When the Villainess Died, the Male Lead Went Crazy - Chapter 134.2
“I’m sorry.”
“I don’t need your apology.”
At her cold words, Mephist closed his mouth and fell silent, like a condemned prisoner awaiting his sentence.
“Do you want to beg for my forgiveness now?”
“Yes.”
“Then follow my will.”
“…Alright.”
At Mephist’s strained response, Lillith found him even more pitiful.
“Swear to me by God’s name. Swear that you will follow my will, even at the cost of your life.”
Mephist stood before her, locking eyes with her. As she gazed into his eyes, she saw confusion, guilt, and an overwhelming desire to be freed from this guilt. It made her feel a sense of contempt toward him.
“Will this forgive me?”
“Of course.”
Lillith smiled as she looked at him. He looked like he was struggling, sighed heavily, and nodded. From then on, the High Priest of Death was bound to follow every word Lillith spoke. His life was now at her mercy.

Anais’ breath returned, thanks to the efforts of the Magic Tower’s sages. These sages, however, soon became sacrifices for her, and Anais fully returned to life.
The High Priest of Death became a puppet, obedient to Lillith’s every command. He mobilized all the temple’s resources to capture Anais’ soul, putting all his efforts into it.
“Why do you treat that thing like it’s precious?”
Lillith couldn’t understand why Decarve, who had once been a part of her, valued the Second Bishop so much. Phileal followed the High Priest around, his expression difficult to read.
“It’s pretty.”
“If you’re talking about pretty, Julias is much prettier.”
“Don’t talk nonsense.”
When Lillith returned to herself, the God of Death recognized her true essence and was pleased.
“His heart is beautiful. The way he follows me like a child is endearing.”
It was similar to the emotion she had felt when she first saw her creations. Seeing them love and follow her like children, she had come to love them in return. And so, even when they died, she made sure their souls wouldn’t be lost to the cycle of death.
“Still, it’s a bit of a shame.”
“All the priests you’ve gathered will die.”
“I know. I’ll reincarnate them. I’ll repay them too.”
Lillith no longer felt any difference between herself and Decarve. Their thoughts aligned, and there was no sense of estrangement.
“What about Goddess Roseraine?”
“I made her fall asleep with your spear. She won’t wake up for at least ten years.”
Having blocked the interference of the two most powerful gods, it was easy for Kylian Cypnos to use all the temple’s priests as sacrifices to bring Anais back to life.
The gods who could have protected them were asleep.

Lillith’s next destination was the Roseraine Temple. She intended to seek Lewarren’s help.
“I won’t fully cooperate.”
And, of course, Lewarren was being uncooperative.
“But you can’t live without Anais.”
Lillith knew that Lewarren had thought about dying several times. However, what had kept him alive was Kylian, who had fallen into an even worse state. Lewarren didn’t want to see Kylian, whom Anais treasured more than her own life, die. He had stayed by Kylian’s side to prevent him from taking his own life.
“Are you scared now?”
He had seemed uncertain when he had put the goddess he cherished to sleep with his own hands, but in the end, he followed Lillith’s will. It seemed that, like her, he hoped for Kylian to recover his senses and for Anais to return.
“I made Goddess Roseraine fall asleep with my own hands. What could there be to fear?”
“Then why say that?”
Lillith looked at him with a piercing gaze. She sighed, noticing that his long brown hair appeared unusually dry.
Lewarren had changed. Once content with his position, the reality he had stood on had shattered when Anais died.
“I believe that when Anais comes back to life, Kylian will return as well.”
“Do you think he’ll recognize her?”
“He will.”
“Lady Anais has wronged him quite a lot. Even if he recognizes her, won’t he just ignore it?”
“He will look into it, if it’s Kylian.”
Lillith knew that it was not enough power to bring Anais back in her original body. Therefore, she intended to bring her back in Lillith’s body, planning to transfer Anais’ soul into her own.
When a soul enters a body whose life is already at its end, the life force of that soul decays exponentially. If Anais’ soul, having already died once, were to be inhabited again, the remaining lifespan would be shortened dramatically.
“What if he doesn’t recognize her?”
“If he doesn’t, we’ll do as you suggested.”
Even so, Lillith planned to make sure Kylian wouldn’t be able to recognize her.
“Do you know what I want?”
“You want to regain your original power and erase everything, right? Then you plan to collect only Anais’ and Kylian’s souls, creating everything else anew?”
