It's Not Night - Chapter 183.1
At Andra’s confession, Dustin’s eyes widened momentarily before glistening with emotion, the corners curving into a slow smile.
Andra thought his smile resembled the tail of a fish gliding through water—vibrant and more lively than ever. He looked like a man completely smitten with love.
Suddenly, Andra wondered how she appeared in his eyes. Had Dustin found a woman in her who was just as in love? She hoped so, wanting to express her love for him in every way possible—through words, touch, and gaze.
She reached out, brushing her fingers gently across the dampness at the corners of his eyes.
Dustin closed his eyes, surrendering to her touch, feeling her soft breaths even through his closed eyelids.
Since their reunion, Dustin had shown tears more frequently than before. He had cried when Andra confessed her love, when she first smiled brightly at him, and even on their first night, when he felt overwhelmed with joy.
“Don’t cry. Why are you crying again?”
“…It still feels like a dream.”
There was a soft, deflated laugh in response. Dustin opened his eyes and gazed at her, recognizing that the person he wanted to give everything to was right in front of him.
“…I love you too, Andra.”
With a trembling voice, Dustin replied. He then leaned down, parting her lips with his tongue as he explored within.
Their long kiss lingered, again and again.
The days that followed in the south passed in a similar rhythm.
However, despite having come for a private getaway, Andra worried they might leave without seeing anything outside their accommodations. So today, she pressed her hat down firmly and set out with Dustin to explore the marketplace.
Of course, behind this decision was Andra, who had declared she was exhausted and was forcing her weary back and legs to drag him out. Regardless, the two began to enjoy their time as ordinary tourists in the resort.
“What’s your favorite color? I love yellow. It’s bright and cheerful, like spring, and it matches my hair color. What about you?”
“I don’t think I’ve really thought about it…”
“Surely you have a color you prefer.”
The streets were filled with shops selling souvenirs, as expected of a tourist destination. Andra thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to buy a few items to commemorate the moment, so she pulled Dustin into a store and began inspecting the souvenirs hanging on the walls.
Not long after, having found nothing that caught her eye, she turned to look at Dustin.
“If I had to choose, I’d say black and white.”
“Really? Just those two? No other colors?”
Andra’s eyes widened in disbelief, and she squinted at him.
“Aren’t those just basic colors? Think harder.”
She lifted her hat slightly and stared at him expectantly.
At that moment, Dustin let out a short sigh.
“What’s wrong?”
“I think I have a favorite color.”
“See? I knew there’d be at least one. What is it?”
Dustin’s gaze fell upon her sparkling blue eyes. They shone with a clarity brighter than the sky and a brilliance more dazzling than any jewel. He smiled softly as he replied.
“Blue.”
“Blue? Why?”
“Andra, it resembles your eyes.”
“My eyes…?”
Soon enough, Andra burst into laughter.
“What? Is that really it?”
Still grinning, he held his gaze. Her blue eyes sparkled beautifully.
Dustin reached out, caressing her cheek with one hand while firmly holding her hand with the other.
“What I love is entirely made up of you.”
Suddenly, Andra’s cheeks flushed red.
“Hey, how can you say something like that so casually…?”
Without realizing it, she turned her head away from Dustin, stammering to herself,
“Ah, it’s hot. Why is it suddenly so warm?”
“Do you want to take a break?”
“Uh, now?”
Dustin pointed to a cafe across from them, and Andra’s face turned an even deeper shade of red. She looked as if she might burst at any moment.
Seeing her flustered state, Dustin chuckled softly and leaned closer, playfully whispering in her ear.
“What were you thinking?”
“You… you…!”
“Let’s go, we’ve been here too long. It’s not good to overdo it.”
