Refusing Your Ex-Husband's Obsession: A Guide - Chapter 156
Chapter 156

“Wow, unbelievable.”
Seo-yoon let out a hollow laugh and brushed off her dress herself. The dress gifted by the crown prince was adorned with transparent diamonds all over, shining like sunlight scattering on waves whenever she moved.
“If even one diamond is missing, I won’t let you off. How dare you covet the Saintess’s jewels?”
Irene looked disdainfully at the grumbling Seo-yoon. She felt relieved internally—it would have been a big problem if Seo-yoon had realized she was looking for the phone.
Although it was fortunate she wasn’t caught, it was disappointing that she couldn’t search Seo-yoon’s dress anymore. Since she hadn’t felt anything, it seemed unlikely the phone was hidden in the skirt.
“I had no such intention, but if Your Eminence has misunderstood, then it’s my fault. However, I can swear without shame in the name of the Almighty Asteras.”
“End it with a vow to God? Are you insulting me now?”
“Is it an insult to speak of God in front of the Saintess? I mentioned the most trustworthy entity to assure the Saintess’s peace of mind.”
Seo-yoon was infuriated by Irene’s unwavering responses. She raised her hand as if to slap Irene’s cheek, driven by anger.
Irene watched the swiftly descending palm without even blinking. She slightly twisted her body, hoping the slap would leave a large, distinct mark.
Just then, a strong gust of wind burst through the window. Seo-yoon, who should have only felt a mild breeze, staggered significantly.
“Uhh?”
“…Saintess?”
“Kyahh!”
Irene instantly realized what was happening. How could a wind target only one person?
Who has been watching from where?
Irene spotted a pair of bright blue eyes outside the window that had been open for some time. Ciel was staring intently at her, then turned his gaze to Seo-yoon, who had fallen to the ground.
Irene was astonished by his behavior.
Just now, an Esper attacked a Guide?
Despite being a rare occurrence, it’s not totally unheard of for an Esper to attack a Guide.
“What is this!”
Startled and indignantly sprawled on the floor, Seo-yoon got up, annoyed.
And as she did, something fell from her skirt.
A small pouch, appearing oddly out of place, dropped with a muffled sound onto the floor, drawing Irene’s attention.
Irene quickly helped Seo-yoon up and picked up the unassuming pouch as well.
“Give it back!”
Seo-yoon snatched the pouch back with a sharp response.
“Why are you picking up someone else’s belongings?!”
“I was just trying to return it to you…”
“Tell me the truth. You were trying to steal it, weren’t you?”
“I don’t understand why you keep insisting on that.”
“Hah! Just go. Stop with your disgusting act and piss off!”
Seo-yoon couldn’t contain her frustration any longer and yelled. A gust of wind blew through the room.
“Ahh! Close the window, will you!”
Not realizing why Irene was unaffected, Seo-yoon ordered her. As Irene moved towards the window, the wind ceased.
Click.
After closing the window and feeling relieved, Seo-yoon steadied herself on the sofa.
“This place has the worst wind, ugh!”
Unaware that someone might have been manipulating the wind, Seo-yoon sat down and gestured to Irene.
“Leave.”
“Are you sure you’ll be alright alone?”
“Just stop talking back and just leave already.”
“Yes, I shall.”
Observing quietly, Irene paid close attention to the pouch tightly held in Seo-yoon’s hand.
“I’ll excuse myself, then.”
“Ugh, seriously so damn annoying.”
After Irene left, Seo-yoon opened the pouch in her hand. Inside, it was as dark as pitch. Peering into the odd space, Seo-yoon muttered.
“My phone.”
Saying so, she took the phone out, and it popped out of the pouch. Checking if it was still working, she murmured.
“Worried for nothing. Phew.”
One day, the crown prince had taken her to a secret place in the palace filled with astonishing jewels, crowns, and seemingly mundane objects.
When he gifted her the most unremarkable-looking pouch, Seo-yoon thought it was a test and accepted it without question. However, his next words left her astonished.
“I’ve only read about a dimensional pouch in novels. Never thought I’d see one in real life.”
Magic still exists in objects, even if the mages were already long gone…
“Fascinating. But why did the mages disappear? The crown prince said they existed in the past…”
Wishing to see a real mage, like in novels or movies, Seo-yoon shook her head.
“Well, what difference does it make between a mage and an Esper?”
She had seen enough superpowers, though some rare abilities remained unseen.
“Maybe I should check that app again.”
