Villainous Husband, the One You’re Obsessed With Is Over There - Chapter 209
Chapter 105.1
Within less than thirty minutes after the two sat down together, Richard began to covet Eden’s talent. Eden’s insights into Emperor Actilus were profound. While he understood well what it meant to be the ‘Actilus’s successor,’ he vaguely remembered what Raniero looked like on the battlefield.
“He enjoys breaking down his opponent’s mental strength with sinister ideas. However, if you strip away the intensity that comes from the shock of encountering such a person for the first time and think rationally, his tactics are quite simple and clear…”
Richard’s upper body leaned heavily towards Eden. Eden, however, didn’t meet his gaze directly and continued speaking.
“It’s overwhelming with firepower. It’s the most efficient method he can choose.”
“Because there’s nothing lacking in Actilus’s army.”
“That’s true, but… That’s how the bond with Actilla strengthens. For them, war is truly a sacrament. The promised victory excites Actilla, making the Emperor’s glory even more resplendent and boosting the morale of the troops.”
Raniero’s specialty was all-out assault. Everything from assessment to execution of the strategy and achieving victory was rapid. That was why there was no surpassing Actilus in a frontal assault.
When Eden finally met his gaze, Richard flinched for a moment. There was a strange sense of discomfort in the pitch-black eyes.
Eden pretended not to notice and lowered his gaze.
“I’m aware that the conflict between Actilus and Sombinia has been relatively tense so far.”
“Sombinia has maintained the ‘high ground of defense’ until now.”
Richard acknowledged calmly.
Originally, in war, the one who defended was generally in a better position than the one who attacked. Moreover, Sombinia has fully exploited the advantage of the terrain beyond the mountains.
Still, even holding out like this has its limits.
“Raniero is a young emperor, still in his mid-twenties. His talent is brilliant, and his nature is cruel. If he continues to grow any further, he will become unstoppable, so we must put an end to it now.”
Eden nodded.
From Richard’s perspective, it was a natural conclusion. If they delay any longer, Sombinia would be swallowed whole. Not just Sombinia but many countries beyond it that relied on Sombinia as a shield to protect themselves would face the same fate.
“In truth, preparing for the end required a great deal of effort and numerous sacrifices, and the decisive action has also been significantly delayed due to various circumstances. I can no longer tell my compatriots hiding within Actilus to wait.”
The last sentence was deliberately dropped like bait to reel Eden in. Despite knowing Richard’s intentions, he took the bait.
“There are compatriots hiding within Actilus. Does that mean there is already Sombinian influence within Actilus? Did you secure a path into Actilus?”
“That’s right. We’re shaking up the region by starting a local rebellion in the border area and using chaos to attract more compatriots. We’ve also created several fake identities.”
A shiver ran down Eden’s spine.
“Are you saying that the surrounding countries of Actilus are being used as transit points for the Sombinian army? Have they given permission to do so…”
“Such cooperation has been happening for a long time .”
“But wouldn’t they face punishment from Actilus if they were discovered? Are you saying that despite the risk, they opened their doors to the Sombinian army?”
Richard let out a laugh.
“Even without such excuses, Actilus turns neighboring countries into wastelands and conquers them for no apparent reason. It’s just a matter of time before they get devoured. They know it themselves…”
“They would rather take the risk and bet on Sombinia taking down Actilus.”
Eden murmured blankly.
All hopes were directed towards Richard, the King of Sombinia. The small nations beyond the mountains want Sombinia to be their shield, and the smaller countries bordering Actilus have chosen Sombinia as a window against Actilus’s expansion.
Richard chuckled awkwardly.
Eden kept his mouth shut and studied Richard’s face. He still thought the charm and character of this man was perplexing, but there was one thing he could ascertain.
The world pinned its hopes on this king.
And his resolve seemed unwavering.
“But I’m in trouble. Like an undying demon of the battlefield… I truly can’t grasp how to resolve this. Decapitation might seem like a solution, but even separating his head from his body is only possible if we first subdue him first…”
Eden began to speak but then closed his mouth.
The only means to kill Raniero, the story of the Saintess, had to be kept as an unturned card for now.

“Eden!”
Despite the pleading tone in the clear voice calling him, Eden didn’t turn around.
The woman, who was callously ignored, grabbed his hand firmly as he stuffed clothes into a bag.
Eden’s feelings towards Seraphina were at their worst. In addition to the remnants of emotions left behind by the owner of his body, the resentment of Seraphina ‘knowingly hiding’ made him shudder. He closed his eyes and counted to three, trying not to get overly frustrated. His eyelashes trembled slightly.
“If you do this, I’ll be the only one in trouble.”
At these words, the other’s hand hesitated and withdrew. Eden called out with a hint of petulance.
“Saintess.”
He never heard any further explanation from Seraphina. This was the first time they had seen each other like this since returning from the old sanctuary. Nonetheless, Eden wasn’t an idiot who couldn’t understand the situation without an explanation.
He realized that the ‘intuition’ Angelica had begun to exhibit and the ‘revelations’ that Seraphina could no longer hear essentially meant the same thing.
Seraphina also knew that he had noticed.
