because of what Vincent said.’
Perhaps they were secretly helping Lloyd decorate this room behind Aria’s back.
She looked around the room with a dazed expression.
It was just the right feeling for a baby’s room, not excessive or lacking. She could feel how much effort he had put into it.
Aria silently touched the cloud and rainbow-shaped mobile with her finger.
Then the mobile started spinning around, accompanied by a gentle melody.
“This song…”
The song of healing.
It was the first song Aria sang to Lloyd.
The familiar melody triggered memories of the wedding night.
Aria saw him momentarily overwhelmed by his wounds, and her mind went blank. Then she sang the song of healing. She doesn’t even remember to hide her voice.
She saved him and was saved by him.
‘A memory I’ll never forget even if I die.’
She looked up at Lloyd.
“It seems like Mother used to tell you old stories.”
He took Aria’s hand and seated her on the sofa.
“Things that are long gone don’t really matter. I don’t want to make excuses like there were unavoidable circumstances.”
Lloyd knew everything.
Why Aria was digging up Valentine’s past.
What she wanted to gain from it.
