Perhaps because she had been thinking too deeply about Edgar’s imprint, he appeared in her dreams.

To be precise, it was a very unrealistic and strange dream, in which Edgar Richard had imprinted on her. While they were having s*x in her dream, he bit hard on her neck and shoulder. It was as if an animal had bitten her, and the sharp pain was vivid.

‘I must have been exhausted.’

Christine shook her head and got up, making the bed. It seemed as though the strange dream had been caused by her having fallen asleep while fantasizing about Richard’s imprints that happened during s*x.

However, the dream gave her a useless trail of imagination.

‘If Edgar Richard says that he loves me sincerely and imprints on me… it may be strange, but I don’t think I would hate it.’

It wasn’t that she thought like this because she was interested in him. Objectively, he was the most wonderful person of all the people she had ever seen, and it was clear that his abilities would never fall short.

It might be quite satisfying to have such a man use a power that could only be used once in a lifetime just for her.

But Christine knew the reality. Her delusion was a situation that only Christine Baines and Edgar Richard could consider.

In reality, she was busy working as a member of the Golden Horseshoe Guild without a moment to catch her breath. She had to pay for her mother’s nursing and to use the hideout, so there was no way she would have time for something like dating.

She had a lot of other things to worry about besides being someone’s woman.

‘There’s a reason why I didn’t get into a relationship with a man in my past life.’

She smiled bitterly and combed her hair. To prevent this life from going in the same direction, each action she took was important.

Christine left her residence with a bright smile on her face. If she snooped around the training hall again using cleaning as an excuse, she might be suspected of being a strange person who was obsessed with tidying up.

So she casually took a look around as she pretended to be taking a walk. She was searching for a place where there would be many chimera’s tears, a place where others would not be puzzled even if she was snooping around, when someone called her.

“Excuse me, Miss Christine.”

Christine remembered the girl who called her.

“Oh my, it’s Sonia. Hi.”

It was the child who had cried because of Ein. She felt bad seeing her recall bad memories when she looked at that man, but fortunately, she seemed to be feeling better now.

“Is something the matter?”

Christine knew how to get a child to like her. As she leaned down deeply and made eye contact, she felt Sonia relax a little.

The child, who moved her eyes around hesitantly, soon opened her mouth.

“I just wanted to say thank you. For helping me.”

“No, I didn’t do anything.”

“Toma said that. He said that Miss Christine is actually a very scary person and that you’ll scold that executive.”

She wondered if she had struck the chicken Toma had thrown at her to provoke her way too quickly.

As Christine was speechless, Sonia added, “That executive got dismissed.”

“Oh, is that so? Then he won’t be seen anymore in the Black Fang Guild?”

“I suppose so. His neck was cut off.”

Christine couldn’t believe her ears. The story of Ein’s throat being cut was sudden, and this cute girl had told her about his death in such a calm manner.

‘What the hell is the Black Fang Guild teaching kids? Or did they do awful things before being rescued and brought here?’

She was just blinking because it didn’t seem like something she should dig into, but Sonia explained it further.

“Mr. Decius told me. That man secretly stole a chimera’s tear.”

“…”

“He said that while searching through his room to see if there were any more hidden chimera’s tears, they found a journal he had written while secretly observing the chimeras working in the guild’s main building. For some reason, he chose only to observe female chimeras. Ein was secretly sending the information to the Blue Hammer Guild.”

“Oh my. So he was punished for stealing information from within the guild. Stealing information deserves a heavy punishment.”
