After I Died, He Died After Me Too - Chapter 19
Chapter 10.1
Bianca stood in front of the room she had been guided to. It looked to be about the size of at least two rooms combined.
“Thank you for showing me the way.”
“You’ll have maids to attend to you tomorrow, Lady Bianca.”
“…I understand.”
Although it would’ve been possible to bring a maid from the Count’s residence, it didn’t seem like they would offer such convenience. From the beginning, they wouldn’t have given her the choice to choose a maid.
‘There probably isn’t anyone who would want to attend to me.’
If she weren’t royalty and were in such an ambiguous position as she was now, everyone would likely avoid her. They might even try to avoid getting caught up in any potential scandal. It would be fortunate if it were someone from a lower noble family, though given the connection to the Crown Prince now, it was possible that a higher-ranking noblewoman or young lady than her might come instead.
“Then, please call me if you need anything.”
Erlan bowed his head in greeting and closed the door.
Bianca stood there, staring blankly at the room that was too large for one person to occupy, rooted to the spot. Once she collected herself, she leaned against the closed door and exhaled.
It didn’t feel real, but the moments she had spent with him were strangely vivid.
“Uhg.”
At that moment, a sharp pain pierced through her entire body, and she quickly curled up. The pain made it difficult for her to even breathe.
“Huuk, hak.”
Bianca patted her chest with her hands to steady her breathing. It seemed the effect of the drug suppressing the awakening fever had worn off. It was supposed to be five minutes, but it had lasted longer than expected. Maybe it was because she was relaxed, but the pain was coming back.
‘Was it this painful even before I took the medicine? How long is this going to last?’
Bianca lay face down on the floor, breathing heavily. Her breathing became rapid, and the pain was worse than before she took the medicine, making her vision spin.
“Uhuuhk.”
‘How long, how much longer…’
She recalled the words the Crown Prince had said to her.
“That would be difficult on your end.”
Having momentarily forgotten the pain, it became hard to endure. If the duration were this short, it would only become more troublesome in the future. If she had waited even a little longer, she would have collapsed in the hallway.
Bianca clenched her fists and bit her lips to endure the pain.
No matter what she did, the intense heat didn’t go away easily. It seemed to say that there was only one way for her.
“No.”
She knew. If she called someone because she couldn’t endure the pain, an unwanted situation might arise. It would be good news for the Crown Prince, who was watching how long she could hold out. If such situations continued, it would be advantageous for both of them to imprint.
With her unstable power, she couldn’t guide him effectively, so it would be as if she were receiving help instead.
‘I have to endure.’
She had to hold on alone, no matter what.
But despite her resolve, she writhed in pain as if her whole body were burning. The heat made her extremely thirsty. Her mouth was parched, and her lips were cracked. Everywhere she touched felt like it was searing with heat, making it impossible to even touch anything. It felt as if her entire body was submerged in boiling lava.
Bianca staggered, using the floor to help her stand up.
She began to shiver with chills. As she staggered toward the bed and collapsed onto it, she barely managed to pull up the blanket, trying to calm her shaking body.
‘They said if it gets worse, I might die.’
It might be better that way. As she thought so, tears welled up in her eyes. The pain was so intense that tears came out on their own.
‘If only I were unconscious… It would be better if I could at least fall asleep.’
“Hhuuhk.”
Even while groaning in pain, Bianca tried to endure alone. In fact, she wanted to call someone immediately. In her mind, the words ‘There’s only one way you can end this pain’ seemed to keep echoing in her mind. Bianca knew that was the quickest way, though she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
Through her blurred vision, she saw a bell on the table. If she just shook it, anyone would come here.
“…No, I can’t.”
Didn’t she say it didn’t matter if she wouldn’t be imprinted by the Crown Prince? If she couldn’t uphold her words even for a single day, whatever she said in the future would lack credibility.
Bianca gritted her teeth and endured. She had to hold on, even if it meant dying.
“Huuhk, hnh.”
Her whole body twisted. As the rising heat spread throughout her body, the familiar sensation wrapped around her body, and the surge of fear overwhelmed her. She felt a tingling between her legs and rubbed her body against the blanket. In her dazed state, Bianca acted on instinct, not knowing even what she was doing.
