Usually, there is a new chapter every 3 days, sometimes it will take 4 days, and rarely every 5th or 6th day. There are instances when the next free chapter is unlocked on the site by they forgot to upload it on NU.

People are sometimes hard to read. Now, because of this chapter, I’m getting suspicious with Paul’s feelings and actions. I know that platonic and familial love exist. I also don’t want to be hit by “why can’t they just be friends?” or “you can be friends without having feelings for them” question and statement. The possibility of Paul liking her may not be entirely impossible. The same with Ethan. I think Reina definitely had results with her seduction. I just wonder what made Ethan very mad on that day that made him grit his teeth. It seems that he may have heard something unfavorable.

If I understood this correctly and Lehman’s dad is the vice-minister of education… that means the promotion he’s trying to get is to replace Reina’s dad, right? We learned in the lunch episode, Reina’s dad actually works his butt off.
This really isn’t a black and white issue. The mandatory public service for all members of the 9 households and the minister positions being exclusive to them isn’t supposed to be a perk; it’s supposed to force them to contribute and not do exactly the behavior we know Reina would love to do if she could (sit back, eat, and play for life while living off of passive income).
That’s why Reina half-jokes it’s slavery. To Lehman, it’s undeserved privilege, even though it’s a system made to ensure descendants of these honored families don’t just get free lunch.
Glass ceilings aren’t nice for anyone to run into, but really, why does Lehman want to ensure he can become a minister? We saw when Reina was talking about revolutionizing the currency and banking system, the other members of the 9 were all excited to listen (except Douglas who was probably the only one who couldn’t follow it).
Lehman didn’t care. He couldn’t set aside his feelings and pettiness to dream with them. He wants attention. He wants glory. He wants acknowledgement. The position he’s gunning for isn’t supposed to be one to fulfill any of those things. It’s supposed to be at the forefront of keeping things running and bettering the country. That just doesn’t seem like where Lehman’s heart is.

I honestly can’t tell what Paul thinks of Reina. He obviously cares about her. He will help if he sees her genuinely struggling and he keeps trying to provide opportunities for her. We see that he can be an intimidating leader in his own right, but to her he’s just a goofy friend.
That apple routine in the beginning was killing me by the way! Made me think of a friend pretending to be the Wicked Queen from snow white at your door. I think that’s it; Paul genuinely does stuff that I’d see friends do. He jokes around like crazy, he argues and can be irritating but he also tries to help in his own way. I’m not even sure Reina is attracted to him because he’s been so thoroughly friend zoned. I agree with others though, if Paul isn’t the ML (and the cover would imply he’s not), I hope he’s never an option. Just a friend all the way through.

I think there’s a loophole in the men of this BL novel. Ethan, Paul, and Elijah were not mentioned to be part of Lehman’s own harem so I think it’s plausible that they can be/are straight. I’ve read of TikTok, YouTube, Novel Updates, and Bato comment sections about “if the female lead is in a boys’ love world, then it’s expected to be BxG lol.” In one of the spoilers I read in the forum thread of NU,after the prom incident happened, while Reina was recovering, the frequent visitors where Ethan, Elijah, and Paul. Letis, Luke, and Fran were the occasional visitors. . It made me realize something because the latter three men were part of Lehman’s lovers. It might mean that they might be not into Reina than we initially expected. So, I think it makes sense or justified why the former three men are not gay in this timeline/life. Jeremy and Lehman really are infatuated with each other. I don’t know about that Douglas guy though. I know you guys don’t mind but I still want to share.
P.S. The Korean novel is completed and up to 87 chapters. The spoilers in this comment were from around chapter 60s something. Since, Belle Reservoir split the original chapters into half parts, I think we are either near the climax or far from it.

This is just a guess. As heavily mentioned before, her past life is poor, so maybe she can feel a lil of preasure lehman gone through. She didnt deny any of his wrongdoings, but maybe because the punishment is a bit too harsh that she felt guilty. If this true, then i can relate to her honestly. The feeling when, you know they deserve to be punished, but when the subject is “yourself”, you kinda being put in a burdened position. I like how reina character is reasonable yet sympathetic.

The punishment is light. The nine houses could have easily killed him and his family. The rumors and harassment were beyond petty bullying. He actively attacked one of the nine houses’ reputation. And although his situation is unfair due to the system in place, he wasn’t achieving anything by the behavior he was displaying to change the system. He sullied all and any chances for himself by doing this. He has enough knowledge, and supposedly the beauty to match to get himself the power he wanted, and maybe even change the system if he had had the social brains to do it. He gained favor with most of the houses and had supporters stupid, and obsessed enough to go with his antics. He COULD have changed the system if he had played in a smart way instead of being petty for not having the luck that Reina has. I can’t feel any sympathy or empathy for him, as he CHOSE to go with this plan. He knew what he was doing, and thus he must pay the consequences for those actions. Besides, we KNOW he wouldn’t try to change the system if HE was a part of the nine houses by birth. It’s pettiness lightly, and jealousy if we are honest. He only cares because his daddy dear and himself couldn’t get the civil post he wants, not because he believes the system is truly unfair.

I think OG comment was making a point that with this story, you get an idea of how nobles are perceived in the empire. Lehman himself was a noble, however with this story, the perspective of commoners towards nobles is also explained. If the baron had been a real noble, the chief would have been penalised regardless of whether or not her actions were in self defence. Both Lehman and the Chief wouldn’t have been given a chance in this hierarchical society. Granted Lehman is a shitty person, but every human should have the right to defend themselves in court. Lehman was thankfully in the wrong this time, but if Reina was truly an awful person and tried to frame him, he’d stand no chance with this form of justice. Reina also acknowledges that and her guilt stems from this.

Time and time again we see MC’s that come from poor backgrounds/went through poverty and once they reincarnate/transmigrate/get reborn into the highest level of the hierarchy they don’t do anything to change the status quo. At the very least they provide some relief to the lower classes, but such actions don’t have a great impact in the long run.
This is the case with
Reina. She knows how unjust the system can be and how it can deprive you of everything, she even complains about it. Yet, once she’s on the top she doesn’t bother to make a significant difference. Can’t say I blame her, though, but the cognitive dissonance was going to happen at some point. If anything, I have to thank Lehman for making her realize that she’s being maybe too complacent with her life.

The mommy mentioned that reina became friends with Paul after the younger sister died and in the previous chapters, when reina was crying and clinging to Paul at the academy, it was said “she cried like a little sister” or something between those lines.
