I Grabbed the Tyrant’s Heart - Chapter 158
“There’s a difference between not doing what you can do and being unable to, Gael. You should be able to control your strength freely, using all the muscles in your body as you wish.”
“Really? Then, what’s the benefit?”
I poked my younger sister’s cheek, which was still soft and chubby with baby fat.
“When you want to overpower someone, you can, and when you don’t want to strike, you don’t have to.”
I explained what Ber had taught me.
“In short, it means you become stronger. Being strong doesn’t just mean having strong muscles.”
“Oho.”
Gael’s eyes sparkled at the mention of becoming stronger. Perhaps due to the lingering effects of her childhood bullying, she considered becoming stronger important.
“I’m practicing that right now too.”
“Ugh, so that’s why you don’t have time to spar?”
“If you have time, visit Aurin in the evening. You might find Ethyl, who follows Aurin. Ask him to spar.”
“Ethyl? Why?”
“He has a lot of experience among his peers. He had even participated in monster subjugation missions, ask him how it went.”
“Okay!”
Gael, who was still full of interest in exciting things, jumped up and down, saying she’d go see Ethyl right away.
“If you purely use your skills to defeat Ethyl, come to Sister, Gael. I’ll give you proper training then.”
“Great!”
Gael ran off quickly and disappeared behind a building corner.
“Laura, I’m fine, you can go.”
After comforting the distressed maid, I cast the barrier again. It not only prevented explosions but also served to block my magic.
Not wanting to be caught using magic yet, I practiced what Weathering had taught me.
I cleared the debris with my foot and sat on the ground. Crossing my legs and taking a deep breath, I felt the flow of magical power through my body.
After a while, I relaxed my posture.
“This is why it’s not under control….”
My former magic mentor, Mr. Bugh, mentioned that I had a considerable amount of magic.
However, after dimension-hopping, my magic increased explosively.
Initially, I thought it might be due to the influence of visiting Guana Mountain, where magic is said to be created. However, with the amount of magic staying the same, I realized that this was entirely my own.
“Using magic has become much easier.”
It became challenging to estimate how much to use since the amount has increased, but manipulating magic itself became more manageable.
After trying some advanced spells that I couldn’t use before learning from Weathering, I succeeded unless it was a failure in the magic control.
Until now, I knew the theory, but I thought I couldn’t use them due to a lack of magic.
“At this level, my rank is… Hmm.”
Wizards categorize themselves by ranks, ranging from 1st to 8th. The higher the rank, the more advanced the wizard. Weathering, as a senior wizard, refers to 7th and 8th rank wizards. Rank 8 is like finding a needle in a haystack.
An Archwizard surpasses rank 8, and beyond that, assigning a rank is considered meaningless.
The most recent spell I cast was of the 7th rank. The problem was that I often failed in magic control, reducing the probability of implementing spells successfully.
“I guess I have no choice but to practice this.”
Still, using magic itself has become much easier, so I’ll probably improve quickly.
I cast the flame-based magic again. It seemed challenging from the beginning, but wouldn’t it be meaningful to get better at what I couldn’t do before?
“Steady, steady, steady. Don’t release it all suddenly, me.”
According to Tess, there are limits to the power that the devil can exert in this world, so it’s not impossible, right? If the devil is strong, then I just need to become stronger.
After practicing for a few hours, my magic was hardly depleted, but I was mentally exhausted and collapsed on the floor.
“Whaa….”
I still couldn’t use teleportation, a magic of the 8th rank.
“Tess, I miss you.”
If I could teleport, I would go to see him.
“No, it’s pointless. Father is there anyway.”
I sent a messenger to deliver a letter, but I heard that it was confiscated by Father. He hasn’t returned home for several days.
Mother was keeping a close eye on me, making sure I couldn’t escape to other places. She insisted that I only use a carriage since I might change my destination if I take a horse! And even told Rider to check if I left Concium on time and come back to the mansion.
I couldn’t help but follow her orders silently as it’s not that I didn’t understand her feelings.
It might be quite interesting to see Tess’s boiling emotions.

“You really didn’t come.”
Since she saw my disheveled appearance just at dawn, I thought she would come, but there was no message from Euseniel.
Yes, the Duchess is probably keeping a strict watch.
Thanks to the intense scrutiny from Duke Hardland, who watched me like a hawk until well past midnight, I had to handle my duties diligently for days and couldn’t go to see Euseniel.
“Duke, when will you return home?”
After being confined for several days, my patience was wearing thin.
“I won’t go until Your Majesty gives up on my daughter.”
The Duke brought a chair, took a seat in front of me and handed over more documents with a stern tone.
However, his cold words concealed complex emotions. Perhaps there was clearly love and concern for Euseniel, mixed with sympathy and sorrow that he couldn’t help but show whenever he looked at me.
That’s why I like the Duke.
He is not only Euseniel’s father by blood, but consistently shows concern for me. By now, even if the Duchess hadn’t mentioned it, he would have likely sensed that something was off about me, yet he doesn’t express discomfort.
