Early in the morning,

After all the preparations were ready, it was time for Dwayne to start the day’s routine. Then, he overheard this conversation.

“The Grand Prince was smiling.”

“Drunk?”

“No, sober.”

“Then, maybe, he killed people?”

“No, he didn’t kill anyone.”

“Did he throw them as food for the wolves?”

“Surprisingly, no.”

It was hard to believe. He stopped and listened to the maids’ conversation.

“He was just smiling.”

The Grand Prince had a faint smile on his lips the whole time. Smiling while staying still like an airhead.

In other words, that Grand Prince Valentine had a continuous smile.

“Looks like something good happened.”

It was a rare occurrence.

Even when Tristan smiled, he usually gave a crooked sneer. And most of the situations in which he would smile at his opponent were a few.

To mention: when he directly kills a spy, when he threatens people’s lifelines, when he pours alcohol into his mouth and talks a mess of nonsense in his head…….

Dwayne realized he had been looking at his master like he was a madman. He quickly lowered his head in surprise.

He was genuinely concerned. He was afraid that if Tristan would go crazy like this, Valentine’s generation would be cut off.

He was concerned that the world would end like that.

“You’re speaking a lot.”

“No, there is no subordinate who cares about the Grand Prince as deeply as I do.”

Tristan stared at Dwayne who kept spouting flattery .

“Then prove it.”

“Yes?”

“Find out all the personal details of the knights who served the Valois family, from 18 years ago until now.”

18 years. What an unnecessarily specific number. The number made him feel slightly uncomfortable.

But soon, Dwayne felt a sense of deja vu and rolled his eyes as he realized something.

‘Come to think of it, the Grand Princess turns 18 this year.’

Dwayne quickly realized why Tristan had given such an order and asked,

“Should I focus on the knights that had contact with the Grand Princess?”

“No, there won’t be any visible contact.”

“How can you be sure?”

“Because the knight who swore allegiance to the lady who was persecuted by her family wouldn’t reveal their relationship in front of others.”

“……what?”

Won’t reveal their relationship in front of others?

Was Tristan asking Dwayne to investigate the background of the former lover of the person who will be the Grand Princess?

Dwayne finally noticed. Why Tristan’s mood had been fluctuating like crazy.

“……It has been probably two or three years. A person named Garnet, who lives in Naphtha, seems to know the whereabouts, so look for him too.”

Dwayne must do whatever was asked without a question. He bowed his head at Tristan’s orders, then raised his head at the foreboding feeling that was creeping in.

“After you find him what… are you going to do?”

Tristan certainly wasn’t looking for the knight just to find out where he was.

Obviously, he was going to secretly find and kill that knight!
