Villainous Husband, the One You’re Obsessed With Is Over There - Chapter 218
Chapter 109.2
Mantis, angered by these words, struck the wall.
“What nonsense is this all of a sudden?! Shouldn’t you have talked about that at the Temple of Tunia?! Do you suggest we go through the cumbersome process of contacting the temple again?”
“There’s no need to contact the temple. The Saintess is within the capital of Actilus.”
Eden spoke directly as if shutting the Mantis’s mouth.
“The Empress, Angelica, is the Saintess of Tunia. If you want to kill Raniero Actilus, you need to recapture her.”
“No, but the Empress…”
“She’s alive.”
A series of unpleasant gazes were directed at Eden.
“We have to rescue her.”
Someone asked suspiciously.
“A saintess, or whatever, it’s all fabricated stories… Could it be for personal reasons related to the Empress?”
The others gave a look of agreement to those words. Most people in the room knew that Eden had a personal connection with the Empress, so it was a reasonable suspicion.
Those who were tasked with setting up operations and leading people in the heart of Actilus had a lot of experience. It wouldn’t be the first or second time they had seen someone try to achieve personal desires by inserting them into an operation, only to derail the entire mission.
He wasn’t even angry at the suspicious looks. Even Eden himself admitted that his story sounded out of place and vague.
He was just at a loss.
Despite the fact that he was a sharp, intuitive thinker, he was far from eloquent. While it was easy for him to grasp something himself, persuading others was difficult. He regretted not earning their trust in advance.
Perhaps confessing that Angelica was the saintess was too hasty.
‘Should I have talked to Richard Sombinia first?’
Still, there was no guarantee that Richard would believe all of his words.
Though he had a compassionate personality, he wasn’t foolish enough to blindly believe individual claims in matters concerning the safety of the world and then adjust the course of action accordingly.
Eden eventually took a step back.
He didn’t entertain the thought of giving up on contacting Angelica. He just realized that he needed to think more deeply about how to persuade them.
But it was a needless worry.
The problem was resolved thanks to help from an unexpected source.

Seraphina emerged from the prayer room.
The food aid from Sombinia brightened the faces of most of the temple members. Only her face was dark.
“Everyone.”
Even her voice, usually as clear as dawn, sounded hoarse.
“I have something to tell you.”
Although the priests and paladins, each busy with their own tasks, let go of what they were holding in their hands without saying anything.
The Saintess’s words held such authority.
As they gathered around her, Seraphina looked at the faces of her family one by one. Their value was mercy, even if it sometimes meant compromising with reality and being hypocritical. She didn’t want to blame them for their imperfect faith.
It was because hypocrisy and pretense were always better than arrogant certainty.
She loved them. There were times when she felt fed up with them, but not now. So, that was why she was scared to be here. After this story ended, they would resent her.
Seraphina opened her mouth with a trembling voice.
“Our saintess is in Actilus.”
“What?”
Starting with someone’s immodest exclamation, the Tunia’s faithful looked at each other in confusion. Even though their reactions were intimidating, Seraphina had to keep speaking.
“Since last summer, I’ve already lost the qualifications of being a saintess. Since then, I haven’t received any revelation… I apologize for deceiving you all this time.”
As if it couldn’t be true, one of the priests asked loudly,
“But you did receive revelations, didn’t you? You foresaw the coming of the Actilus people in the winter, right?”
“I’m sorry… I learned that through a different way. It wasn’t the word of God…”
The people’s agitation grew.
In the midst of it all, Seraphina wondered if she might be the greatest sinner of them all. She should have never turned back time. Attempts to escape from harsh reality always brought about the worst outcomes—the contract with Providence and keeping her mouth shut in front of Angelica… and even trying to stop Eden’s departure.
“The Saintess is currently in the imperial palace of Actilus.”
A great commotion ensued.
“She’s the Empress of Actilus. She’s there as the only weapon to assassinate the heir of Actilla.”
Then followed a breathless silence.
Seraphina chewed her lip and bowed low.
“I’ll accept the punishment of deceiving you. I pretended to be a saintess without any qualifications. I apologize. Still, the story I’m telling you now is nothing but the truth.”
Just like the day she returned from the old sanctuary, she began a long tale.
