After I Died, He Died After Me Too - Chapter 34
Chapter 17.2

Dexter’s mood soured as he processed the situation unfolding without his input. It was clear that his mother had orchestrated this. A meeting disguised as a coincidence, leaving him no way to object. Bianca wasn’t supposed to be here, but perhaps it would have been better if she hadn’t come at all.
‘D*mn it.’
To think he had fallen for his mother’s schemes yet again.
He shot a fierce glare at the Guide, his expression twisting sharply. The Guide quickly lowered his eyes, his body trembling nervously.
“Dexter, why are you tormenting the Guide? He’s done nothing wrong. He’s only here because I asked him to be.”
“I’m the one who should be asking you, Mother. I don’t understand why you’re tormenting me.”
“It’s strange to hear you say that a mother would torment her son. All mothers share the same heart, I believe. They simply wish for their sons to have better, happier lives. And wouldn’t it be even better if there was someone by his side to help him?”
“Mother.”
Dexter felt a tightness in his chest.
The Empress already knew Bianca would be his personal Guide. Yet, there had to be another reason for her insistence on forcing Eliaden on him.
“There’s no need to worry. Having a personal Guide doesn’t mean she’ll become your wife, does it? I’m merely looking for a woman suitable to become your wife.”
“And what woman would want to marry a man who bites and sucks other women? Unless, of course, Lady Eliaden enjoys sharing what’s hers? I didn’t realize she had such tastes.”
“Dexter, watch your words.”
The Empress furrowed her brow, clearly displeased.
As the mood grew tense, Bianca, who had been sitting quietly, now showed a flicker of unease in her eyes. She might be cursing him in her mind, or perhaps even d*mning him outright.
‘I shouldn’t have involved her. I didn’t expect things to turn out like this.’
She was being forced to hear things she didn’t need to, enduring humiliation because of him. Every time he looked at her, his anger flared but softened just as quickly.
He had only wanted her to stay by his side, but was even that asking for too much?
That was far too harsh for him to bear. After all, they had only just crossed paths again. He couldn’t let others interfere and ruin it.
As the Guide stood there, fidgeting nervously, the Empress motioned with her hand again.
“Come here and do as I’ve asked.”
“But we need the Crown Prince’s permission…”
It was impossible to forcefully check the compatibility rate. Dexter furrowed his brows under his mother’s intense stare.
The only one who seemed thrilled about the situation was Eliaden, her eyes alight with enthusiasm. Did she have no pride, or did she simply think it didn’t matter? Despite looking like she might cry just moments ago, her expression now brimmed with anticipation.
“Your Highness, I’ve never guided anyone else through physical contact. You don’t need to worry.”
She wasn’t ignorant of why he was rejecting her, but it didn’t seem like she would give up so easily. Eliaden wore an innocent expression, but her true intentions were far from it.
Her scent was so overpowering it felt like a vibration, strong enough to cause a headache, and it revealed everything. Any other Esper would’ve been unable to resist and would have pulled her into their arms. That’s how potent her pheromones were.
But Dexter was different. The only person who could move him was Bianca.
“Mother, even when choosing a dedicated Guide, I want someone who hasn’t been touched by anyone else. So why would it be any different for the person who stays by my side? Becoming my personal Guide is essentially the same as becoming my fiancée.”
Knowing full well who would be most shaken by his words, he dropped the bombshell with his statement.
“That’s a decision for His Majesty the Emperor, not something based on your opinion. Does Lady Bianca agree with the Crown Prince’s view as well?”
The focus shifted back to her. Dexter’s heart pounded in his chest. He couldn’t predict what words might spill from her beautiful lips. One thing was certain: whatever she said wouldn’t align with his own thoughts.
Finally, Bianca, who had been sitting silently, set down her teacup and spoke.
“Your Majesty, I understand your concerns, but I’m fully aware of my place. I have no intention of becoming the Crown Prince’s fiancée, so there’s no need for you to worry.”
As soon as he caught sight of her unwavering blue eyes, his already foul mood twisted even further.
