I Reincarnated As A Villainess, But Why Did I Become A Cat Butler Instead? - Chapter 304
Chapter 152.2

“There’s no way I could ever stop loving you.”
I was recalling Dimitri’s confession from a few days ago. That confession had been drifting through my mind several times each day.
‘Is it really true?’
In truth, I couldn’t fully believe those words as if they were an unwavering truth. My heart, tightly wound with decades of doubt, didn’t magically melt away with just a few words.
‘If that were possible, it wouldn’t be a confession—it would be manipulation or deceit. It would have clouded my judgment and misled me.’
Still, I found courage through that confession. Despite the anxiety and doubt that love might end in unhappiness, I decided to take that risk… because Dimitri had mustered the courage to show me his vulnerabilities.
I found myself wanting to respond to his courage.
I decided to embrace my current feelings, regardless of how things might unfold in the future. Then, surprisingly, everything became easier. Although I had long denied it, my heart had been leaning toward Dimitri for quite some time, and it was far more difficult to confine that strong current than to let it flow.
Upon entering Dimitri’s office, I watched him as he sat at his desk, looking over some documents.
“Why are you standing there instead of coming in?”
“Because you look cool working. Ah, it feels refreshing to finally say out loud what I’ve been thinking!”
I walked over to Dimitri and rested my chin on his desk, glancing up at him.
“Did you know that your shyness is cute?”
As I chuckled at Dimitri’s slightly flushed cheeks, Hyle, who was standing next to us, looked back and forth between us, his mouth slightly open.
I smiled brightly at Hyle and spoke.
“If you’re not busy, could you step aside for a moment, Viscount Villefranc?”
“Y-Yes?”
When he didn’t catch on immediately, Dimitri barked at him.
“My wife is asking you.”
As Hyle was nudged aside by Shedim, who appeared dark and long like mist in my eyes, I waved goodbye to him and quickly made my way over to Dimitri.
“Can I pet your head?”
“Of course.”
Dimitri leaned his head toward me obediently.
“Does it feel good when I pet your head in human form? You really liked it when you were Blue.”
“Yes, it makes me happy.”
Dimitri hugged me and lifted me onto his lap, resting his head on my shoulder.
I enjoyed the warmth of his solid body against mine.
My heart raced.
“I really love that you’re a cat, Dimitri.”
Dimitri tightened his grip around my waist.
“I just got even happier because Rowaine likes me.”
Why do I like Dimitri this much? I liked him so much that it was almost puzzling, and a smile spread across my face without me even realizing it.
“Did you know? When you’re a cat, your fur shines so beautifully, and you look really cool.”
“I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Your eyes are so striking, it’s really cool. And the color is absolutely beautiful.”
“I’ll remember that as well.”
“Your long legs give you a really solid and dignified presence.”
“I like you, Rowaine.”
“Where did that come from?”
Dimitri rubbed his face against my shoulder and took a deep breath.
“You make my heart flutter and then say that all of a sudden? How brazen of you, Madam.”
“D-Did I? I was just being honest.”
“That honesty makes my heart flutter even more.”
He lifted his head to meet my gaze.
“May I kiss you?”
“I didn’t come here for that, but…”
I smiled and nodded slightly.
Dimitri’s lips brushed against mine for a moment before pulling away. A blissful sensation blossomed from my heart and spread throughout my entire body.
Feeling shy for no reason, I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly.
“I wish it could be like this every day.”
“It will be like this forever.”
“That’s a promise.”
“Let’s make it part of our routine.”
Dimitri nodded resolutely.
It was a very reassuring statement.
‘Cats tend to stick to their routines well.’
I realized that if I kept this up, I wouldn’t be able to tell him why I came to see him, so I got up from his lap.
“I came to tell you something, Dimitri.”
“What is it?”
“I received a letter from the Empress.”
I showed Dimitri the letter from Iris that had been handed to me earlier.
“The Emperor is planning to arrange a meeting for Elaine and Herman at the upcoming horse racing event.”
Iris probably shared this with me because she was hoping I would create a scene and tarnish Elaine’s reputation out of jealousy.
Dimitri, who knew the whole situation, asked,
“Are you going to attend, even knowing the Empress’s plan?”
“Yes.”
I smiled meaningfully.
“Something interesting is going to happen there.”
