I Unintentionally Cured the Grand Duke’s Insomnia - Chapter 95
48. — The Secret Behind the Original Novel (3)
“Adelia Blaise…”
A mocking sound escaped from Million’s lips, who was watching the three people moving further away.
Not only did she dare to steal his work, but she also stole the male protagonist. When he saw Adelia seeking advice from him on how to apologize to the original author, he couldn’t help but think that things were resolving themselves.
He thought it was better this way.
〈 You have to die. 〉
〈 You have to die and ask for forgiveness for your sins. It seems to me that that’s the only way. 〉
Seeing the shocked expression on the woman’s face, as if she had been taken aback by his words, he felt like all the stress that had been building up was being washed away. As he looked into Adelia’s trembling eyes, Million thought it was over. He could finally get rid of this annoying woman in front of him without getting his hands dirty.
Finally, the real moment when the original novel would begin has arrived.
〈 Oh, I’m running late. Well then, I’ll go ahead. 〉
〈 Isn’t it a little late? Is it okay? 〉
〈 Of course, You can just take the shortcut. 〉
〈 Even though there must be a lot of people on that route? 〉
Despite the worried man’s question, the man who appeared to be a coachman smiled as if it was nothing.
Million glanced silently at the horse waiting for its owner in front of the shop.
〈 Don’t worry. Our Thunder is a very clever horse. 〉
Upon hearing the man’s boisterous laughter and confident words, he decided to take advantage of his statement about its intelligence. As Million, who had been silently gazing at the man, slowly stroked the horse, a strange light momentarily emanated from the ring he was wearing for a moment.
All of a sudden, the once gentle horse suddenly became vicious.
Looking at the horse trotting, Million muttered in a low voice.
〈 She’s a woman with green eyes and hair that’s almost silver, with a pinkish hue when it catches the sunlight. You have to run toward that woman. 〉
〈 Excuse me, who are you? 〉
He walked ahead, ignoring the coachman, who walked toward him with a puzzled look on his face.
As if seeing a strange person, the coachman furrowed his brow, but soon, he seemed to remember that he was late and hurriedly climbed into the carriage.
He was just trying to offer a little help.
No matter how determined people may be to end their lives resolutely, there is a saying that in the end, they would hesitate when faced with death in the final moments. He was only trying to help Adelia a little, just a little so that such a thing wouldn’t happen… so that something that was finally back in its proper place wouldn’t get messed up again.
At the end of his indifferent gaze, there was a frozen woman in front of the approaching carriage.
In just a few more seconds, everything would finally fall into place.
…Just a little more waiting.
〈 Adelia! 〉
At that moment, a sharp voice that seemed to tear through the sky rang out.
He called out a name that should never have passed his lips. Then, the man reached out a hand that he shouldn’t have extended to the woman frozen in front of the carriage.
〈 She’s alive, she’s alive! 〉
Accompanied by a sigh of relief from the onlookers, he could see that Cain’s arm, as he held Adelia’s back, was trembling. He could also see the relief on Cain’s face as he lowered his head to check Adelia’s condition.
Unable to hold back his frustration, Million finally let out a curse from his lips, having confirmed the emotions in Cain’s eyes as he looked at Adelia.
Cain Destro.
The male protagonist of this original novel wasn’t meant to be happy.
He had to be unhappy.
He had to live isolated from the world, locked in the Grand Duke’s residence. For him, life had to simply be a series of days endured, one after another. It had to be something insignificant enough to let go of at any moment.
At least, until Irene appeared.
He had to feel an unknown emotion when he saw Irene, who had brought his younger brother, whom he thought was dead after treatment.
Looking at Irene, who had miraculously cured his severe insomnia, he had to think that light had finally found its way into his life.
…He had to consider Irene as his only salvation.
Million gazed expressionlessly at Adelia’s face, who had fallen asleep in Cain’s arms as if she had fainted.
It was all because of that woman that his original work, which was perfect, was twisted.
Adelia Blaise.
An insignificant extra character, who had never appeared in the original, was ruining his work.
“….No, we can start from the beginning. We can get rid of all the distractions and start from the beginning again.”
She was an extra that wasn’t even important anyway.
Killing off unnecessary characters and faithfully proceeding with the original novel was no different from the mission given to him as the author of this book.

These were memories that came to mind the moment I was possessed by this world, so I naturally thought they were mine.
I had never imagined that the owner of those memories might be someone other than myself and that I could be considering the memories of an unknown person as mine. It never occurred to me that the passion for the work I had ardently read through night after night, or the admiration for the author who wrote such a work, might not be my own emotions.
Still, it was fortunate.
It was fortunate that those memories were not mine, and it was a relief that those emotions weren’t mine.
