“…Lacie.”
“Yes, Father.”
“You’ve been scheming, huh.”
“…I was desperate.”
“Well, if it’s that crucial to you, we can’t back down. That’s the spirit of our family. Never backing down.”
“Yes, Father.”
The count smiled warmly, his gaze on his daughter filled with gentle affection.
“Haha, they say blood is thicker than water. You two are a perfect match! I did everything I could to win over your mother, too. Even though she was frail and I had to let her go early, I have no regrets.”
“…Yes, Father.”
“Deneb.”
“…Yes, sir!”
“Even if we proceed with the engagement or wedding ceremony later, start packing and move in immediately.”
“…Sir?”
“It’s unacceptable for a knight’s son-in-law to not wield a sword. Starting tomorrow, you’ll begin training immediately.”
“Father?”
After speaking, the count stood up and deeply bowed to us.
“Thank you for coming all the way here to enlighten this old man, Grand Duke and Grand Duchess.”
“It’s nothing.”
“No need to thank us. We are the ones who are grateful.”
Despite Ciel’s attempts to stop him, the count continued to express his gratitude. Our connection with Lacie had certainly played a role in our visit, but a sense of duty also motivated us.
“I suspect there will be many more cases like this in the future. The Goddess does not choose Espers and Guides based on their social class.”
The Goddess Asteras chose Her followers based on their love for Her, a selection that would remain unchanged.
“Therefore, if there are Espers and Guides who need our help in the future, we’ll be ready to assist.”
We will support Espers and Guides to ensure they can live stable lives.
At my words, Ciel smiled, his white teeth shining as he laughed and said to the count,
“I always support what my wife says.”
He then firmly grasped my hand, proving himself to be a dependable husband.

We stayed in the Clausent domain for a few more days, joining the count’s knights in a monster subjugation campaign while sharing knowledge on how to deal with and manage monsters.
Additionally, I taught Deneb how to channel energy without leaking it, and how to guide more efficiently.
“Your Highness the Grand Duchess.”
“Lady Lacie.”
“Miss…”
During a lesson with Deneb, Lacie entered. She approached with a radiant smile.
“Should I bring in some tea and snacks?”
“Ah, I hadn’t realized how much time had passed.”
“I apologize for intruding on your precious honeymoon.”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Lacie hesitated before continuing.
“I couldn’t think of anyone but you to ask for help…”
“I’m truly grateful as well,” Deneb joined in with his thanks.
“I was actually glad you asked for help, Lady Lacie.”
“…If you need help in the future, I’ll be there anytime. I promise.”
“Me too… I’ll also be there, Your Highness.”
“Fufu, that’s truly reassuring to hear. Shall we have some tea then?”
“Yes, just give me a moment. I’ll bring it right away.”
While waiting for the servant to bring the tea, I watched Lacie and Deneb exchange glances.
Although Ciel and I were also newlyweds, the atmosphere was quite different from theirs. Well, it was our second marriage, so it couldn’t be the same.
“Pardon me.”
The servant brought the tea and set it up. I took a sip of the warm tea and looked out the window.
“It’s the first snow.”
“Huh?”
“Wow…”
The three of us marveled at the heavy snowfall. While the arrival of winter was welcome, it also brought concerns.
“The knight squadron that went on the monster hunt is returning today, right?”
“Yes, they should arrive before sunset.”
“Hmm, I should go out.”
“I’ll lead you there.”
We headed down to the mansion’s entrance.
“Oh, Your Highness. They’ve just passed through the iron gate.”
Upon hearing Lacie’s words, I turned around. Fortunately, it seemed Ciel and the count had safely returned. I spotted him from a distance and stepped outside.
Riding towards us, he quickly spotted me and took off, arriving in an instant. Embracing me tightly, he whispered,
“Being apart for a few days during our honeymoon seems like a bad idea.”
“You’ve worked hard, Ciel.”
“Just taking in your scent makes me feel alive again.”
As I was about to guide him, Ciel suddenly lifted me up.
“Honey?”
“We’ll excuse ourselves for a moment. Please welcome the Count and the knights for us.”
He flew up and entered our guest room through the window. Snow and wind rushed in momentarily before the window shut. Using his wind ability, he closed the window and carried me to the bedroom.
“Your skin must be sprinkled with sugar.”
“Ah, Ciel…”
“Even your scent drives me wild, like an animal in heat.”
“Haah…”
I embraced him tightly, pouring all my strength into guiding him. His energy quickly filled up, and heat surged between us.
Having been apart for a while, we shared each other’s warmth.
