Obviously, It's My Child - Chapter 139
Next came hats and thick shoes.
“Let me go! What are you trying to do?!”
“If you break a promise, you turn into a snowman!”
“What?”
Erich entered the glass room, just one room away from the living room.
This space was once inhabited by Erich’s grandmother and had been converted into a greenhouse. However, due to Baden Castle being vacant for a long time, the greenhouse was also dismantled. It was a costly facility to maintain without anyone’s particular interest.
But when the lord and lady decided to visit this time, the castle’s steward found a new use for this greenhouse: a safe playground for the young master.
The snow that had fallen through the skylight that was left open since yesterday, lay untouched and soft.
Erich playfully threw Claire into the snowbank.
“Kyaak!”
Startled, Claire screamed as she sank into the snow, leaving an imprint of her shape.
“Me too! Me too!”
Erich picked up Elliott and lightly tossed him next to Claire. Elliott landed next to her.
Elliott flapped his arms and legs, leaving the traces of a tiny angel in the snow.
Covered in snow, Claire watched the scene with a bewildered face.
“I wondered what you two were doing, so this was your plan?”
“Since you didn’t keep your promise to make a snowman, it’s only fair to become one as compensation.”
At that, Elliott laughed joyously.
“Haven’t you been excluding me lately, just the two of you having fun?”
“Isn’t the problem that you don’t join in?”
“It’s for you two to get closer.”
“Didn’t you just say that Elliott and I were leaving you out?”
Left without a response, Claire closed her mouth. She had to admit it honestly.
It was true she had been a bit neglectful because Erich was so good at playing. But still.
“I’m a pure southerner. I’m not used to snow play.”
“Are you cold?”
Erich, dressed merely in a shirt, vest, and slacks, asked in surprise. In contrast, Claire was bundled up in thick padding and a down-filled sleeveless coat.
Objectively, it wasn’t that cold of a place. The location was prone to snow due to wind hitting the mountains, but it wasn’t the frozen realm of harsh winter.
Moreover, this place was originally used as a greenhouse, so it hardly let in any wind.
“It’s not like I’m going to catch a cold.”
Claire stretched out her hands. Erich took them to help her up.
Seizing the moment, Claire put her weight into it and pulled him with all her might.
“…”
Erich didn’t budge. Though expressionless, Claire could read a challenge in his face, as if telling her to try harder.
“Hiick!”
Clamping her teeth and pulling with all her might, instead, her body was pulled up from the snow.
“Ha. Really. You could’ve pretended to be tricked.”
“If you were aiming to get into the bathtub together, I’m willing even now.”
“Who would say that!”
Clare slapped his back.
Elliott, with his face covered in snow, shook her hem with his rosy cheeks.
“Auntie! Auntie, I’m a snowman!”
“Alright, alright.”
Clare sighed and started rolling snow with Elliott.
Elliott made three snowmen, satisfied only after naming them Mommy snowman, Daddy snowman, and Baby snowman.
And to the Mommy snowman, Clare’s scarf was added, and to the Baby snowman, his own hat.
“Hmm.”
Looking at Erich, who had nothing else to offer, Elliott pondered for a while, unsure of what to ask for.
Erich detached a button from his vest and handed it to Elliott.
“Hihi.”
Elliott ran off happily, planting the button on the Daddy snowman’s body.

Gustav Schwarz, the steward of Baden Castle, climbed the stairs with a pleased smile.
This place was distant from both Klausener Castle and the transport hub of Salzgitter. It had once functioned as a small Baronial castle but now was just an old building in a remote location.
There wasn’t much to see, and there were no major facilities. It was far from the industrial development that was energizing the entire region of Klausener.
However, there were hot springs. The budget for Baden Castle was still maintained because of them.
‘As a destination for couples, it’s a good place. Hmm.’
He nodded to himself with pride.
But, to be honest, he was surprised when Erich suddenly announced his visit.
It wasn’t exactly a place young couples would choose for their honeymoon. They would typically go to more luxurious, lavish locations.
He had never visited the place, but he had heard about a southern coastline where trees full of fruit surrounded the area, where one could enjoy grilling clams and crayfish to enjoy with wine.
Even if they had chosen a northern city, like Salzgitter, which is full of furs and jewels and plenty of attractions, it would have been understandable.
‘Just the fact that they chose to come to Klausener shows she is a nice person, and indeed, the Mistress is quite down-to-earth.”
Of course, for Claire, soaking in the hot springs was her idea of paradise. If the three-meals-a-day were delicious, she couldn’t ask for more.
So, when Erich mentioned the hot springs, she was immediately delighted and changed the initial plan.
[Is there also mineral water there? Not that it’s a must, but it would be nice to have. Not the hot kind, though.]
There was. Hearing this, Claire clapped her hands and said.
[Let’s just rest there for three years.]
From Erich’s perspective, he wanted to avoid any disturbance at all costs.
Staying in Salzgitter would mean not only Klausener’s vassals but also outsiders flocking in. Dealing with them was also a duty that naturally came with being born into nobility. They were obligated to meet and attend to their difficulties.
