I Think I’m a Horror Game Villain - Chapter 18
Chapter 18
“What?”
“Damn it. Rose kept pressing the button.”
Tommy’s curse made Rose look unfairly accused. Still, she protested with an indignant expression.
“What? Are you trying to blame me? I wasn’t the only one pressing the button. Zion and Tommy, you too…”
Rose and Tommy, who were growling at each other, fell silent when they saw the next message.

If my memory serves me right, reaching a difficulty level of 10 would result in an instant game over. Fortunately, we had pressed the button nine times. We had avoided a dead ending.
‘No, maybe it’s not fortunate.’
[The game will start in 5 minutes.]
The countdown, indicating the remaining time, began. And…
Footsteps echoed in the hallway. Even from a distance, it was clear that the footsteps did not belong to an adult.
Vaguely, something came into view.
It was a small boy that only reached up to my waist. His hair was cut straight and neat, as if he used a black visor. He had dark eyes, like chocolate balls in large sockets.
Except for the excessively pale skin, he was a very cute boy.
The boy in a blue jacket and a white shirt smiled brightly as he looked at us.
“Hello.”
The boy waved his hand cheerfully.
“What is this? Is this little kid going to be the seeker?”
Tommy sneered at the boy, who was much smaller than him.
“You’re overreacting. It’s not a big deal.”
The boy beckoned for him to come closer with a bright smile on his face.
“Why? Do you want me to come closer?”
He nodded.
“Just a moment, Tommy. Don’t go.”
“Don’t worry. What can a little kid like him do to me?”
Ignoring Zion, who was trying to stop him, Tommy approached the boy.
“Wait, Tommy!”
I quickly grabbed his arm.
“What’s wrong? Heyna, why are you acting that way too?”
“This is strange! How could a little kid like that be here?”
“I know that too. But do all the grown-ups really need to be afraid of a little kid like him?”
While we were struggling, a message appeared indicating that one minute had passed.
And…
“Aahh!”
Rose screamed and collapsed. She stared at the boy with trembling eyes, as if she had seen a ghost.
“Rose, stop screaming. Why are you…?”
Tommy, who covered his ears, turned to look at the boy and froze.
“…Damn.”
Why were they reacting in such a way? What exactly do they see?
Even though I already knew the kid was a ghost, I turned my head in curiosity, and I quickly regretted that choice.
[Decreasing mental state by 10.]
The whites of his eyes were crescent-shaped, and his thin lips were torn to the corners. Blood dripped from between his teeth, which were scattered and barely intact.
The boy, with a creepy smile on his face, giggled at us.
“Hey, brother, sisters. Aren’t you hiding?”
***
We ran through the corridor in a frantic frenzy.
“Damn it! Where can we hide here?”
The dimly lit corridor was devoid of any decorations, and there was no place to hide.
“Oh, isn’t that a door over there?”
I pointed to the doors in the distance with my hand.
Tommy rushed to the nearest door and pulled the handle.
“It’s open!”
Fortunately, the door was unlocked.
“This looks like… a storage room.”
A dimly lit room with faint light bulbs. Boxes and furniture were piled up everywhere.
Squeezing ourselves in between the boxes, Tommy opened a large wardrobe. It was spacious enough for three people to hide in.
“We can hide here.”
Tommy walked into the closet, brushing away spiderwebs and sending dust flying.
“What are you doing? Come in quickly,” he said, looking at Rose.
Rose turned her head quickly.
“I don’t want to. How can you hide in such a dirty place?” Zion shared the same sentiment as Rose.
“I don’t think hiding there is a good idea either. If we get caught, we won’t have anywhere to run.”
Tommy frowned.
He felt annoyed that nobody seemed to listen to him.
“Now is not the time to be picky.”
“You can’t make me if I don’t want to!”
“The ghost will devour you once he catches you if you keep being so stubborn,” Tommy replied.
“What, are you done talking?”
Tommy and Rose raised their voices, arguing. In the midst of their argument, a message appeared before me.
[If you survive to the end with your partner, you can obtain a very special additional reward.]
[The selected partner will have their favorability increased by 1.]
[Who would you like to accompany you?]
-
- Rose
-
- Zion
-
- Tommy
-
- Dekir
Judging by the lack of reaction from others, it seemed like a message only visible to me.
‘Just when things were already troubling, what’s this now?’
Since when did hide-and-seek become a game played with partners?
