I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 3
Chapter 3
I decided to regain my composure and not act impulsively anymore. First, let’s assess the current situation.
1. For some reason, I have become a character named Heyna, who was one of the main characters.
2. The function to quit the game was ‘still’ unavailable.
3. Heyna has extremely weak mental state and easily faints at the slightest shock, as demonstrated before.
This was a complete disaster. Given the situation, there was only one thing I could do.
‘For now, I should play the game and observe the situation.’
First, let’s meet the other characters. To reach where the other characters are, I stood up and looked around.
I spotted a door not far away.
‘Heyna is supposed to be easily scared. To avoid fainting like before, I should be as cautious as possible…’
Like a frightened rabbit, I nervously took careful steps, one after another. It took me quite a while to reach the door. Eventually, I arrived at the door. As I held the doorknob and slowly turned it…
Creak!
The door made a loud creaking sound…
Clank!
And it opened right away.
[Decreasing mental state by 5.]
Did my mental state decrease just because the door opened? Even though I set the character to be fearful, this was excessive!
I took deep breaths to calm my pounding heart.
But then, I suddenly saw a man standing in front of the door.
[Decreasing mental state by 5.]
‘Oh, come on.’
Unfortunately, I ended up fainting out of shock again.
* * *
“You’ve startled her by suddenly standing there. How could she not be surprised?”
“Then it’s your fault. Apologize to her when she wakes up.”
“Who do you think you are, telling me what to do?”
“What do you mean? You’ve seen me before. I am…” Before the woman could finish her sentence, I woke up.
“Oh, you’re awake!”
As soon as I made eye contact with her, she rushed over.
“Huh, she woke up!”
She sprinted towards me, our eyes meeting in the process. Her hair was like a freshly bloomed rose, and it cascaded down like waves. Within her cat-like, sharply arched eyes, her sky-blue irises looked at me with a worried gaze.
‘Ah, it’s Rose.’
It was Rose Liverton, representing ‘Lost’ in LMM. She was a character who complicated things for the player in various ways.
“Hey, are you okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine…”
“You must have been startled when he suddenly opened the door.”
“Oh…”
“Hey, what are you doing? Come here quickly and apologize.”
Before I could answer ‘no’, Rose called out to the man behind her.
Rose called a man who roughly swept his deep-sea blue hair. His subtly blue eyes, like the night sky, glanced at me, and his thick eyebrows furrowed, forming wrinkles between his eyes.
“That’s Tommy over there.”
Tommy, who has a hot-tempered and impulsive nature, easily gets angry over trivial matters. Based on his personality alone, he seems like someone who would cause a lot of problems, but in the game, he doesn’t have much influence. Thanks to that, unlike other characters, he doesn’t have any modifiers attached to his name.
‘I’d rather be Tommy than Heyna, who’s in charge of fainting.’
“Why apologize when there’s no harm done? Yeah, I won’t apologize. What are you gonna do about it?”
“Seriously, what can I do? I’ve never seen such a rude man like you in my life.”
“And I’ve never seen such a self-centered woman like you either.”
Although they had only just met, the two of them were already at odds.
“Are you two fighting again?”
Someone entered through the open door. Golden hair as radiant as the sun, slightly lighter than my own hair color, and golden eyes. He looked like a young nobleman from a wealthy family. He was the last character to appear, the cursed mouth*, Zion.
*TL/N: Previously, I translated this as troublemaker, which makes no sense considering his personality. Hence, I think it’s better to keep the literal translation instead.
As soon as he entered, Rose and Tommy glared at him as if they were waiting.
“He keeps ignoring me like he’s something. I told him to apologize nicely, but he’s pretending not to hear. He acts like he’s something.”
Rose snorted and rolled her eyes at Tommy. Seeing this, Tommy clenched his now trembling fist, as if he wanted to punch her right then and there. Fortunately, Zion intervened before that happened.
“Come on, calm down, both of you. This is not the time to fight.”
It was a calm and quick action, in line with Zion’s character, who was known for being calm and good at assessing situations.
Thanks to him, Tommy and Rose seemed to calm down a bit, but…
“And lady, apologize seriously to this person for what you said.”
“What? What wrong thing did I say?”
“Well, you didn’t say anything wrong. It’s just that even though you can see that this person looks like an uneducated commoner from their attire and way of speaking, saying something like that to their face is against etiquette.”
“What did you say? You brat!”
“As expected.”
It wasn’t just for show that he was called the cursed mouth.
Zion seemed like a character who would step in and resolve the situation when something happened, but he was the type to say things that would worsen the situation, even when it wasn’t necessary.
And Heyna…
‘She should be saying something by now.’
As if reading my thoughts, the dialogue selection box appeared in front of me. In fact, it couldn’t even be called a selection box.
[“Um, excuse me… Who are you all? And where is this place…?”]
She was only given one choice.
‘I was hoping there might be other options… I guess I can’t choose dialogue because I’m not the player.’
Why did I create Heyna as this kind of character? I wish I could at least choose the options, but of course, it didn’t go as I wanted. As time passed, my mouth spoke in-game dialogue against my will.
“Um, excuse me… Who are you all? And where is this place…?”
In response to my cautious question, Zion replied.
“It’s probably the Clarence Mansion.”
