Villainous Husband, the One You’re Obsessed With Is Over There - Chapter 163
Chapter 82.1
“Prepare your horse now. Bow as well.”
As Raniero uttered in a rough voice, Countess Tocino paused for a moment before she hastily went to prepare the horse, flustered.
The only thought dominating him was that he had to leave for the Temple of Tunia immediately. He didn’t know why Angelica went there. Despite the fact that he wasn’t certain whether she was still there, there was no time for speculation because the determination to go forward prevailed.
‘…I have to go quickly.’
Even if she wasn’t there in the same place right now, he needed to get there as soon as possible… before any trace or clue of Angelica’s presence disappeared.
As his face kept getting hotter, his heart became impatient, and his vision narrowed. The distance to the Temple of Tunia, which didn’t seem so far away until now, now seemed to stretch out in the darkness. In addition, snow would greatly obstruct his path. It probably hadn’t melted yet since it was only natural, considering how much had been poured.
The road to Angelica was filled with obstacles.
Even though Count Tocino approached and offered to provide the best personnel for the Emperor’s service, Raniero didn’t even pretend to listen.
‘I have to go alone.’
He thought.
Taking troops along would be too conspicuous. Besides, his, who had received the blessing of God, was beyond what ordinary people could match. At that moment, the voice that usually instilled impulses in his mind this time suddenly held him back.
‘No, don’t go. It’s a trap.’
Whenever he trusted his instincts to that voice, things always turned out well. He knew it from experience.
However, for the first time, he didn’t follow that voice.
No matter what it whispered, he had to go.

Even at this very moment, Raniero was approaching. When I thought of him galloping across the wilderness at a terrifying pace, I couldn’t eat or sleep.
Playing house had completely come to an end.
I didn’t know why the original plan changed. Seraphina escaped the cruel fate that surrounded her, and I was left scratching and clawing.
At Seraphina’s request, Eden’s probation was lifted. She separately met with the Archbishop and the captain of the paladins and had lengthy discussions. It was a fight with a predetermined outcome. After all, the influence of the Saint in the Temple of Tunia was absolute. In the meanwhile, the people of the temple treated me as an unwelcome guest.
While I tried not to show it outwardly, the underlying discomfort that was stuck in between their kindness couldn’t be easily erased.
Of course, I didn’t expect a warm reception. I was never a guest who would be welcomed in the first place, and from their perspective, I understood that I was akin to a time bomb, having fled from Emperor Actilus. If it were any other people, they would have likely kicked me out immediately. So, all things considered, the fact that they had tolerated me so far was commendable enough to give the Temple of the God of Mercy its name’s worth.
Regardless of understanding all that, I felt lonely anyway.
Even though Seraphina and Eden were on friendly terms with me, they couldn’t truly empathize with my situation. Seraphina tried her best to help me with all her heart, but she didn’t fully understand my circumstances. On the other hand, Eden only used everything around him as a tool.
I wasn’t that I wasn’t grateful to both of them, but especially Eden.
To be honest, I thought he would abandon me. After all, he was someone who prioritized efficiency over loyalty. The moment he said he wouldn’t let me die, I found some comfort. Nevertheless, I was still anxious, thinking that if I acted too obstinate, I might eventually be abandoned. Having left even Cisen behind at Actilus, I had nowhere else to turn to.
The more I was around people, the more suffocating I felt. So because of that, even though there was no reason to stay cooped up in Seraphina’s room now, I didn’t come out.
Then, one night, Eden and Seraphina came to me.
Both of them were wearing serious expressions.
“In principle, there are people who shouldn’t come in.”
Although I quipped casually, I couldn’t even manage to smile.
“It’s alright because I had permission from the room owner.”
Eden lightly accepted my joke and sat down in front of the bed before Seraphina, after hesitating for a moment, took a seat next to him. I nervously ran my fingers through my hair.
Eden spoke, his tone soothing.
“The Emperor won’t come with an army, right? Even if he doesn’t know, the knights’ condition won’t be in good shape.”
I nodded.
“In the end, he’ll come alone, and if he’s alone, it doesn’t mean our chances are hopeless. The combat prowess of the paladins isn’t to be underestimated .”
At those words, Seraphina pursed her lips and lowered her head. I didn’t miss that subtle signal.
“Maybe we shouldn’t be too pessimistic. If we consider that we’ve drawn the Emperor, who has been exhausted for a month and a half, into our territory…”
It may have sounded plausible at first, but it was too wishful thinking for the cool-headed Eden. He deliberately ignored the fact that Raniero was Actilus’s godson and that he possessed a prodigious talent for killing.
To appease me.
