Villainous Husband, the One You’re Obsessed With Is Over There - Chapter 200
Chapter 100.2
Duchess Nerma’s face feigned composure, but a cold sweat trickled down her spine.
‘We need to run away now.’
Even though she didn’t know why the Emperor wanted to keep her, it didn’t seem like a very pleasant thing.
The escape plan was hastily put into action.
Both the Duke and Duchess of Nerma wanted to escape this pressure as soon as possible. And to handle this matter, they had to act quickly. If they delayed action under the guise of thorough preparation, the plan would unravel, leaving them unable to do anything.
The two of them didn’t tell anyone of their departure.
In the early morning, while everyone was asleep, they quietly left the house, only waking their whimpering son. The Duke of Nerma himself had arranged for a carriage to travel all night and escape the Capital. The coachman, who was quite trusted in the area, was used to moving around the area and was familiar with the gate guards. There would probably be no passes or baggage checks.
Duchess Nerma cut off her long hair, wore a hat, and wore loose-fitting clothes to conceal her figure.
She regretted not fleeing sooner.
Regardless, she had no choice because, on the very day the Empress collapsed, the Emperor summoned her to inquire about what had happened. She had no option but to fabricate a story, using the name of Countess Fallon as a cover. Who could have known that a fake funeral would be held shortly thereafter?
The Duchess recalled the mutilated corpse that had been placed in a shabby wooden coffin.
Perhaps that corpse could have been her own.
“Where are we going?”
“….”
“Are we going to grandmother’s house?”
The clueless son grumbled about wearing the clothes of a young servant.
“When can I change? Why do we have to leave at night?”
“Can’t you be quiet?”
When Duchess Nerma scolded her son nervously, he was surprised and fell silent at the sight of his mother, who was usually gentle and affectionate, acting completely differently.
Everything went smoothly.
The coachman’s carriage, purchased with gold coins, was empty. It had gone to the nearby region after passing through the gate, planning to bring back local specialties to sell in the Capital. There was no way they were going to stop and check the carriage, which was obviously empty.
Before getting into the carriage, Duchess Nerma held her son’s shoulders and looked him straight in the eye.
“From now on, you must never make a sound. Even if you’re hungry or need to pee, you must endure without saying a word. Otherwise, this mother will turn around and go back alone with your father. Do you understand?”
By this point, her son could tell that they weren’t going to his grandmother’s house. Confusion and agitation began to creep into the young son’s eyes. Nonetheless, there was no time to comfort him, and Duchess Nerma hurriedly picked up her son and got into the carriage.
Soon, the carriage started rolling. Inside, there was an unpleasant smell and it was very dark. Not a single ray of light entered.
They just had to get past the gate.
The Duchess thought to herself as she bit her nails. Despite having been criticized for it so much, this habit she had already corrected in her teenage years was reappearing under extreme stress.
As the gate approached, her heart pounded violently.
How much time has passed?
The carriage gradually came to a halt. Duchess Nerma leaned towards the coachman’s seat and eavesdropped on the conversation.
“Is it another early morning journey today?”
“Don’t complain. It’s such a hardship…”
“Good things come out early in the morning, so there’s nothing you can do. Well, good luck.”
“Yes.”
Her heart, which had been pounding like crazy, seemed to slowly find peace. The Duchess breathed a sigh of relief.
However, something was strange.
The carriage didn’t move.
The next moment, a faint clank sound was heard. Duchess Nerma fell into contemplation. Soon, the carriage door swung open wide, and the silhouettes of five Actilus’s knights were revealed through the dim moonlight.
One of them revealed his teeth and uttered.
“The inspection must be conducted thoroughly.”

The knights of Actilus roughly pushed the Duke and Duchess of Nerma onto the red carpet—the spot where Duchess Nerma received her medal today.
However, the situation had completely changed.
“It’s so predictable that it’s boring. Running away, it’s so cliché. Even though you know I despise such things…”
A chilling voice was heard from above their heads. As the couple trembled as they looked up at the throne, something caught Duchess Nerma’s eyes.
It was a map. A world map.
After wondering for a moment, the Emperor rose from his throne with silent steps and approached slowly.
“Now is it time to find out why you tried to run away?”
One of the knights handed the Emperor a dagger.
As he took it, he closed his eyes and randomly stabbed it onto the map of the world. Unsure of what the sequence of actions meant, the Duke and Duchess of Nerma momentarily forgot their fears in bewilderment.
“Let’s see.”
The Emperor pulled out the dagger and handed it back to the knight. Coincidentally, the randomly stabbed dagger tip pierced through the map of the distant and marginalized nation of the Kingdom of Unro.
The corners of his lips curled up.
“Ah, I was wondering why you ran away like a rat even though you had the honor of receiving a medal…”
It sounded as if he was singing.
“Was your plan to conspire with the Kingdom of Unro and sell out Actilus?”
