I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 160
The sight of the golden specks shimmering in her dark green eyes was so beautiful that I couldn’t help but touch my eyelids.
“Hey, Tess.”
“Yeah?”
“I had made up my mind about something before I left for the world of my past life.”
“What is it?”
“To become an incredibly smart and strong person.”
Euseniel was already smart and strong enough.
I gazed at her eyes twinkling even in the darkness, and she brushed my cheek with her firm hand, while holding the sword.
“When I meet my mother who gave birth to me from my past life, I’ve decided to live for my family and you.”
Once again, her emerald eyes softened when she mentioned ‘family’.
“It seems like Mother has caught on about you. In fact, she noticed something years ago.”
If it was the Duchess, she would have noticed much earlier. When Hardland returned to Alin, I vividly remembered the shocked look on the Duchess’s face as she watched me.
“But I can’t give you up, Tess, so I’ve decided to become stronger.”
It seemed that the fact that I had the devil’s blood in my veins and had made a pact with the devil was nothing to Euseniel. She would hold onto me despite her mother’s opposition.
“If I become stronger, Mother won’t have anything to worry about, and persuading her should be easier.”
What could the Duchess be worrying about? Was it her attempt to keep Euseniel, an elf who was the polar opposite of me? Or was it the possibility of the devil inside me running wild and capturing Euseniel?
Even if Euseniel tried to push me away, I wouldn’t let go. It was an unnecessary worry.
“I have to continue learning magic. I also need to train.”
“Why don’t you train with me?”
“Because I can’t come to meet you.”
I tickled Euseniel’s chin as she pondered whether to train with me, her worthy sparring partner.
“For now, I need to focus more on magic.”
She nodded as if she had made the decision herself. She squeezed my hand away as it was tickling her.
Those who had gained fame in the human world had only borrowed a fraction of the devil’s power. A contract holder couldn’t be stronger than the devil.
Euseniel seemed to know what kind of existence the devil was, but there didn’t seem to be any option impossible for her. She casually said she could handle it.
“So, for the time being, I’ll learn magic from Weathering. Got it?”
“You could learn from me.”
“You have a lot to do.”
“I can finish it quickly!”
“What? Have you been slacking off all this time?”
I was caught by Euseniel’s trick.
“Also, one more thing. Tess, can you purely focus on the lessons in front of me? Can you promise not to do anything? Can you resist holding hands or kissing?”
It was an absolutely impossible task.
“And finally, remember why we can’t have swordsmanship practice right now?”
“Ah.”
“So, give up, Tess.”
How could I give up when that person liked you?
“I’m not very eager to keep learning magic from Weathering either.”
Euseniel gently sighed while pressing my temples.
“He said to me. Wait, promise that you won’t get too excited after hearing my story.”
I didn’t want to promise, but Euseniel had a stern face , so I reluctantly nodded.
“Weathering said he likes me.”
It wasn’t surprising since I already knew that fact.
“I rejected him.”
I had already heard this, but I kept silent.
On the day when I confessed to having made a pact with the devil, I had promised not to listen to any more of Euseniel’s affairs. However, I couldn’t help but listen.
But I couldn’t let her know that I was listening, so I had to make sure it didn’t rain when that damned scholar confessed. I had barely managed to suppress the emotions that had inadvertently surged. Instead, everything made of glass in my room shattered, and several unused guesthouses collapsed.
Fortunately, I had controlled it before Duke Hardland could notice, and fortunately, Euseniel seemed unaware of this side of me.
“He mentioned someone he likes.”
I wasn’t sure whether Euseniel would tell me this story or not.
I would be happy if you rejected him and said we’re lovers. But apart from that, if you didn’t tell me that you received a confession from another man…
Just the thought of it made my blood boil.
“Well, he already knows what kind of relationship I have with you.”
I felt relieved when you told me everything without holding back.
Yes, Euseniel. In the past, I thought it was enough for you to be by my side. But I kept wanting more. I wish you could just have your beautiful eyes only for me.
“He mentioned it even though he already knew?”
“I felt like he was in a tight spot. So… aah, no.”
Euseniel hesitated for a moment before adding,
After hesitating for a moment, Euseniel added,
“If you don’t like it, I won’t learn magic from him. No, of course I won’t learn it because you won’t like it.”
What did I just hear?
Not understanding it, I remained silent, and Euseniel reiterated her words.
“I won’t learn magic from Weathering.”
Wow, Euseniel was giving up. For me, she wouldn’t do what she wanted, which she had wished for.
It felt like my non-existent heart was racing. It was pounding, and it sounded like I could hear my heart pounding too. It seemed like my heart was beating too fast, and my breathing became labored.
“Learn it.”
It was overwhelming to even say this.
I gently held the cheek of my lover, who was tilting her head in surprise. I felt my heart relax in the warmth.
Just a while ago, I had hoped that Euseniel wouldn’t meet anyone. But now that was okay.
My feelings were so fickle.
“Learn it so that you can become stronger. In case I become strange like last time, please stop me.”
