The Omega Princess and Her Two Leashes - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
“Oh my, the princess has just become an adult. It’s just that her development is a little slower than others, but her pheromones will mature and intensify soon, and then she’ll naturally develop a taste for Omegas. Hoho!”
She spoke warmly and affectionately, as if she had watched Arlenrose grow up since she was a child. She was a woman who was quite easygoing for a noblewoman, to the point of being called the neighborhood auntie. If only she wasn’t fondling the butt of the male Omega next to her.
“This is my personal opinion, but I’m against this so-called discipline. Why is it necessary to teach tools by coaxing and appeasing? We need to suppress and coerce Omegas more than we do now!”
Someone who was completely oblivious to the atmosphere that was finally starting to lighten up threw a wrench into the works. It was Giovanni, the Omega-hating Viscount who had been muttering to himself the whole time. He seemed unable to hold back his rising anger and slammed the table as he shouted.
“You talk about discipline, but because you coddle Omegas, they dare to act recklessly and even start liberation movements!”
“You have a point.”
Count Douglas nodded in agreement.
“It’s poisonous to let them run wild. It’s true that Omegas have become more unruly lately. If we suppress them a little more, it will be a good example for the liberation movement.”
“That’s exactly what I’m saying. As expected of a great Alpha, you understand quickly.”
“However, many Omegas, even among themselves, hate that liberation movement. Wouldn’t it be unfair for those innocent and harmless Omegas to suffer as well?”
“There’s a problem with that way of thinking. Why should we be concerned about the emotions of mere tools?”
“I agree. Omegas don’t need sympathy in the first place.”
“But the Omegas are….”
The nobles each began to add their own opinions to the debate, and the room was quickly filled with noise.
In the midst of all this, Douglas remained silent, sitting still and looking at Arlenrose. Then, when the commotion had died down somewhat, he slowly opened his mouth.
“What does Your Highness think?”
At Douglas’ question, all eyes turned to Arlenrose at the table. Arlenrose, whose smile had disappeared at some point, was pursing her lips when someone’s hand tightly gripped her shoulder.
It was her older brother, Crown Prince Enrique Vi Fleurose. Arlenrose turned her head in surprise, and he whispered to her.
“Smile. That’s all you have to do here.”
He didn’t need to say anything more for her to understand. Arlenrose forced the corners of her mouth up and smiled again.
“Is it really necessary to oppress the entire group? All it takes is one example.”
“And by one example you mean…”
“The leader of the Demonas, Diabolus.”
“Ah!”
The room, which had been silent for a moment stirred again at those words.
“That’s right. Wasn’t he the one who incited the good-for-nothing Omegas and caused this whole mess in the first place? If we just get rid of that one person, it’ll be solved.”
“Indeed. No matter how many remnants we capture, it’s useless if the head remains. On the other hand, if we just cut off his head, the group will naturally disband.”
“We must punish him thoroughly so that he can serve as an example!”
“He’s a clever Omega, but he runs around like a loach, so we have to catch him and make an example of him!”
As the target of their anger narrowed, so did the topic of conversation. Once they didn’t focus on her, the hand that had been tightly gripping Arlenrose’s shoulder loosened. Enrique patted her shoulder as if to say she had done well. It was a sign that she could leave for the day.
Arlenrose smiled like a doll, and when the melody of the song that had been playing came to an end, she carefully stood up. She left the ballroom, as Peregrine and Carmin followed after her.
Peregrine watched Arlenrose’s condition with concern as she walked quickly as if she was being chased.
“Are you alright, Your Highness? You don’t look so good.”
“I’m fine… I’m fine.”
Her breathless reply was obviously not fine to anyone who heard it. Cold sweat trickled down her pale face.
“Sweat…”
As Peregrine reached out to wipe away the sweat, but Arlenrose’s hand slapped his away.
“Your Highness?”
Peregrine’s eyes widened in surprise. Arlenrose looked back at him, even more surprised.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’m just a little sensitive right now…”
Peregrine quickly shook his head, his expression apologetic.
“No, it’s not that. I know that Your Highness has a hard time in crowded places.”
“Peregrine…”
Arlenrose looked at him apologetically and then smiled awkwardly.
“I want to be alone. Please leave me for today.”
“Yes, Your Highness.”
The door to her room closed firmly, leaving Peregrine and Carmin outside.
“Gasp!”
Alone, Arlenrose gasped for breath. She rushed somewhere and gagged several times.
The thick pheromones of the Alphas that were wafting all around her clung to her body like sticky goo, tormenting her. Even though she was alone, she couldn’t shake off the overwhelming scent.
Her trembling hands reached into a drawer and found a bottle of pills. Arlenrose dumped out a handful of pills and swallowed them all at once.
“Gasp.…”
Eventually, her labored breathing and convulsive trembling subsided. Arlenrose gasped for breath in agony and then looked up at the mirror.
The serene smile she had worn in the ballroom was gone, replaced by a face that looked as though it had its mask lifted off. Her neatly combed platinum blonde hair was disheveled, and her sapphire eyes, which had been as smooth as polished gemstones, were now wet with tears.
She was disgusted with herself for being so flustered just because of an Alpha’s pheromones. Overwhelmed with self-loathing and disgust, she collapsed on the dresser, her head hanging low.
A Beta with a weak pheromone level, barely enough to avoid being an Omega.
It was laughable. Because she wasn’t even that.
The only princess of the last kingdom on the continent, Fleurose. The woman known as the Glass Rose of Fleurose.
Arlenrose Vi Fleurose was an Omega.
