I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 243
“The wound on the wrist is severe, and there is a limit to treating it all at once. The most concerning issue is that the magic inside the body has been disrupted.”
“It’s probably due to the magic. It seems that the internal organs have taken some sort of shock. There don’t seem to be any other serious injuries besides the ones just treated by the wizard.”
Weathering Blest and the doctor each made a statement, and it aligned with what I had observed.
“Good work. You may leave now.”
“When is the next treatment?”
“I’ll handle it.”
Weathering Blest, who was clearly eager to see Euseniel, was getting on my nerves. I sent him away, not even bothering to use healing magic.
Next time, I’ll call for the Grand Wizard.
The burns were a problem, but what was worse were the metal shards lodged in Euseniel’s pale wrist.
I carefully removed the shards, applied medicine, and wrapped the area with bandages.
“My Euseniel…”
When I pressed my palm against her cold cheek, I faintly smelled her scent, one that I loved. It seemed like Euseniel was coming back to life, and I felt a little relief.
I lit the fireplace, then carefully undressed Euseniel, who had been changed into her nightgown for the doctor’s examination.
I wet a cloth with warm water and gently wiped her body.
With the room heated and her body warmed, her cheeks quickly flushed a bright red.
“Euseniel.”
I carefully touched her long, dark eyelashes. Her cracked lips twitched slightly. Fearing she might wake, I quickly pulled back.
As the doctor and Weathering Blest had diagnosed, Euseniel’s internal state was a mess.
“How did you end up like this? How much did you have to endure to get here…”
Grit. I ground my teeth when I thought of the Emperor of the Southern Empire.
“I can’t help you.”
In this situation, using a similar kind of magic would speed up the healing process.
Unfortunately, my magic is completely different from Euseniel’s, so I had to bring in someone who could help.
“Bring Ruby Daidi.”
Ruby Daidi was brought up from the underground prison and immediately knelt.
“Daidi’s daughter greets Your Majesty.”
Her mental control had been lifted for some time, and once her mind was clear, she started begging me. It seemed she remembered everything she had done.
However, I had to stay cautious about what kind of device the Emperor of the Southern Empire might have used on her. Even though it wasn’t of her own will, she still tried to kill me, so she remained confined.
“Come here.”
“Understood… Gasp! Euel!”
Ruby Daidi gasped in shock when she saw Euseniel lying on the bed, pale as a ghost.
“Euel! Euel, what happened? Euel!”
“She’s just asleep. Don’t wake her, foolish Daidi daughter.”
Only then did the pitiful Ruby Daidi close her mouth.
“Do you know the person you gave your soul to turned Euseniel into this?”
“That, that’s not possible…”
Ruby Daidi was filled with despair.
I wanted to say harsher words, but tainting this woman’s soul wouldn’t be good for Euseniel.
Because I had to use Ruby Daidi’s magic.
“Hold Euseniel’s hand. Yes, just like that.”
I placed my hand on Ruby Daidi’s back and directed the magic circulating in her healthy body toward a specific direction.
Ruby Daidi’s magic, which was in contact with Euseniel, moved toward her. A large amount of magic was transferred to Euseniel.
“Huh.”
Ruby Daidi, forced to give a significant amount of her magic to someone else, let out a suppressed groan but kept moving the magic.
Since she was useful, I spared her from execution.
I faintly channeled my own magic for the diagnosis, and slowly, I could tell that Euseniel’s body was starting to stabilize. She was using the similar magic flowing into her body to heal herself.
I sent Ruby Daidi away and lay next to Euseniel.
The familiar warmth and scent made my eyes flutter closed.
* * *
“Ah.”
I tried to get up, but found myself lying quietly under the familiar ceiling.
Feeling the weight on my waist, I reached out and found Tess’s arm, who had been holding me as he slept. I inserted my fingers into his dark hair and gently felt the soft texture.
“Umm…”
Tess, who had been nuzzling his head against my body, groggily sat up.
“Euseniel, my love.”
Rubbing his sleepy eyes with my thumb, I realized it wasn’t the time for this.
“That’s right, Tess. I have something very important to tell you.”
“Euseniel, you need to rest now.”
“I’ve figured out how the Southern Empire’s army could have appeared near our territory.”
Tess paused for a moment, then sighed as if there was nothing he could do about it.
“Alright. I’ll call Panet.”
“—Weathering. I need to talk to him first.”
Tess’s face instantly crumpled. As cute and endearing as it was, this wasn’t the time to indulge in it.
“Tess, I love you, and I came all this way because I wanted to see you. Don’t you think it’s time to put aside the jealousy?”
Tess blinked rapidly and then nodded. He ordered for Weathering to be called over.
“Euseniel, get dressed.”
I nodded once I realized I was still in my nightgown.
As Tess dressed me in light underwear and a long dress, I kept my eyes open, making him embarrassed.
“Why?”
“Euseniel, you don’t like showing your skin in bright places.”
“You’re the one seeing me. I don’t mind.”
Tess’s pale face turned as red as a tomato.
“Tess, give me a kiss. It’s been a while.”
He slowly kissed me, like a baby bird. I laughed and pulled his neck.
Tess fluttered his eyebrows, unsure of what to do with the light and brief kiss.
“Haha.”
I reached out to touch his bangs, and even his nape turned red.
