Weed ~The One’s Gardener~ - Chapter 28
“…Weed, were you listening to me?”
Again, he had a dazed expression as if he had lost his soul.
“Weed.”
Hana grabbed Weed’s arm and shook it. Like he had finally come to his senses, he suddenly raised his arm and grabbed her shoulders before he lowered his head and pushed his face right up to her nose.
Two pairs of eyes that looked like they were made of molten gold were staring at each other.
“Did you say that it doesn’t matter if you don’t go back to your original world?”
Hana nodded her head.
“Did you say you… don’t want, to go back because… I’m not there?”
To be precise, she was saying that there was no one like Weed who consistently gave medicine without side effects at no cost. However, it was true that she said that, so she nodded.
Seeing her response, Weed licked his lips and tried to say something.
However, Hana didn’t wait for what he had to say. Since he seemed to finally understand, she drove her point into her last words.
“Weed, I will be the sacrifice.”
“You are not a sacrifice. Hana, this world now, the final void needs no sacrifice. It doesn’t do any damage…”
His hand on her shoulder trembled mercilessly. Weed was trembling all over his body for some reason, and it didn’t seem like it was because of fear or anger.
While trembling in that state, he hugged Hana tightly. She felt a sigh in her ear.
Wrapped around his warm, firm arms, Hana could hear the sound of his heart. It was thumping so hard that she could feel it against her own body. It seemed that his heart was beating so fast that he could not control his trembling body.
“…Weed, you need me. Right?”
“That…”
Weed rubbed his forehead against her shoulders or ears as if he were fooling around.
“…Yes. I need you.”
“The priests also told me that I was summoned for Weed’s sake. That’s why you are the most important person… uht.”
When Weed suddenly hugged her tighter, she let out a shallow moan.
“…I know that, so it’s okay. Weed, I’m really okay. It doesn’t matter if I use my body however I want. I think it’s okay if it’s for you. Do you understand now?”
“You said… it’s for me?”
Weed’s voice, which stuck right in her ear, was terribly cracked. It seemed like he was crying.
She wondered if it was because he was grateful or apologetic for the sacrifice she was trying to do for him. Still, she came to know that they were talking about different things until now from what Weed said next.
“Then, don’t say that you’re going to die. You…”
“Why?”
She couldn’t stand their repeating conversation anymore. Despite the fact that it seemed like they were talking, they weren’t communicating at all. She had no idea what he was listening to until now, and she doubted if he was only listening to what he wanted to hear.
As Hana pushed the trembling Weed as hard as she could, he couldn’t straighten his posture and hit his hips on the floor.
She spat out quite annoyedly at him, who looked up at her in awe.
“Why do you keep saying the same thing over and over again? I heard my blood worked? Whether Weed drinks my blood right away or eats my heart, I don’t care.”
“Don’t say that!”
“It will soon become obsolete anyway! It will be so if it is useful even to Weed…”
“I…!”
Hana was startled and pulled back. Weed raised his voice for the first time.
“You don’t know anything about what I want to do with you!”
“It doesn’t matter what you do, I’ll accept it! I said I wanted it!”
Weed laughed dejectedly.
“Do you really mean it, when you said it didn’t matter?”
He immediately got up and took hold of her wrist before letting it go again. While Hana was bewildered at the momentary grasp, he raised her suddenly. It seemed that he had grabbed her wrist and dragged her along, but he stopped and lifted her up.
“No regrets.”
He spoke in a blazing voice, chewing on her ear that he held in his arms.
11. You Are My Salvation.
It smelled good.
When she woke up in the morning and touched the blades of grass on the floor with her toes, when she walked on the grass here, when she soaked in warm water with petals floating in the spacious bathroom, and when she stood outside the window before going to bed and feels the gentle breeze coming in… it had a subtle good scent.
It smelled even better when it was with Weed.
The wildflowers and blades of grass all over the world seemed to praise him. He was wearing the strong scent of flowers. Although he didn’t even wear a special perfume, it was the first time she knew that a man could smell like this.
In the blink of an eye, his scent hit Hana again.
While being held by Weed, Hana wrapped her arms around his neck and hung on tightly. His long jade-blue hair tickled her cheek.
“We, Weed!”
She was puzzled.
Even though she had known by sight that his body was strong, she had forgotten how strong he was. Without hesitation, he got up from his slumped position and approached her. He held her so lightly as if he was lifting a child.
Hana took a deep breath. The thick, intoxicating scent of flowers that emanated from him filled her lungs.
As she hung closer, his forearm tightened.
For her, she didn’t like the feeling of floating or falling. When the ground did not reach her feet, she felt uneasy and that was why her heart was beating like crazy. It felt like her heart was about to burst out.
She was taken aback and had to tell him to put her down, yet the words didn’t come out of her mouth. It was the first time she had seen Weed get so angry. Reflecting how angry he was, he didn’t even look at her with his face dyed red.
She called him, but there was no answer.
Weed took Hana and moved a few steps with a large stride. She thought he was going somewhere holding a person like this, but he didn’t go very far. It was only after the soft bed touched her back that she realized where she had been laid.
At last, she was able to face his as well. However, he was covering himself as if he was a threat.
“Obviously, you said it didn’t matter.”
And he reaffirmed what she said earlier.
Weed was shivering.
His voice was trembling.
What she thought earlier was true. He really had blazing eyes like a beast. The bright yellow eyes that constrict the pupils to the limit, like looking at a bright light, looked like a top predator with its prey in front.
Suddenly, his large body caught her eye.
If they were standing next to each other, she had to tilt her head and look up for a long time. His wide-open shoulders were enough to trap her in his arms. As if to prove his formidable strength, his forearm, the size of her own thigh, was tightly wrapped around her shoulder.
The tip of their nose touched, and she could feel his rough, hot breath.
Hana gulped.
It felt as if her neck would be bitten at any moment. She couldn’t even avoid the gaze that felt like it was tying herself up. However, even though there was such a high tension, strangely, she didn’t feel threatened.
Her heart beat loudly like she had climbed that high place again. The emotion she felt then was definitely fear.
But now, this was a little different.
She recalled Weed’s expression as he stood on top of a rapidly growing tree, facing her and smiling brightly as he approached.
A strong arm stretched out to her… the arms that looked warm. His smile, which she saw when their fingertips touched, was somehow thrilled. The beating heart now resembled that time.
If there were people like him in the original world, would they have accepted her with these strong arms? Would she have been hurt if he was there? Would she not have to suffer from endless pain? She had that thought before she passed out.
Weed spoke clearly in a low voice, like a growl.
“As you said, I desperately need you, so I will never send you back. Do you understand?”
Did she regret it?
She had no regrets.
