I Unintentionally Cured the Grand Duke’s Insomnia - Chapter 79
40. — The Secret of the Book (1)
Lily and I took a carriage ride to the café in the square, where Million was waiting for us. As I looked out of the carriage window, I couldn’t help but notice that the atmosphere of the square felt strangely different compared to a few days ago.
“Doesn’t something feel odd, Lily?”
“What do you mean?”
“The atmosphere of the square. Don’t you think it’s a little different from three days ago?”
“The atmosphere…?”
At my question, Lily leaned against the window and glanced outside. People passing by were giggling as they glanced at our carriage.
“Um, I’m not entirely sure, but could it be because of the book?”
“The book?”
“The book Young Lady published! It’s a huge hit now. Honestly, now that I think about it, I never knew your book would become so popular.”
Amused by her giggling words, I couldn’t help but let out a dry laugh, so Lily playfully apologized as she saw my reaction, showing a cute expression.
“I’m sorry, but if I knew it would be this popular, I would have read it as well! Ugh, I don’t know why I feel sleepy whenever I read books.”
“It’s okay. Lily isn’t the only one who falls asleep while reading.”
“Yes?”
“Even His Highness the Grand Duke falls asleep, too, just by reading my book.”
Yeah, he slept like a baby… to the point that I couldn’t even believe that he was an insomniac.
As I thought of Cain, who could fall asleep by just reading three lines of the book even though was suffering from insomnia, a wave of disappointment washed over me again. In truth, there was no reason to feel this way, but for some unknown reason, these emotions kept resurfacing whenever he crossed my mind.
“Ma-maybe it’s just a matter of taste! In fact, it’s strange that His Highness enjoys reading ticklish romance novels!”
Lily hastily offered excuses on his behalf as my face grew sullen. Then, sneaking glances at me, she quickly grabbed my hand and continued to chatter.
“Ra-rather than that, could the Young Lady add more illustrations when you publish your next book? It seems to be a trend these days to include illustrations!”
“Illustrations?”
“Yes, I think the Young Lady’s book would be more enjoyable if it had more pictures!”
“…Hmm, let’s wait and see about that.”
“Yes? Aren’t you going to publish more books?”
“I’m not sure. I’ve been trying different things, but nothing seems to quite satisfy me.”
“Well… Although I don’t know much about it, they say the agony of creation is tremendous.”
I chuckled bitterly at Lily’s words.
The agony of creation?
Her remark seemed to strike a chord, and I averted my gaze. However, before I knew it, the carriage had come to a slow stop.
“Ah. I think we’ve arrived, Young Lady!”
Lily confirmed the sight of a luxurious café outside the window and quickly got off the carriage. Following her lead and rising from my seat, my eyes narrowed at the sight of Million standing in front of the carriage.
“Young Lord Black.”
“I was worried that you might not come, Young Lady Adelia.”
I glanced at Million’s outstretched hand and hesitantly took hold of it. With his guidance, I stepped out of the carriage, and as I did, he beamed at me like a ray of sunshine on a beautiful spring day.
“Let’s go inside. There’s so much I want to talk to you about, Young Lady Adelia.”

Seated with Million at a table in the center of the café, I observed him as he casually placed our orders before carefully peering around. People who were murmuring around our table seemed surprised by my gaze and awkwardly cleared their throats.
Something felt strange.
“…Ah, Young Lady Adelia?”
“Oh, yes? Yes!”
“I ordered tea to go with the dessert. Is that okay with you?”
“Oh, yes. That’s alright. Thank you, Young Lord.”
Smiling as if relieved, Million cautiously asked as he noticed me constantly glancing around.
“Is something wrong, Young Lady Adelia?”
“Well, I feel like people are looking at our table.”
“Perhaps it’s because they’ve read the book written by the Young Lady?”
His playful smile in response made my cheeks flush with embarrassment. The title I couldn’t even bring myself to utter out loud echoed in my mind, and it reminded me of the gift he had given me that had made me come this far.
“That… right?”
“You’re leaving the subject, Young Lady Adelia.”
“No, you’re right! You’re Milcell, the author…”
My voice, which had been rising, naturally lowered as I became aware of the people around us watching. As if urging me to answer, he gazed at me with his eyes while wearing a mischievous smile.
“Why do you think so?”
‘He must really think I’m a fool.’
I placed the book and letter that I had placed next to me on the table in response to his question before opening my mouth.
“The handwriting is too similar.”
“….”
“I thought the Young Lord had purposely revealed your identity to call me out like this.”
A subtle smile crept across his lips, reassured by the confidence in my voice. Just as I was becoming a little impatient at the sight of him rolling his eyes in silence, a waitress approached and placed our order on the table.

i had a hunch that the book contained a spoiler of that world that no one must knkw, but that hunch is now a theory when i read that even lily gets sleepy.
in the case of million black, it might be because he’s supposed to be dead or sick, but he’s up and about. it might be that he is possessed too or there is a transgression. (or he’s secretly the author of the original novel.)
