I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 80
Tess’ hand as he put the food into his mouth moved busier than before. I again focused on the steak on the plate.
What was going on?
Actually, I wondered if Tess would question Marquis Gilber’s party. I had gone with someone other than him.
I thought he was going to talk about prohibiting partners altogether, but it’s strange that he’s quiet.
Even today’s Tess was overall perfectly fine. It was embarrassing when he said he would dress me, but it was mostly within the predictable range.
It feels empty.
No, what am I saying? Did I just feel sorry because Tess was not being clingy. I must have adapted to Tess who clings to me without even realizing it.
“Euseniel, are you coming again next week?”
“Yes.”
Tess, who came out to see me off to the entrance of Hill Palace, smiled and narrowed his eyes.
Are you sick that you can smile innocently without biting your lips just because I met someone other than you?
Touching the straight forehead hidden under his black hair, it was as cool as always.
“What’s wrong?”
“No, nothing.”
I don’t think he’s sick. No, does he show normal symptoms when he’s sick?
I wanted to ask what kind of relationship he had with the devil, but I had no interest in digging up what he was trying to hide.
“I’ll see you next time.”
“Come back soon, Euseniel.”
Tess held my hand and quietly whispered. His long eyelashes trembled as I stroked his hair.
“Yes.”
As I readily agreed, a blush spread across Tess’ cheeks.
The imperial palace was generally quiet today, probably because there was no assembly. It’s nice not to have people stare at me, thanks to that.
However, as I passed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I heard quite a commotion.
At first glance, I can hear the voices of a woman and a man.
Normally, this would have been something I would have overlooked, but the fact that it was a familiar voice aroused my interest.
Carefully heading to the source of the commotion. I stopped walking before passing the corner of the building.
“So what do you want to say?”
The woman asked in a businesslike tone.
“Aurin.”
The man responded earnestly.
“Come to the party with me. As my partner.”
Ethyl, my friend. Has he finally realized his feelings? I covered my mouth to keep myself from cheering.
“All of a sudden?”
“You probably need a partner anyway.”
“My partner doesn’t have to be you.”
But the conversation didn’t seem smooth. How will Ethyl respond to Aurin’s straightforward words?
“Is there any reason why it shouldn’t be me?”
“Well… that.”
Oohh, right, Ethyl was a good talker from a young age.
“You don’t like going to parties with me, do you?”
But Aurin is not easy either.
“… I didn’t particularly hate it.”
“If I hadn’t told you about Euel, you wouldn’t have partnered with me. Am I right?”
Ethyl took a straight hit.
“That’s right.”
Perhaps Ethyl readily acknowledging the fact was not what a reaction she expected, Aurin remained silent.
Think about it, Ethyl. If Aurin and you participate as partners, you get something. So what did Aurin get?
If he could realize this, the two of them will be able to get closer much faster.
“You just became the Marquis, Aurin.”
The man’s friendly voice began to persuade Aurin.
“I’d rather go with my brother or some other obscure person.”
I think a lot of emphasis went into the ‘ambiguous other person’. It was the first time I heard my childhood friend like that, so it was unfamiliar but exciting.
“I am Bonart’s eldest and Imperial Knight.”
“…….”
“Xuen had a lot of gossip in many ways. Even now, you would know that gossip continues to come out, Aurin.”
Ethyl’s tone as he called the other person’s name was very sweet. It’s amazing that he has this side of him.
“I benefited from participating with you as a partner. Now it’s your turn to take your benefit, Aurin.”
Suddenly, the situation was reversed, and Ethyl came up with a proposal that suited Aurin’s pragmatic nature.
“… good.”
With Aurin’s still calm voice, it was hard to guess what kind of expression she was making.
“If you let me know in advance which meeting you will be attending, I will make sure to set aside time.”
However, judging from Ethyl’s bright voice, it seems Aurin is not making a bad expression.
“If you’re on your way out of the palace, shall I go with you?”
“I still have work to do. You can go first.”
“Then I’ll train more then go.”
Aurin must have realized that Ethyl’s will could not be broken, and gave him the answer he wanted.
“I’ll finish the paperwork and come out, so just wait here.”
“Sure.”
Soon, the presence disappeared. All that remains is Ethyl.
I wanted to run out right away and tell Ethyl that he did a good job, but I’ll hold back.
As soon as I get home, I’ll have to see if there’s a meeting the two of them can go to. The moon might rise instead of the sun tomorrow morning as the day finally comes when the social season feels like fun.
* * *
The excitement heated by Aurin and Ethyl cooled as soon as the week began.
“Are you the eldest son of Marquis Gilber?”
“Yes, hello. I’m Arden Gilber.”
When I went to the lab, I was greeted brightly by a young man with brown hair who looked like Marquis Gilber.
When I saw the owner of the room, Weathering looked cold.
“He’s scheduled to enter the Concium next semester, but he asked me to help him study until then.”
“It is an honor to be able to receive help from Professor and Senior I respect.”
Arden Gilber, bowing his head, had an atmosphere that Mother would be very pleased with.
“I’ve met Lady a long time ago.”
“I don’t remember the old days very well.”
Most of the time, I just said hello without any heart.
“I am the cousin of Hyacinth’s Hanil.”
“Ah, with Hanil? I remember now. The kid who followed Hanil was Lord Arden then?”
“Please feel free to call me Arden.”
“Arden can also call me Euseniel.”
Weathering looked this way with a disapproving face, but he didn’t say anything.
