When the Villainess Died, the Male Lead Went Crazy - Chapter 139.1
After spending their first night together, Kylian no longer hid his feelings for Anais. Though Anais was embarrassed by how persistent Kylian was, to the point where she was almost afraid to go to the bedroom, she didn’t avoid him.
She found it both surprising that Kylian, someone so capable, could be this devoted to her. She also couldn’t help but feel the pure affection he showed.
“You’re still awake.”
“Well, I think I’ll stop for tonight.”
Anais said this, feeling exhausted. Though she was trained as a warrior, the energy spent at night was different from that required during training. Perhaps because of this, she tired quickly and would eventually fall asleep.
Anais couldn’t help but feel a bit resentful toward Kylian for pushing her to her limits until she couldn’t do anything but cling to him. But when he looked at her with such warm eyes, she couldn’t bring herself to hate him, and over time, she started to accept Kylian’s behavior.
“Has it really gotten this late?”
Anais sighed and looked outside. It is deep dark outside.
Since they had made love for the first time, Kylian had adjusted their schedules to force them both to extend their sleep hours, thinking that it would prevent them from getting too exhausted. She hadn’t expected her energy to run out so quickly.
“Still, I want to be with you, Wife.”
“I’m just really tired tonight. Would it be alright if we just sleep like this, holding each other?”
“I understand.”
When Anais said this, sounding truly worn out, Kylian looked into her eyes to make sure she was sincere. Seeing the earnestness in her gaze, he smiled, deciding not to push her any further.
“Your eyes are truly beautiful. Every time I look at them, I feel like I’m alive.”
“Kylian, your eyes are beautiful too. They look like melted gold.”
As Anais said this, she suddenly blushed, remembering how Kylian always made her stare at him intently whenever they were together.
“You should look into my eyes, Wife.”
Kylian loved making eye contact. He loved nothing more than holding their bodies together and gazing into each other’s eyes. That was how he always ended their intimate moments.
“Your eyes are as beautiful as the cross-section of a glacier.”
“It’s just sky blue.”
“Since your eyes are sky blue, I prefer the daytime. When the sky is blue, I think of you.”
“Kylian is good at saying things like that. I’m too shy for that.”
She was a little embarrassed at first by his affectionate expressions, but as they continued every day, she found herself getting used to it.
From Kylian’s perspective, it made sense. He was simply saying the things he had long wanted to tell Anais.
“I don’t just like your eyes, Wife. I like your lips too.”
“After they get swollen, what’s there to like?”
“It’s better because it got swollen because of me.”
Anais had noticed that her lips were swollen because he kept kissing it. It had become a regular occurrence recently, and her lips were always tender, swollen, without needing any makeup.
“It makes me so happy when you call my name with these beautiful lips.”
He gently pressed his hand against her swollen lips.
“I didn’t know you’d be this open, Kylian.”
“Even if you’ve realized that now, the marriage can’t be annulled.”
“I know. I don’t intend to annul it.”
Anais, sensing his subtle tremor, hugged him closer.
“Wife.”
“Yes?”
“I’m truly happy when I smell my scent on you. When I smell it on your neck, your chest, that’s when I feel the most content.”
“Only there you can smell Kylian? It’s because you’re so persistent.”
Anais smiled and looked at Kylian. He appreciated her comforting him, as she seemed to understand his unspoken feelings and embraced him for it.
The night deepened for them.
* * *
Anais was dreaming.
“Kylian, you never loved me. If you had, you wouldn’t have failed to recognize me.”
In the dream, she had become Lillith. Feeling it was her love, she confessed her love to Kylian and poured out everything she had held back.
But Kylian didn’t believe her.
Her dream was of something that had already happened, but would never come again. If the past was truly real, then why didn’t Kylian recognize her when their bodies had changed? Was it because he didn’t love her?
But Kylian had said it was because he wanted Anais to trust him.
“I thought the Wife lost your memory, that’s why. I believed that if your memory returned, you would come back to me, just like before.”
“Kylian.”
“My feelings for you are sincere. Please forgive me. I can’t live without you. Please don’t push me away.”
She remembered the image of Kylian crying while holding her.
“Uht…”
Anais woke from her dream.
“Wife.”
She realized she had woken up from a nightmare. Now, she was in Kylian’s arms. His strong, thick arms were wrapped around her.
