The Emperor had set a deadline until his twenty-fifth birthday, and that was why he planned such a ridiculous scheme. Unable to let go of his regret, he sent out invitations to every house in the Asteria Empire, thinking it was his last chance.
And in the end, that reckless action ended up playing right into his hands.

Bianca’s body felt feverish, and her mind was foggy.
She had met the Crown Prince and asked for his help. And then… how did she get home? Was this even her home? Her thoughts were in disarray as frustration built and her body refused to move as she wished. She had no idea that awakening as a Guide was like this.
‘I’m sure something happened…’
It was difficult for her to regain her consciousness. Her condition had slightly improved since earlier, but she felt heavy and uncomfortable, as though she had caught a severe cold.

Bianca tried to force herself to open her eyes but soon gave up and fell asleep.

Countess Astri, who saw him return from the banquet hall, urgently called out his name.
“Mother.”

Countess Astri’s complexion paled as she looked at her son’s stern face.
“It seems the imperial family found out and summoned Father.”

The Countess’s legs trembled at the sudden turn of events. Finding it difficult to stand, she eventually sat down with support on a chair.
“It seems His Highness the Crown Prince is showing interest in Bianca. Perhaps he’s summoning Father to discuss matters related to her.”
Countess Astri felt as though her heart might cease beating altogether.
“Oh, please. Why would His Highness the Crown Prince suddenly take an interest in Bianca? The imperial family doesn’t even pay attention to low-ranking Guides.”

“Are you saying Bianca might be a Guide of a higher rank than we thought?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
Asilian’s words nearly caused the Countess to faint. She collapsed onto the sofa, placing her hand on her forehead.

“Perhaps His Highness the Crown Prince sensed something. Mother, you need to be strong. Things are going to change now. Many at the banquet noticed Bianca’s change.”
Countess Astri’s eyes widened. Asilian nodded slowly in the face of her disbelief.
“There’s going to be a big change in the Astri family. Maybe something that’s going to cause a stir to the whole capital.”
It was the first time the Crown Prince had shown interest in someone, and that alone made it clear that Bianca was a special presence.
“…I think I know where the missing Bianca is.”
‘I hope she’s holding on well without any problems.’
The Countess placed her hands on her heart and closed her eyes as if praying. Somehow, she had a feeling Bianca was in the imperial palace.

The next day, Bianca still couldn’t wake up. She had never imagined that awakening as a Guide would be this grueling.
She barely had enough strength left to quench her burning throat. Her consciousness came and went, but she managed to hold on somehow. Yet, the heat raging through her entire body and the unfamiliar sensations refused to subside.
‘It’s too hard… it hurts…’
Bianca twisted and writhed in pain, not knowing when it would ease. Her family seemed to come in occasionally to care for her, but she didn’t seem to be improving.
“It seems to be lasting a long time. At this rate, it’s going to be dangerous.”
…Who was it?
It was a voice she hadn’t heard before. The low, resonant sound made her head ached.
She struggled to open her eyes, breathing heavily. Her heavy eyelids wouldn’t budge despite several attempts, and she eventually gave up.
“Still, we should ask the doctor.”
She spoke up again, this time with more force.
‘Who are you?’
Even though she wanted to plead for the pain to stop, her voice wouldn’t come out, and only moans of pain escaped from her lips.
“Things could go wrong if it continues like this.”
Conversations continued around her. Bianca, unable to open her eyes properly, strained to listen to their discussion.
“…Okay. If that’s the only way, then so be it.”
She tried to stay awake to listen to the conversation, but within minutes, she lost consciousness.
