My Past Life is Riddled With Many Sins - Chapter 69
“Senior Darien asked me not to take it off.”
“Then, you should listen to me as well.”
She was about to ask what he meant by that.
“I also have a gift for you, Regina Heather. Never take it off.”
His voice cooled as he pressed down on her earlobe firmly. The crushing sensation was brief, but sharp pain shot through her ear. Reflexively, Regina clutched at her ear, only to realize something was hanging there—likely an earring.
“Ugh!”
She winced from the delayed sting, but instead of asking if she was hurt, he grasped her hand and guided it down.
“It needs to be secured so it won’t fall out.”
Without her consent, he pierced her ear and fixed the earring in place with some sort of stopper.
Regina, surprised by the sudden piercing, thought to protest, but realized anger wouldn’t reverse what had already happened. Given the sins Yekarna had committed in her past life, she felt almost resigned, as if she should silently endure even worse.
As she remained still, he seemed to soften slightly and touched her ear again, attempting to soothe her.
The touch was gentle, yet pain from the fresh piercing made it unbearable. When she groaned in pain, he finally pulled his hand away. Regina noticed his long, white fingers were smeared with her blood.
Given that Friedrich was no expert in ear-piercing, it was no surprise there was significant bleeding.
“You shouldn’t be doing that!”
Regina jumped when she saw him lick the blood from his fingers. Why would he taste it? All those years of dining on the finest dishes in the palace, and now this bizarre behavior?
It felt like a parent who had nourished their child with the best foods only to find them picking up ants to eat outside. Regina, driven by a mix of shock and concern, instinctively grabbed his face.
“Spit it out quickly. That’s disgusting.”
She spoke firmly, staring straight at him. He blinked in surprise before responding calmly,
“We’ve shared all sorts of fluids before, so this is nothing new.”
“Ah! What are you talking about? That never happened! Who do you think you’re mistaking me for?”
“Well, you would know better than me.”
As Regina recoiled in horror and backed away, he raised an eyebrow and responded nonchalantly.
Somewhere, the spirit of Yekarna howled in protest. This is not my Friedrich. Give me back the pure Friedrich.
Regina blamed herself for the chaos, saying it was all because of the mess Yekarna had caused. If Friedrich’s current state was worse than in his past life, it was undoubtedly Yekarna’s fault for corrupting him.
The lamenting Regina fiddled with the earring as she began to speak.
“I’m not sure what it’s for, but I’ll accept your gift.”
The earring radiated a power that felt different, likely divine power.
‘Magic power in my hands, divine power in my ears, what a scene.’
Anyone would think she was a precious lady of a noble family, wrapped in protective magic with a ring and an earring filled with divine power for injuries. In reality, she was a tormented soul unsure of the magic and divine power encircling her.
“If you’re done, let’s meet another time.”
She actually hoped never to see him again but politely urged him to leave. He remained silent, looking at her, which unnerved her.
As she felt an uncomfortable warmth in her throat, he reached out and gently touched the earlobe with the earring, and the lingering pain disappeared as if by magic.
Divine power? Had he healed her with divine power?
Stunned, she touched her ear as he whispered,
“Pretty.”
“What?”
“The earring looks good on you.”
Regina nodded. She knew it. The pretty was directed at the earring, not her. She wasn’t delusional enough to think otherwise.
With those words, he left the room without saying goodbye. Regina was worried about whether he could make it back without being noticed, but considering he had arrived safely, she assumed he would leave safely too.
Curious about the design of the earrings he had mentioned as pretty, she lit a candle. Reflected in the mirror, the earrings appeared small and inconspicuous, a sensible style.
Of course, it wasn’t practical for a student to wear anything too elaborate…
“Was this his taste?”
Yekarna had preferred large and flashy jewelry. She was always adorned with something that caught the eye.
They really don’t agree on even these trivial things.
After staring at the earrings for a while, Regina blew out the candle and went to bed.

When Yekarna first saw Friedrich, she was twelve years old.
Her father was a monarch with weak authority, so dependent on the church that he had to visit the Pope every new year to pay his respects.
The moment she saw the Pope, who always acted so pompous in front of her father, doting on a boy her age as if he was a treasured jewel, she made up her mind.
She wanted him, and she would proudly ruin him.
It was a childish and petty revenge, wrong target even. Akin to breaking the favorite toy of a peer she disliked. But Yekarna was too young and immature at the time to admit such a fact.
With hair like silver threads that stood out from afar and a face as beautiful as a doll crafted by an artisan. They looked like an angel who had just descended to earth, the boy she would someday claim and destroy.
That was Yekarna’s first impression of Friedrich.
