My Contract Husband is Going Crazy Because of My Iron Wall - Chapter 37.1
Chapter 37.1
For some reason, I thought we were going to talk about something other than the second awakening, though it turned out to be about giving him the information he wanted before he played Camilla the recording.
“Why don’t you let her hear it? If you don’t, you’ll never get what you want.”
“You still won’t tell me about the second awakening… Wait a minute, why does he know?!”
Amil was startled and pointed at Reinhardt. Hmm… It was time to talk about this.
“I’m sorry, but I told him everything because young lord Leopold deliberately made Reinhardt misunderstand our relationship.”
“What? Why are you revealing someone else’s privacy without their permission?!”
“You ‘deliberately’ and ‘intentionally’ made him misunderstand our relationship.”
“….”
Amil shut his mouth as if he had nothing to say.
“Reinhardt won’t accuse you, so don’t worry.”
Reinhardt had already hidden one half-demon, so there was no reason why he couldn’t hide the two. If he accused Amil, I might be in danger, too.
“How can I believe that?”
“Don’t believe it if you don’t want to. I don’t intend to persuade you to trust me. If you want to play the recording for Mother, go ahead.”
Reinhardt, who had spoken coldly, suddenly grabbed my hand and lifted me up.
“I don’t think we’ll get anything out of him if we keep asking him the same questions, so let’s go have dinner.”
I followed him out of the office in a daze.
‘Amil knows that we’re in a contract marriage, so there’s no need to pretend that we love each other, but why did he hold my hand?’
I was feeling a little awkward and wiggling my fingers when Reinhardt as if anticipating my question, made an excuse.
“…I apologize. I’m not your man, so I can’t just grab you by the forearm and lift you up.”
“Oh, that’s true.”
Reinhardt slowly let go of my hand. I felt empty as the warmth that had filled my hand disappeared.
‘It was warm.’
Trying to shake off my undeniable regret, I rubbed my hand and changed the subject.
“…But what if young lord Leopold really plays the recording for Camilla?”
“I have an idea about that.”

Gerard slammed his fist on the tea table.
“Amil Leopold, what the hell is that young lord doing that he hasn’t contacted us yet?!”
“I heard that there are rumors of an affair between young lord Leopold and the Grand Duchess of Erestein. I don’t think you need to worry about him even if he doesn’t contact us.”
Roxanne tried to calm him down, but Gerard’s excitement didn’t subside.
“No! If Reinhardt is back and still leaving him alone, it must be a false rumor. You know his personality!”
His growling voice made a logical deduction for once.
“Perhaps he initially approached Irovel because of my order, but then he really fell for her, or he failed to seduce her.”
“Hmm…”
Roxanne slowly blinked her eyes as she sipped her tea.
“Why don’t you just give up on the Grand Duchess of Erestein and take another woman as a concubine?”
“No, I can’t have anyone but Irovel now.”
“It’s not too late to try for the Grand Duchess of Erestein again after taking another concubine.”
“…You’re not jealous. You even want me to have a lot of concubines.”
Roxanne quietly put down her teacup. She asked with her usual calm face.
“Is that not okay?”
“It’s not that it’s not okay, but I don’t understand. What does the Empress gain from having more concubines?”
“Well…”
“That ‘well’…”
Gerard, who was getting frustrated by Roxanne’s evasive answers, roughly loosened his cravat.
“If you don’t want to answer, don’t. I’ll do what I want, so let’s not interfere with each other.”
“What are you going to do?”
“Well…”
As Gerard mimicked Roxanne’s tone and left the room, he went into his office and pondered alone.
‘It seems like the young lord Leopold is not very promising, so I’ll have to find another way, but what should I do…’
It was annoying to try to think on his own without Roxanne’s help. Should he just use his authority to bring her to the palace by force? Wasn’t that what an emperor does?
As he was pondering this, Roxanne entered the office.
“What is it?”
Roxanne sighed helplessly at Gerard’s petulant voice.
“If Your Majesty cannot give up on the Grand Duchess of Erestein, then so be it. I will help you.”

Two letters soon arrived at the Grand Duke’s mansion.
One was, as Amil had said, Camilla’s notice of visit, and the other was… a summons to trial sent by the Imperial court. The defendants were Reinhardt and the Northern Defense Commander, John Eclipse. The charges were, surprisingly, negligence in managing the Northern Barrier.
“That’s nonsense! When did they send an emergency decree to lift the barrier, and now they’re trying to pin it all on Reinhardt!”
