Savage Forest - Chapter 135.2
It wasn’t that she didn’t want it.
It was just that since their reunion in Nervana Forest, the two of them had been together constantly, sleeping side by side, but they had never gone beyond that. They had barely even kissed, except for the first time.
‘Come to think of it, it’s been ages since we last did it…’
Enya unconsciously placed her hand on her belly.
Her belly had grown noticeably, making her look pregnant.
She felt flustered after such a long time.
Tarhan noticed her expression and, without a word, quickly put her shirt back on. He had clearly sensed what she was thinking and hurriedly spoke up.
“Don’t misunderstand. I’m not trying to do anything more than wash…”
It seemed he was a little flustered, too. This expression of Tarhan’s was a rare sight, except during their childhood.
“I swear, I wasn’t planning to do anything beyond washing right now. You know that, right? We’ve bathed together plenty of times…”
The two of them stared at each other with their noses turning red.
“I’m no beast… I wouldn’t take advantage of you, especially with a child on the way.”
He rubbed his forehead awkwardly, explaining in an almost uncomfortable manner. Seeing him like that, Enya felt a strange sense of unease.
And then, she couldn’t help but laugh a little. Now that she thought about it, he had always put her and their child’s well-being first. He had genuinely brought her here to wash, and it was just her own mind that had wandered to other thoughts.
Realizing that, she felt a little embarrassed.
When Tarhan noticed the corner of Enya’s mouth twitching upward, he finally let out a sigh of relief.
“Anyway, I’ve sent all the workers toward the village, so we don’t need to worry about anyone coming. But if you’re uncomfortable, I’ll keep watch. You can go ahead and bathe first.”
Enya nodded.
Tarhan, perhaps thinking she still felt uncomfortable, turned his back and clasped his hands behind him.
His broad back came into view.
Enya stared at his back without thinking, and suddenly froze.
‘Ah…’
She had thought she’d be used to seeing the upper bodies of Nervana Forest men as they walked around bare-chested in the hot weather, but that wasn’t the case.
She unconsciously swallowed a dry gulp.
Compared to the sturdy men of Nervana Forest, Tarhan’s build looked even stronger and more dependable.
Honestly, in her eyes, he looked nothing short of perfect, almost intoxicating.
His broad, even shoulders, his thick, muscular back. The countless scars across it, though covered in dust, didn’t seem dirty at all. His narrow waist was firm behind, even though they were hidden beneath his work trousers.
The veins that stood out along his muscular arms, the beads of sweat that gathered between them, seemed like God’s gift in Enya’s eyes.
For the first time in a long while, she found herself studying Tarhan’s body before her face flushed. She didn’t even know why she had been feeling so awkward about him. After all, wasn’t this man the father of the child growing inside her?
The two of them had never hesitated to do much more before they had a child. There was no need to fear him, no reason to be afraid of this situation. Enya’s heart began to race.
“Enya?”
As he didn’t feel her movements, he called her name while still facing away. Enya shyly lowered her head and answered.
“Let’s bathe together, Tarhan.”
She could feel his body stiffening almost instantly.
Enya slowly took off the shirt he had given her to wear earlier. While she felt a little embarrassed to be exposed, she continued and carefully took off her trousers as well.
The sun was already beginning to set, and the moon had risen.
Enya was glad it wasn’t broad daylight. When she glanced ahead, she noticed Tarhan had turned around and was now looking at her. His body looked visibly stiff with tension.
As expected, he seemed quite flustered.
It must have been a long time since he had seen her naked like this. As expected, his mouth was slightly open, and the tips of his ears had turned a little red.
“I, I’ll go in first.”
Enya felt embarrassed to face him any longer and quickly ran toward the water’s edge. She bent down swiftly and dipped her feet into the water.
Just as Tarhan had said, the water was pleasantly lukewarm, perfect for bathing.
Before he could join her, Enya quickly washed off the dirt and dust from her face, neck, back, and limbs. After wetting her hair thoroughly and scrubbing her body a few times, she began to feel a little refreshed.
That was when she heard the sound of footsteps in the water.
It seemed Tarhan had finally entered, fully undressed, and was walking toward her. Enya felt her heart start to race suddenly. Her pulse was pounding in her ears.
Trying not to show it, she gulped and turned around.
There he was.
Tarhan was standing with the setting sun at his back. The fading red light cast a warm glow on his bronze skin, making it seem as though his body was surrounded by a fiery aura.
As she saw his bare body wet from the water, she blinked rapidly.
Tarhan was staring directly at her.
Seeing the look on his face, Enya could almost imagine herself making the same expression as he did.
